  • Lovely Hawaiian music played beautifully. Thanks Lee.

  • Aloha Lee,

Heard you play at the KCC Scholarship Awards banquet at the Hale Koa Hotel on September 2, 2010..

I enjoyed the concert. wish I could play like that.. Only completed John Williams' classical guitar book I years ago.. no lessons though so couldn't tell if I was correct. Good to hear someone like you for inspiration..

all I do is play bass for the Lord in church..

    God bless you,

    Philip Enomoto, Realtor

  • Can you share what tuning you are using?

  • I based it on the version by Keola Beamer. It's published and is in Keola's slack key guitar book. I'll dig it up and post the tuning.

  • @daffydoug

    Aloha daffydoug,

I dug out the music and it's in F Wahine tuning.

    Starting from the high E string it's, E, C, G, C, F, C.

It's published by Homespun Tapes, "Keola Beamer, Hawaiian Slack Key Guitar" distributed by Hal Leonard. It comes with a beautiful cd of Keola, as well.

    Great stuff!

  • @LeeEisenstein Thanks man! I appreciate it! Such beautiful, peaceful melody!

  • Mahalo, (thank you). Yep, it's beautiful music for sure. Enjoy!

  • That is one of the prettiest most soothing melodies I have ever heard on the guitar.

I wish there were a tab available

  • Yes, Keola's slack key compositions are among the most beautiful.

  • That is amazing! I wish I could play like that. You live in Lanikai, right?

  • Mahalo!

I split my time between Kailua and the Big Island. Am mostly on the B.I. right now.

A high fidelity version of this tune will be on my next cd, which I hope to have out early next year.

    Aloha!

  • Aloha & Mahalo yamamabrown.

Kevin Smith of skystudio is the photographer. He's a great, award winning Hawaii photographer and has several videos posted to youtube.

I first saw Kevin's work at the former Venus Cafe in Kailua where I played and they featured his work.

Brad White and I will be releasing new White Eisenstein cd's starting early next year and will include slack key pieces. If folks like my kī hōʻalu playing, I'll then do a recording of all slack key music.

    Mahalo!

  • Beautiful Hawaiian music...... just lovely Lee.

Also awesome backdrop picture for your

SONGS FOR A DREAMER album cover shown at the beginning.

    Who was the photographer?

  • Mahalo and glad you enjoyed the music.

    Yes, Hawaii no ka oi.

  • brings back happy memories of 6 unforgettable weeks in the Islands
