  • @AzeriMagicStrings

    Thank you, Elmar!

  • I listen to a lot of medieval music - ever since I took a music history class in college 25 years ago. I really like your playing and this is a wonderful dance piece.

  • Do you have tabs or sheet music of this?

  • @Lincoln2000

See among the videos of my channel: you'll find some sheet music. Sorry, no tabs available, I don't use tabs.

  • @Fabyr

Sheet music is perfect. Thank you.

  • do you have facebook site?

  • @playcollections

Sorry for the delay in replying. Anyway I haven't a site in Facebook. Best regards, Fabyr

  • Thanks for preserving this age of music! Nice!

  • My favorite version of this dance. Thank You)

  • @Smbsmth

Thanks a lot for your appreciation. Kind regards.

  • Really good version, congrats. :)

I think you couldn't do it better on classical guitar. :)

  • @gorskipotok

Thanks, glad you've enjoyed the tune. Best regards, Fabyr.

  • Hey man could you put up some sheets or tabs for this i need to know how to play this its so powerful

  • @teamvibralux

At present I've not much time to write music. Hope to find time in a future not too far :-) Thanks for commenting.

  • this is badass

  • thanxx man, for people like you who upload their classical music videos, me and the people can upgrade skills.

  • @playcollections

Thank you so much, nice to know this videos can be useful to other musicians.Greetings, Fabyr

  • @LukeStreblow

John Renbourn realized some video tutorials and a book of tabs called - if my memory is correct - Celtic and Medieval Tunes. The LP record was titled The Lady and the Unicorn. The publisher of the written music(tabs and score) was Stephen Grossmann.Best wishes, Fabyr.

  • now there is a relic of an instrument. wonderful aged sound.

  • Right on

  • @Vegetanthony

    Thank you!

  • Nice playing man but the quality is pretty bad, you should try to upload a cleaner sounding video cause the playing sounds great.

  • @AdoreYouInAshXI

Thank you very much for your comment. This is one of the early videos of my channel and the quality ( audio and video ) was very low indeed. Maybe one day I'll try again with a better uploading. Cheers

  • Love this! What tuning are you using on your guitar?

  • @spkenn36

Thanks for commenting! Here I've used a standard tuning , but usually the third string ( G ) is dropped down ( F diesis ) as the lute.

  • @Fabyr Thankyou so much, can I ask if there are tabs available for this?

  • @spkenn36

Hi! Sorry, I've never used tabs so I haven't any. For tabs I suggest to see John Renbourn's ones. The best for sure. Best regards.

  • ¡BRAVO, BRAVO!! :D

  • @chompypunk890

Thanks, glad you've enjoyed the piece! Cheers!

  • Very nice.

Where can I find this tab ?

  • @MacGiver2007

I think the best tab of this tune is the one by John Renbourn, very clear and simple to read . John plays in open tuning, therefore his version of this song has a different fingering from mine. I suppose you'll be able to find John's tablatures through his site.Best regards.

  • WOW Awesome Awesome Awesome man!!!

  • @barryUFF

    Thanks for your friendly comment!

  • Fabyr,

I was wondering, what guitar is that? It looks similar to one I'm hoping to buy, and if they are, I'm overjoyed.

    Great playing by the by!

    Thanks.

  • @Theskepticuser

Thanks for your comment and appreciation. The guitar is a Rodriguez classic-electric. Yamaha and Takamine are also very good , I 've played on those guitars too. Best regards.

  • Very impressive

I like the melody alot, Awesome

  • @1dillontaylor

    Thank you,friend! Very kind!

  • ***** BEAUTIFUL FABYR *****

  • Glad you like this music, thanks dear friend!

  • This sounds very nice.

Do you have any tabs for that?

  • @donndenic

Thanks for commenting. No tabs available, just music score for flute, sorry.

  • Great arrangement and great playing, congratulations !

  • Thank you!

  • please, man please teach me this!!!!

  • I suggest you to search for JohnRenbourn's version: he did also a good tab for this and others medieval tunes. Of course his version is much better than mine: he is a living legend...I'm not. Learn from the best masters. John Renbourn recorded this piece in The lady and the unicorn.

    Anyway he used open tuning.

  • Grazie!

  • man you are MAGIC! Please tell us where to find score or tab, pleaaaaaase! Awesome!

  • Thanks a lot! I'm going to add a video about medieval music score next Sunday. Here. If I'm not wrong John Renbourn has already published- years ago- a collection of these tunes arranged for guitar ( score and tabs ). But in his version the guitar must be prepared and used with special open tunings ( that I don't use ). Regards.

  • Hey... I learned this WAY back and forgot all about it.

Send me a score too piz :D

Or at least the composer's name (if it's known)

  • Soon I'll add a video about the score of medieval tunes. Composer unknown, as for most medieval songs and dances. Try a research in the web :Jacopo da Bologna, Orlando di Lasso and Jaufre' Rudel can be a good start to find music score of the Middle Age.Then you'll find right connections to this piece. Regards.

  • I have no problem finding medieval scores... just this one.

Ya said you would send it to the other guy... why not me :D

Recorder version is fine... maybe I'll try a self duet.

  • I have been watching this video continually since I found it, I love the arrangement. I would greatly appreciate it if you could send me the score. That would be wonderful and I would have a new song to play and relax to after a stressful day at work. Thank you in advance.

  • Thanks for your comment. I'll send the score , but it's for recorder or guitar and recorder. I haven't got a version for guitar solo but you can easily modify the simple version of the score as most guitarists do. Reading and watching is the best way to learn.Greetings.

  • bravo..might you have a tab to share?

  • Thank you! I don't know if there are tabs for this piece. I've the music score, if you want.

  • Thanks for your kind and enthusiastic comment.

I learnt this piece some centuries ago when I was...sigh...young just listening to a group that was performing in my town. Then I became a music teacher and played this for fun.

  • Excellent! I love the rythym of a saltarello!

Do you have anything available on CD or can you recommend other artists that play this style of music that have anything available?

Thanks so much for posting this! Ive really enjoyed it!

  • Thanks for your comment. I think the best guitar version of medieval music is the one of John Renbourn in the album The lady and the unicorn.

    Take that cd,it's great!

  • Very Good! Hey, where you frommm??? I'm from Chile. How time learn this song?

    By

  • Thanks, muchas gracias! I'm from Italy.I play this song just for fun,it's an italian dance of the Middle Age. How long does it take to learn this? Well...ten minutes is too much? : )

  • Trotto-Saltarello.

  • But this isn't Saltarello... is Trotto...

  • very beautiful

  • WOW! Very Nice!.

  • Wonderfull!

  • does anyone know where i can get the tabs for this song? I'd love to lean it myself :)

  • Simply gorgeous. I love Saltarellos.

I have a version of this and I can poorly play it on oboe. You put me to shame, but you are an amazing musician.

  • bello

  • Molto bello!

    Bravo

  • bravissimo

  • Thats a Ductia, not a saltarello

  • this is saltarello. I'm a music teacher and all the texts and recordings give this name for this piece. Greetings

  • I've heard this played with tin whistle and hurdy-gurdy. It was excruciating. This is much better. This is lovely. You could actually dance to this instead of just cringing and screaming.

  • bravissimo!

  • WOW!

Where can I get tab for this?

  • you said its in standard tuning, but it cant be, your A string is infact a G# or did i miss something? Realy enjoyed this one

  • Perhaps he has tuned to 415 herz?

  • Dear Fabyr, I am your great fan :))

  • brilliant

  • This was very enjoyable thank you

  • I love you!!!!!!!

  • Just great... Loving medieval and folkish tunes, so, would you be so kind as to give us a tab of it?

  • a beautiful song, well played, it's good to relax with this type of songs....not disturbing at all...is there any known author?

  • Thaaaaank yooooou!

Took me long ago and far away.

  • Isn't this trotto, and your one labeled trotto actually saltarello?

  • yes it is i think he mixed it. when you click on his video trotto you can hear saltarello lol

  • Thank you so much for sharing such a powerful music, and well played.

I've somehow started to learn how to play on an electric bass, and i'm trying to find unusual tabs for bass, instead of what everyone plays... like nirvana or other bands that everyone knows how to play.

So i thought that saltarellos and "ancient" music would be a good change a bass player... The problem is that i can't find any tabs for it... sigh.

Again, very well played, thank you.

  • Sounds great But this is not

    Saltarello

  • ummmm...yeah it is.

  • oh wait, you're right, it's the Lamento de Tristan, isn't it?

  • So beautiful a rendition! Wonderful! Can you explain the chords and the guitar tuning please?

  • That was really awesome. I'd like to ask your opinion as teacher of musicology on this :D

If I were to go back in time to the 14th century and play a blues or rock song, do you think the people of that time would consider it amazing and incredible and revolutionary or would they just "not get it". Did rock music just appear because "it was time"?

  • Thank you for watching my video and for your intelligent question. What I can say is that in ancient music there's more " modernity and progressive "than in many pieces of our days.Technology opens new prospectives BUT...how much modern rock was just TAKEN from ancient music and turn into rhythmic seq.? Musician of the pre-bachian period were courageous experimentators. Ciao from Italy.

  • nice view Metabog!

  • Ciao, bravissimo; bellissime sensazioni che tramandi!

Conosci la versione dei Dead Can Dance? Che ne pensi?

    Ancora bravissimo!

  • Grazie,novembrine1.

  • Sorry: Real Master!

    Sounds better!

  • Mr. Fabyr: You are a really Master!

    All your videos are priceless!

    Obrigada por compartilhá-los conosco!

  • good music!!! I love this music. but I never play this music because the tab this music is not in the internet

  • John Renbourn and other acoustic guitar masters have published tabs for these pieces BUT...special tunings for guitar, while I use (here) standard tuning.

  • I'd never have thought that this could sound THIS great on just a single instrument. Really, really great work, thanks for sharing it.

(One of my all-time favourite pieces of music, by the way!)

  • Thanks a lot indeed for your comment.

  • Nice, very nice work there.

  • Thanks ,Geou

  • Well...I just hear and play, no need written music. Anyway I know that John Renbourn has published tablatures and score of medieval and celtic music. But he often uses special tunings ( I don't ).

  • Bonjour,

Merci.

  • Thanks for your comment. As a teacher of musicology I can assure that the right title of this piece is Saltarello. I don't use open tuning and never use tabs, sorry. For Trotto see my oth.video

  • bravissimo 5 stelle

    ciao luciano

  • Ti ringrazio moltissimo, Luciano.
