Man i think i have this shit....been having it for awhile and honestly thought it was a tumor or some shit...gotta go get it checked out asap .../sigh. Is surgery the only method of getting rid of it? antibiotics wont make it go away?

My mother was discharged 2 days ago after 10 days in the hospital 7 days in the SICU withlife support and of course well sedated. Thanks be to God she survived. I just want to know if you could share me your post operative side effects of the anesthesia and all of that...

Thank god that she came back well. Get her checked up regularly to know if there is any narrowing of airway. look for breathlessness.

They were bullshitting you - I've personally seen 2 other cases in Poole in the last 3 years (that's one doctor in one hospital).

It's unusual but NOT rare.

They were correct though - it can be life threatening if undiagnosed - hope you are feeling better

i had this last january. They told me i was the 1st in the UK to have caught it in the last 15 years. it took them 3 hours to fianly click on, the were tellin me my throat was ok till they put a camra up my nose and down it. after 7 days ov Sleeping on life soport int the ICU Ward and 3 days recovering from all the morphine they then told me if they never got it when they did i had 1hour at most befor i died. then i spent another w8 days in hostpitle and pusuded the doctors to let me go erlie.
