not sand, cinders, its in a little place called cinder hills next to sunset crater in Flagstaff Arizona. rode quads there several times, sucks to get stuck just like in sand but its not :D

Looks like a big block chevy. I say that because its got the distributor out back like a chevy, and the valve covers look like they got more than the 4 perimeter bolts of a small block chevy. An LS motor the valve covers would have 4 bolts in the center of the covers, which this does not, so no LS7 anything here....
Oh, really well share a few of those video links with us smart guy, We would LOVE to see a 1000 horsepower "reliably" as you claim from a Three-Eight-Three on pump gas... You bet, and your last name is Petty too!
Go right on over to NRE's website. They offer a 355 that creates 800 Horsepower on pump gas, and only I believe 14 PSI of boost.
That engine is in their "Daily Drivers Series" collection.
Furthermore, I've personally emailed SMRE myself, knowing they are the best of the best when it comes to pump gas power, shown with their 2,000+ HP pump gas HEMI. They told me that it's possible to get 1,200+ HP out of a 383 on pump gas with the right C/R, but reliability may be an issue on a stock block.
youre right its not 1000, its closer to 1200. The owner sold the car about a year ago. He had over $30,000 in the motor alone. Your 20 yrs old, dont worry your nuts will drop soon.
I believe it...I dont think you realize that having 1000hp in a rail isnt really that uncommon...most of the big rails are sittin around 600-700hp but once you start twin turboing stuff its not that hard to get those kinda numbers

Mids and rears handle differently and ride differently, some guys are better at driving mids, some are better at rears. Mids tend to be better hill shooters, but can't dune as well.

Go right on over to NRE's website. They offer a 355 that creates 800 Horsepower on pump gas, and only I believe 14 PSI of boost.
That engine is in their "Daily Drivers Series" collection.
Furthermore, I've personally emailed SMRE myself, knowing they are the best of the best when it comes to pump gas power, shown with their 2,000+ HP pump gas HEMI. They told me that it's possible to get 1,200+ HP out of a 383 on pump gas with the right C/R, but reliability may be an issue on a stock block.

I believe it...I dont think you realize that having 1000hp in a rail isnt really that uncommon...most of the big rails are sittin around 600-700hp but once you start twin turboing stuff its not that hard to get those kinda numbers

It takes alot more power than you think to pull through sand like that. so your saying what, that it has less than 700hp? your on crack. how come you never see sandrails built like that with 400hp? actually its definitely at least 1000 unless the owner is a terrible tuner. The buggy, I assume, has some sort of LS corvette engine. LS7s fit great in Tatum buggies, and a twin turbo LS7 is at least that much if not 1200. Do some research

lol.. did you see the size of the engine? If they put that all in the rear, and added a row of seats- im willing to be it would be a wheelie monster, and considering the hill they were climbing- that would end bad. Plus, if you jump it, thatd go bad too. Other than that, a second row of seats would be badass.

Mids and rears handle differently and ride differently, some guys are better at driving mids, some are better at rears. Mids tend to be better hill shooters, but can't dune as well.
