@HellenaKaPe "the three musketeers" (the book) is about how d'artagnan met the three musketeers and associated with them. d'artagnan is not made a royal muskateer before the end of the book. the two following books are set when d'artagnan is a musketeer. "twenty years later" and "le vicomte de bragelonne". i cried so much when i read the last one! they all died, except for aramis who is forced into exile! so sad
When I was little, I always wondered where the hell the priest was during the burial. It was just them there! Then I realised Artemis was a priest alreday, they didn't need another. Oh, those childhood mysteries of life...
@hailtheswastika1996 a shame?! good fucking ridence!! he was evil he starved his ppl!! bsides if he didnt get rid of him hed try to come back kill him n take the throne; which rightfully belongs to philip back in his greedy horrid srryest excuse fora human in history ever!!! hands
That tombstone had no birth or death date, nor even a complete name. It doesn't look like the burial/tombstone of a hero, more like of a beloved pet. WTF? Also a few second of the ending have been cut out. Uhmmm. Shame, because I like these movie despite its faults.
That tombstone had no birth or death date, nor even a complete name. It doesn't look like the burial/tombstone of a hero, more like of a beloved pet. WTF?
@mrsotter19 it's symbolism, if you weren't born you didn't die, if they don't say the date of your death you didn't die. In other words they made it so he lived forever even in death.
d'Artagnan is a muskateer therefore he did some pretty badass things lol he was also there captain and mentor. so basically he's saying all i ever wanted to be was as cool as him, becuase he was his role model.
D'artanion was a student of the game, but my favorite musketeer was always athos!! Even though Aramis was intelligent one of them all!! And Porthos was just a PIMP!! lol Back in the old days you could get laid everyday if you wanted, women were women back then!! Nowadays it's all fantasy!!
You don't stand by while a man destroys other peoples lives because you're related to them. I 'hope' he will get better therefore I will turn a blind eye, doesn't cut it.
A murderer is still a murderer whether they're a blood relative or not. Enable their evil and you deserve to fall victim to it.
@NessiMauzz Athos is apologizing for how much of a jerk he's been to D'Artagnan. As a father, Athos can appreciate why D'Artagnan was unwilling to help them depose the king. He would have had to imprison or murder his own child.
Phillip was king in the end. This is such a beautiful story! And Leonardo was so hot (then)!!! I LOVE this movie. The quality here sucks, and a lot of parts are missing, but the content makes up for it big time:) I'm gonna buy the DVD later
I for one love the Musketeer movies, this one and the first one. They're pure fun action movies and this one has some nice emotion in it, and the actors were great!
well there was really a man who wore an iron mask, but no one really knows who he was. they have made stories and theories and legends about him, and this movie was based off one legend that the man in the mask was the twin brother of the king. no one really knows.
@ChibiProwl No, that's a different brother. Monsieur (Philippe Duc D'Orleans) and Madame (Henrietta Anne) are characters in the book. They're some of the first people Philippe has to convince, and he does not do a good job. I have no idea why Dumas chose the name "Philippe" for Louis' twin. It's a bit confusing, but the Philippe in this movie is definitely not Monsieur.
I like how he said feed him well, he doesn't want Louie to die in prision, he wants him to be in there his entire lifetime without human contact(besides with the deaf mute).
Mankind has always been like this, and while the musketeers might have been loyal and honourable, much like the samurai they still fought to attain whatever their lord's greedy heart desired.
i agree completely...the little flute or whatever it is that plays when dartagnan dies is really beautiful. this part makes me really sad...but i think "titanic" and "the man in the iron mask" are DiCaprio's top two best! he was really good in this film...he nailed both phillipe and louis' characters very well. and this is by far, my favorite scene in the movie! where the music plays..and leonardo cries, and athos kinda becomes a father to phillipe. really sweet. thanks for posting!
i cried at this part of the movie when he cinfesses to his phillipe that he is his father and goes on to when he dies...and the song was wow...I loved it thanks for uploading it...
Yes that is true, they have diffrent actors than the one with O'Donell but remember that many years have passed since that movie so perhaps they wanted new actors to show how they had aged. Or perhaps for other reasons. I read however that this is meant to be a sequal to the one with O'Donell in it. But who knows, either of us could be right.
I don't think this was supposed to be a sequel from The Three Musketeers with O'Donnell. I think it is meant to be a separate work; every actor in The Three Musketeers film is different then this one.
Gosh the music when D'Artagnan dies is just flawless. Sad that he died. This is actually supposed to be a sequel from the Three Musketeers movie with Chris O'Donnel so it makes me feel really sad about the way D'Artagnan's story eneded. The way he had to fight so hard in the first movie to become a Musketeer, and the way it ended. At least he died heroicly. He was the best Musketeer of them all.

*Sigh* Dumas is rolling in his grave. The actors were brilliant, the sets were lovely, as were the costumes. Such potential for a great movie! And the writers ruined a nearly perfectly good piece of literature. Not that I begrudge Phillipe a happy ending, but this was a slap in the face to the intelligence of everyone involved. Very sad.
I sooo agree with you...The guy who wrote the scrip probably read the book upside down...the actors were quite good, Athos is acting a bit weird...and Porthos didn't try to commit suicide...naked :D worth watching, though.
