What I did was: I first purchased an SS Officers uniform as an "impression" for photography. Once you have that, you pretty much have the base of the uniform established and you can work off of that. But in the REAL reenactments, it's just like the military. You're given a rank and you have to EARN it. You can't just waltz in as a Sturmbanfuhrer. Reenacting is GREAT and I recommend it for anyone with a fascination with History and war. I'll upload videos of the uniform sometime.
