it is the 4.0. cherokees only had a 4.0 or a 2.5 4 banger.

i used to have those on mine. a 73 jeep with the old school AMC v8. nice mufflers... held up for quite a while. dumped em to go even louder with flowmasters.

it sounds pretty good throughout the RPM range, but especially in the low end. it sounds much different outside than it does from inside.
