I was brought as a Christian. I am now an atheist. I have tried Christianity. There is no evidence, even the feelings you have are natural psychological processes. Thats why all religions have them.
Looking at Christianity from the outside it seems like one great scam. “We have no evidence, just believe. If you believe you get Heaven! We cant prove it exists and we don’t have to deliver until you die. If you don’t believe you get hell. That will keep you in line”. Why would a real God simply require that you believe in him? What does he get from it? And why would a loving God send you to burn in hell forever when he doesn’t provide evidence?

I assert that the Christian God cannot be both loving and send people to hell. He is obviously a human construct. It is not loving to provide no evidence of belief and then put the unbelievers in hell for eternity, or even at all. It is not justice to provide a disproportionate sentence of eternity for a finite existence on earth.

Looking at Christianity from the outside it seems like one great scam. “We have no evidence, just believe. If you believe you get Heaven! I assert that the Christian God cannot be both loving and send people to hell. He is obviously a human construct. It is not loving to provide no evidence of belief and then put the unbelievers in hell for eternity, or even at all. It is not justice to provide a disproportionate sentence of eternity for a finite existence on earth.

John Adams's Treaty of Tripoli, which was unanimously ratified in the senate, specifically states in article 11: "the Government of the United States of America is not, in any sense, founded on the Christian religion". Also, last time I checked, the last time Christianity ruled the world it was called the Dark Ages.

However, we follow the US Constitution, which was written in the age of enlightenment by mostly deists who added the establishment clause, which separates the church from the state. It is a secular government based on reason and legitimized by the people. and religion doesn't change.. at all. It's governed by strict rules and dogma. This is why there is a "god of the Gaps" method of thinking within religion, especially christianity.
