  • i thought i heard the misfits "138" guitar solo at 2:20 but it wasn't T-T. good fucking band btw ha!

  • Awesome.

  • I have a super cool wristband with an aquabat on it!

  • I dig the hardcore-era DEVO influence on Charge!!

When you get the drums, guitar and synth together it's super tasty.

  • Ha ha awesome. Its like Reggie and the full effect meets reel big fish. I miss the ska days.

  • it's not Chainsaw or Bones. it's Popeye.

  • @MrLoobee Nah this is Chainsaw. Popeye was in for a couple months, and this was from 2005. He wasnt in until 2006

  • attack of the show... you know bro!?

  • Can somebody say DEVO knockoff... like seriously WTF?!?!

  • @IrishBIood They say devo is one of their biggest inspirations

  • @IrishBIood die in a fire

  • @papajayhawk I'm working on it

  • Its the Aquabats, you make fun of 'em, you die.

    Aquabats for teh win :3

  • Just saw them tonight, i liked them more 12 yers ago :/ They dont really play their old stuff anymore :(

  • back when G4 was good :(

  • The first time i ever saw the aquabats =D

  • Is Bones rocking a Jazzmaster?

  • @GoodApolloImSteve looks kinda like a squier jagmaster

  • @GoodApolloImSteve It's Chainsaw, not Bones.

  • seriously the aquabats are the the best band in the world .....cant wait till january when the new album comes out!!!!!! ''High five soup!!!''

  • i kinda miss the aquabats when they had horns. still pretty good though.

  • @grantcanskate I have listened to their old stuff. They were better granted but they are still a gimmic band and gimmic bands, and the aqua bats are no exception, are not as good a regular bands. And IMO Reel Big Fish is better either way. Music is opinionated of what is good and bad except for the exceptions like Beiber and that other shit.

  • the aquabats are 100% ska, and dont let any mainstream asshole tell you differently

  • 70,000th Viewer! :D

  • It looks like Eagle Bones couldn't be there for this performance, so they just used a clone of Jimmy the Robot. Or I guess, another model of Jimmy the Robot.

  • I've seen bands like bless the falls billy talent and My Chemical Romance but nothing can ever beat how fun it is to see the aquabats and reel big fish

  • @tirank9

LOL then u obviously have NO CLUE how to enjoy yourself.

  • @tirank9 Hey man, thanks for the shinfo.

  • i cant believe i have to listen to these guys just to listen to RBF this friday but its alot better than other bands

  • @exitoftheend fooool when they play their old songs you will think differently. reel big fish is shit compared to the aquabats

  • Is it just me or did the keyboardist and the bassist switch places in this video? I saw them last night and the heavier dude on the bass was playing keyboard and saxaphone..

  • pop punk as fuck

  • @DangerCoughlin101 Ha, how so? Ive never heard them on the radio. Ive never heard some 35 year old investment banker mention them. Get over yourself, your not holier than anyone. They're just fun.

  • @mechakeanu ignore that fool. most people know that hatin' on the aquabats is like hatin' on everything that is good in the world.

  • People should get it into their head, the Bats aren't ska anymore, but they still have their wacky attitude which makes them awesome. I like both old and new (but i wish the horns could've stayed)

  • @HandyAndy893 im with ya with the hole ska scene i seen them live so many times at the glasshouse i still wear my ska patch but i been glad that they have played some of there old songs like giant robot bird head and cd repo man

  • ATTACK OF THE SHOW ... YOU KNOW BRO!

  • @funkypandaX whenit had Sarah Lane and was good.

  • The Aquabats are super rad. its official.

  • my dad grew up with the lead singer of this band

  • oh my god this is a very old aots episode

  • is travis the original drummer of aquabats?sorry for asking im not updated..and tnx in advance for the answer

  • @bilat86 you are correct

  • @guitarmastar Why do people like you answer questions when you are absolutely clueless? Travis Barker wasn't the original drummer for The Aquabats but he played on "The Fury of the Aquabats!"

  • @bilat86 well he was on the 2nd album

  • no way they were on atack of the show!?!?

  • @serendipitous123321 Yep back when ATOS (and G4 for the matter) was actually good.

Also I rather sad they got rid of this segment. I loved seeing all the random and cool bands that they had on the show.

  • I remember seeing this when it aired lol

  • @Stalfos212

Haha, man this is the performance that introduced me to the bats. And I have never looked back.

  • does anyone else think the lead singer sounds very dead kennedy's esque, im not sure why but i he sounds a lot like them for some reason

  • "Bones" the Guitar player Rules, he plays just Like Johnny Ramone from The Ramones!!

  • @WickedDrummer44 I dont know I think thats Chainsaw. Eagle Bones plays left handed.

  • @maleunicorn oh yeah that guitar player doesn't play for them no more it's egal hawk know I like him better more exciting to watch... I think!

  • @WickedDrummer44 Ya he's awesome! He uses a load of Orange amps!

  • @maleunicorn I think he play like Johnny Ramone from the Ramones don't you?

  • @WickedDrummer44 Now that you mention it he actually does have his style.

  • The Aquabats should have their own genre

  • saw them last night in st. pete, fl and they fucking killed! biggest mosh pit i've seen at a show in years. everybody had fun. sure, it would have been better with a dedicated horn section instead of a sax blast every once in a while from the keyboardist but what the fuck do you want? perfection? they were amazing.

  • good song

  • dude fuck off the aqua bats are way cooler than travis barker

  • I'm pretty sure Travis Barker used to be an Aquabat.

  • @cronology

He was an Aquabat. His stage name was Baron Von Tito.

  • i was at the mad hatter too. serious awesomeness

  • Great show last night at the Mad Hatter:) March 20 2010.

  • Travis??

  • The second song is ska...

  • OMG this is awesome

  • They are getting old!

I have seen them live eight times but I haven't been to a show in a few years. I miss Prince Adam and Chainsaw!

  • yeah i noticed they got a new guitar player when i saw them a week ago

  • what happened to the other two? I forgot.

  • I wanna see these guys play w/ nerf herder

    that would be epic

  • .... the aquabats go, new wave? i like it either way. the whoaaaaaaaaaaas remind me of Glenn Danzig

  • Ch......Chainsaw?!

  • I agree

  • @sman92 booo

  • i think that when the ones who played trumpets left, it stopped being ska but still they kept everything else whit give a new fun style, but personally i prefer ska, but this is still good

  • naw they still have their brass players, sometimes they use a bigger band, and the keyboardist plays sax

  • i would say that the aqua bats are in their own genre, pretty original and unique.

  • @timbo526 they're a gimmick Genre imo. Doing stuff thats normal in the type of music, but elivated higher do to thier costumes and show style. a Ska/Punk version of say, GWAR, who brought that stuff hardcore, and Kiss before them. They're all awesome bands, but might not be so memorable if not for the make up/costumes/odd stories.

  • this song its cool

  • aquabats= nerdcore+3rd wave ska+synth-rock= pure awesomeness!!

  • lol @ everyone who thinks this band are ska or punk

  • listen to their first two albums

    :)

  • its funny how many people think that a bunch of middle aged white guys in costumes acting goofy is some kind of characteristic of ska. guess they never heard of jamaica :<

  • Just because they don't use a lot of ska chords and sing like they're from Jamaica, doesn't mean they're not ska it means they are using ska as a spring bored and work on from that which is why they are a mix of ska, punk, and new wave.

  • theres no such thing as a 'ska chord', and you dont have to have a jamaican accent to be ska, listen to the specials or early madness. i'm just saying that all american ska bands nowadays act all goofy and it comes off as fake

  • acting goofy is what the aquabats invented. i dont think it matters, if the music is good.

  • @RedMcStorm Your a f**king retard. DEVO invented acting goofy!

  • @RedMcStorm good point, but the music is more than just good!

  • @RedMcStorm What!!! They did not invent that! Little Richard was doing that in the 50's

  • @Liekkek I think he means the ska rhythm.

  • @Liekkek

I think typically when people associate ska, they mostly think of 2-tone ska, but there's so many different type's of ska out there. I think the aquabats early work is a definitive showing of 2-tone. Now, while they have plenty of ska influence, they're mostly a pop-punky electro....thing.

    PLUS THEY'RE SUPERHEROES. YEAH!

  • @armyofrobots

there is nothing better than a pop-punky electro super heroe band. =O

  • theyve always been a punk band geeze

  • My lifelong dream is become an Aquacadet. :')

  • I did a research assignment on the origin and development of ska, and the aquabats clearly once fit in to the genre of 3rd wave ska. since they've lost their horns they've become less associated with it and more like alternative rock. reel big fish is 3rd wave ska as well. the bands like the specials were part of the 2-tone movement, or 2nd wave ska. 1st wave ska is the old Jamaican stuff.

  • punk-ska.

and you're done.. no more need for discussion.

  • jeez how come on every aquabats video there's a bunch of people fighting about the definition of ska? can't we all just be united with love and music and the aquabats? who cares if they're ska? they're awesome (:

  • @flatoutawesome9786

Bands evolve and sound different over time (At least, the good ones do.)

  • @flatoutawesome9786 United, as one stand together. Love how we all forget that lyric and yet they claim to know ska.

  • @flatoutawesome9786 Unity, as one stand together. Glad everyone forgets that when they claim to know ska.

  • @flatoutawesome9786 its kinda like Sunny Day Real Estate videos, everyone talks about emo

  • @flatoutawesome9786 Because they used to be the best ska band ever before they turned into the poor man's version of devo. This crap's embarrassing. I was so excited for the floating eye of death, but I literally threw that piece of shit in the trash and haven't listened since. This song's retarded.

  • @DMcFed

It wasn't on Floating Eye of Death at all. It was on Charge!!.

Floating Eye of Death is a great album, really an expansive album that dealt with some serious problems. I urge you to listen to it again. It is truly worth it.

  • @flatoutawesome9786

i just saw these doods a few days ago w/ the reel big fish. im a diehard metalhead and kinda bummed that i was goin. but i saw them. i've NEVER seen so much crowd energy. who the fuck cares if they're ska? they're AWESOME!!!

  • @tiedyeguy224 that is why ska shows are my absolute favorite concerts. I been to hardcore, punk, and rock shows, but the fans are always the best with ska shows

  • dude i discovered this band from G4 and i will love G4 no matter h0w terrible it gets because they got me into ska with these guys.

  • i know its not, dumbass, but TheMovie clearly stated that "ska is characterized mostly by walking basslines" and jazz HAS walking basslines. so it must be ska (according to him)

  • fuck they suck now, without barker and a brass section..whats the appeal?

  • Comment removed

  • this song is called fashion zombies

  • wow, these guys are a lot more popular than i thought they were...

  • \m/

  • what song is this?

  • Fashion Zombies!

  • buenísimos la hostia. Saludos From Spain (Europe)

  • i dont know if being in the costume would be worth it lke yes youd be in the aquabats who are amazing but youd have to look like this whenever your on stage

  • yeah rancid is ska, tim armstrong started it after the fall of op ivy.

and guys the real defining factor of ska is the beat...on/off where "on" is the snare and "off" is the bass drum. all the other factors, like upstrokes and a walking bassline, are generally part of ska but dont necessarily have to be there to "make" it ska. trust me, im a musician.

  • haha you're a dumbass. you don't know ska

  • disagree

  • rancid is not genericly ska. they are mostly punk. so, cause this country works with the majority, it is considered punk. yes, they have ska elements but i havent heard much. its like when ppl get angry cause you mix up deathcore with screamo and shit like that.

  • I mostly agree with this, I tend to not listen to the 'ska' bands with no horns. I'm a big fan of scofflaws, specials, mephiskapheles, skankin pickle, skatalites, bosstones

  • Its actually horns and a heavilly accented off beat, most of the time there are lots of upstrokes

  • horns arent really essential, people just get confused and consider stuff like reel big fish as ska :<

  • reel big fish is ska

  • not really, listen to prince buster or symarip if you want ska

  • or specials or bad manners

  • just saw specials last night actually :P cul show

  • reel big fish are pretty common 3rd wave ska. There's bands like the slackers who still play a similar type of ska to the original jamaican stuff, but true ska bands these days are very few.

  • RBF is 3rd wave ska. aquabats were ska, and they still have some ska elements, but they've changed. I still like em

  • reel big fish is ska, learn ur shit

  • no they're not, its just like saying blink 182 are punk. but dont worry, when you'll get older you'll learn to appreciate real ska :D

  • bitch learn to know your terms! they're 3rd wave ska, all thrid wave ska is poppy like that and they use ska cords. Just because it isnt 2nd wave ska, that dont mean its ska

  • thats amazing dude, did you look that up on wikipedia like the rest of you so called "musicians"?

  • I love MCBC.

  • I remember watching this the day it aired :')

  • same here bro, it was pretty weird and sick.

  • your officialy my bro

  • I can't believe you retards are trying to define ska and decide if this is ska. Why try to label shiit, let's just call it entertaining. If anything, they are the love child of GWAR and DEVO. Let's call it Gwevo!

  • they shuda stayed ska

  • Woah! This version is a LOT more epic than the recorded song!

  • It's called two tone or new wave

  • and nerd core ;)

  • yes exactly. they do new wave (ska helped influence that genre). Notice the ska like chords but they are downstroked instead. Also they still to a two-tone like ska without the horns on a few songs from Charge! The second song in this video is an example of this.

  • awkward motherfuckers....but its badass

  • So they let Aquabats here but not Mega64? Bastards.

  • There shows are so AWESOME it's ridiculous! I got to see them play with the Suburban Legends. The concert was AMAZING!!

  • WTF!? IT ENDED ON "WE DON"T!"!!?!?!?

  • These guys are AMAZING! I miss G4 with that chick (forgot her name)

But Olivia Munn is Sexy as hell.

I love when cops and cheaters were on the REAL channel or whatever :(

  • her name is sarah lane

  • Her name is Sarah Lane i believe

  • sarah lane was her name, and G4 is a channel

  • what is g4?

  • A channel about technology and stuff. It was cool for a while but has gone downhill recently.

  • yeah kinda like mtv did, i mean now it's kinda like mtv it wasn't before.

  • g4 is awesome

  • It's gay.

  • dude this is back when g4 was amazing! before all the played was ninja warrior and recycled crap shows from other networks. cheaters? REALLY? don't get me wrong. i love ninja warrior. but damn the aquabats and video games was a good combo.

  • always

  • I miss when they had indie musical guests on their show on nearly weekly.

  • quite really. They used to be like, nerdy people that I could relate to, now they're WAY to famous person like.

  • this is cool !! haha

  • is that travis barker????????

  • Don't think so. Back in their early days though he did the drums for them, but that was AGES ago.

  • yeah, i don't think so either - the guy below (er, above me i guess now) is right - he was their first drummer

  • The Barron Von Tito has moved on long ago.
