Celtic Frost was some kind of blackened avantgarde thrash.

And Mercyful Fate is more dark heavy metal than anything.

Venom created black metal period. Bathory even took their name from a Venom song, "Countess Bathory". Q was full of it when he said he never heard of Venom before, yeah right! While Bathory was in the first wave they sounded more like the second wave of black metal. Just because Bathory was the style everyone followed does not mean they were the only ones playing it in the first wave. Mercyful Fate is a style unto itself but if I had to subgenre them it would be closer to black metal.

You're right too, but I mean that Mercyful Fate isn't pure blackmetal band. They songs included heavy, speed or thrash riffs, but these kinds of metal are...classic and similiar to heavy metal. Black metal is other story;)

For some reason, everytime i hear this song, i get chills, this live version, I am amazed, when that opening guitar solo happens, i had goosebumps.

Si que es Chile, yo fui a ambos conciertos el primero en el 98, y todos coreamos melissa por largo rato, El mismo king diamond dijo que se acordó de que en Chile querían escuchar melissa, y en este concierto del 99 tocaron en exclusiva para Chilito a la bruja melissa...
