  • I'd also like to pay tribute to Peter Norman, the silver medalist in the event who stood in solidarity with Smith and Carlos, wearing the badge of the Olympic Project for Human Rights.

    He was shunned by Australian Olympic Committee Officials for his part in this great moment in the struggle for Civil Rights in the USA. As a fellow Australian, I recall Norman's part in this moment with great pride.

  • This should be in the top 10 of all time watched videos on YouTube. 40 years later: things have improved, but so many things have yet to be perfected. 1968 was a keystone year for America. Let us hope 2008 will be the same. Could anyone in 1968 have imagined a Black man would be running for president in only 40 years? We have come a long way, America. Now let's go the distance.

  • October 2, 1968 Tlatelolco. Althou the students and workers were prostesting against racism their main goals were others.

    That is a day that many people hasnt forgot. They passed a bill after that and it says that NOT A SINGLE Police member can get inside an university. University that are sponsord by the government are '' autonomas '' it comes from the Greek '' auto '' means by itself '' nomos '' means power.
