okay so, being the total noob and tech un-savvy person I am. I went online while my acekard 2i was in my DSi.

after this, it stopped working. even when I tried to clear everything off my microSD and then reput everything in.

I also noticed that if I don't have the update .nds files on it, it works on my friend's DSlite, (but not my DSi, it doesn't work with/without the update files)

so I'm wondering how I can get the acekard 2i to work again?

Acekard 2i has a contact issue with the DSes. This causes the card to slip out of contact with DS and freeze. The DS Lites freeze when the "game card" or in this case flash cart is removed. So its falling out of contact with the DS. Nintendo does not have access to the internal chip or the DS. I have experience with these, trust me. Theres an easy fix for this its called the "paper trick". You slip a thick piece if paper under the pcb and it no longer happens.
