@CookiesRockMyPlates, absolutely! I've done a lot of experimenting, and my dogs do much better in winter with booties. My favorites are just simple fleece sacks secured with Velcro at the top. They don't especially like putting them on, but, without them, they often refuse to walk for any length of time.

The other day we had a snow day and we went sledding and my dad took my yorkie sledding down the steepest hill and my dad did and yorkie fell off the sled. My yorkie likes the snow! :)

@MultiCris2000, thanks for the kind words. Jack was 13 and had an attack last year that affected his brain. He pretty much died in my arms as we were arriving at the dog meetup. He was so excited to see his friends. :)

just remember Yorkies have no undercoat so they have to have whats it called coat or whatever because they can easily become cold plus i am getting a Yorkie in february

@CutieWUVA, I've tried a dozen brands over the years, but the one I like best is a simple fleece sack secured with velcro on an elastic strap. The elastic allows you to get it just a little snugger. ksilotto, I found some recently that stay on well. The secret is they use a stretchy elastic strap to attach the Velcro. That lets you clamp it down just a little snugger than just a cloth strap. The booties themselves are just simple fleece sacks that the dogs hardly notice they have on, but they do a good job protecting their pads from the snow.

Sorry to hear that your dog died. I had a Yorkie too. His name was Mikey and he also passed away at the age of 13. They're great dogs but very hard to keep clean. You give them a bath one day and they look like hell again the next day. LOL LOL

@minamistar1, just a strange attack. Vet thought it was neurological. We got to the park for our weekly meetup, and he was excited and barking because he saw the other dogs. Then he went stiff and finally limp. Rushed him to the emergency vet, where they stabilized him, but they weren't able to revive him. He was 13 and lived a great life, but I still miss him.
