@brinpol no... it'd be like us falling for an alien. They're not like us, but technically they're not lizards. They just resemble a kind of terran creature we know as lizards. They evolved from a who 'nother set of ancestors. We'd have been reptilian-like if there hadn't been the asteroid that killed the dinos. Scientists say if it hadn't happened 'Raptors would be the ruling species.

Good attempted save. I'm enough of a geek that this point actually bothered me, especially since it's a critical scene as to exposing the Visitors. Unfortunately, we already know William learned Arabic and not English, and had difficulty speaking the later. So, this explanation probably doesn't hold up. Too bad, because their English kind of hurt my suspension of disbelief (recalled too many of the "All Aliens Speak English"-type tropes).

@Ansset76 okay, how's this: the V-workers are taught English because they are simple workers, but the higher-up V's wear the universal translators in case they forget the "alien-ese" word for something, and can't risk appearing ignorant.
