im willing to bet that everyone who says this is a corolla have never been inside this car. I was at the dealership and its a HUGE difference in terms of size, luxury features and comfort. saying HS is a overpriced corolla is like calling downtown condos overpriced apartments. If you can afford it and have the interest, try it out you won't be disappointed. I liked it. Placed my order today.
this car is way overpriced! this car doesn't have the feel of a Lexus like the IS or the ES class models with a $46,000 sticker price. Nice looking interior and it is a hybrid though. The price should be around $27,000 to $34,000.
alotta ppl say its just a toyota, but if you put the two cars next to each other, they look totally different. the lexus is much more sporty and luxurious looking. i test drove one and it find it much better then the toyota prius.
it's a nice car but i'd never buy it. It's like an uncomfortable cross between a lexus and an actual hybrid. they should keep the two true to their own element
This car is a stupid Lexus. Its a Prius with a Lexus badge. I agree with others below, buy a diesel. You'll get higher mileage out of a VW Jetta and its far more exciting to drive, not to mention better looking.
Mercedes E-class 250 CDI has got a 211 HP/500NM of torque 4 cylinder diesel engine and it gets 44 MPG COMBINED. If it were sold in US, it would be less than 40k.
I agree. My dad (lives in Europe) bought an Audi A5 Sportback - not available in America - with a 170 hp 2.0 diesel engine. It get about 45 mpg combined with 250 pound feet torque. The car gets extraordinary fuel economy, in a great riding Audi!
He lives in the city, so he won't go that fast anyways, and when he does want to go fast, the car feels very good! I don't understand why americans don't buy diesel and why companies don't bring more diesels...
46K! If I had money and wanted good mileage, I think I might go with the Audi A3 TDI (turbo diesel). I've seen it's mileage numbers listed as 42 mpg highway, 30 city, and 34 mpg combined.
the track pad feels really cheap.. i would like it to return back into place after you use it.. a joystick on a PS controller has a better feel than that trackpad..
I couldn't give less of a damn about being green, but why would you put real wood in a hybrid? Aren't THOSE green people going to bitch about putting "earth's little children" in the car? $46,000?!?! How about $27,000 MAX! The HS doesn't even look CLOSE to a $30,000 car. Toyota/Lexus, you guys really need to change your game plan. The only good cars you have are the LS, and the old GX.
I think this car has tarnished Lexus' name. I really think Lexus needs to focus on moving away from Toyota's design style and the HS is nothing but a Corolla with Prius technology. Not only that, but it has a small engine and, like the video noted, it doesn't handle like a luxury car. The way I look at it, this car is no different than the Prius. If someone wants a hybrid, they can buy the Prius. It won't hurt Toyota Motor Corp.'s finances at all AND it would keep the Lexus name prestigious.
Well I would get this over the ES cause the ES us ugly and us a souped up camry. But I probably wouldent get a Lexus anyway. I'd much rather even the ford fusion hybrid. Save alot and get better gas milage!
Technically, that's not correct. The HS 250h is based on the Toyota Avensis sold in Europe and other places, which is what the Scion tC is based on also.
But getting off that high horse: yeah, I agree, it's a fancy schmancy, souped-up Corolla, for which I definitely couldn't imagine paying. The question to ask is "Why bother?"
I saw this car in person it looked A-MAZE-ZING

Funny thing was, I've seen this car on the road. My first impression was, "That's a lexus? Must be the lower end model."
$46K for something that ugly and weak on horsepower, you've got to be kidding me. I wonder if the dumbass driving it had bought it or was leasing.
