Rammstein has bridged the language barriers and I think created a more culturally intrigued generation. Usually people hardly even want to study English in their english speaking country. Rammstein sings in pretty much all german except for a few song exceptions but has gotten me, and I know many people from reading on youtube to be interested in different languages and cultrues.

Ok, to the people who think any German(s)(especially Rammstein) modern or present are Nazis, then you all don't know your history. Being s "Nazi" isn't like being a "Christian" or a "Catholic, Hindu" or any other religion. It is't like being a "racist." It's a political party! It's like being a "Democrat" , "Republican." That's why they used the term "The Nazi Party took over Germany." Other people could be Nazis, like people form US, Britain, Japan, ANYONE! Just like anyone can be a Democrat.

The lyrics were written in response to allegations of fascism/nazism directed at the band. In the song they say "my heart beats to the left, 2-3-4", meaning they are on the left of the political spectrum. The refrain is an allusion to the revolutionary song Einheitsfrontlied, written by Bertolt Brecht for the Communist Party of Germany in the 1930s and re-popularized by Hannes Wader in the German Democratic Republic
