A blend of the kick is what I meant and it was 50 50 blend of kick trigger and acoustic. And yeah I intern there. Gonna be recording my solo record. But it was before the renovation so if you go the site, its in the room that is now the control room. Which was dead sound wise. Literally dead to the point that your ears would ring it was so quiet

My bad, we used 2 57s on the snare top and bottom. And I remember that everything except for a blend of the kit was acoustic drums. We try to use as few samples as possible. Makes it more real sounding

I didn't mix I just recorded but I can tell you the Mic setup we used. We used a 57 on the snare, audix d4 on the high toms and a d5 on the floor. We used a d6 on the kick, the earthworks for over heads, and an sm81 on the hi hat ride and China. And I don't remember what they were for room mics but I wanna say that we used some 440s for that.

@basje224 Het is niet erg als je geen les hebt gehad. Als je jezelf goede basistechniek hebt aangeleerd zit je goed. Kwa theorie is het wel handig om een klein beetje basistheorie te weten. Ik heb gewoon een demo van m'n eigen band opgestuurd. Het is belangrijk dat je op de demo goed laat horen dat je strak kan spelen. Je hoeft niet persé heel erg show-off te gaan doen.

@thewardrums nou klinkt allemaal goed. ik speel ook sinds 2/3 maandjes met dubbel pedaal, nog niet zo strak als jij natuurlijk maar scoor je daar wat punten mee als je dat erbij kan? ik ben wel erg fan van dave grohl en john bonham met die tripletfills, dat doe ik nog het meest :D ik ga nog naar de rockacademie kijken volgende maand en dan weet ik het ongeveer wel denk ik. ik ga wel overal auditie doen. amsterdam is ook gewoon een chille stad dus dat is ook een plus !

It's still the EQ2 that's on the kick. I chose it because it has the most attack of all of Evans' heads.

So i figured that would be a good choise for metalcore and such, and i'm very happy with it. I've also had the EQ3 and that's just a really good allround head. I haven't tried the EMAD and EQ4. I really wanna try the emad some time. Tell me if you like it, if you go for the emad!
