I would die for my pitbull She's a sweet beautiful dog. My parents are always fighting and making me the center of the problems. My pitbull makes everyday easier to get through. If i lost her, i dont know what i would do... Pitbulls are my life, raised with them since birth, and ill defend the breed til my last breath......SCREW BSL!

I had dogs all around me all my life even theses so call 'dangerous' dogs and I don't mean just the Pits, I mean German Shepards,Rotties,Masfits, Dobies and I got slopped kissed by almost everyone of thoses dogs plus Boxers, they should not take everyone's bests friends just because of their breed and the idotic stories about them but if they meet a really sweethearted dog and leave the poo fellas alone so screw the BSL and let us have our dogs

I live in CA and I did not know that Ohio was trying to pass this law.... what a waste of money and resources... who are the ppl that proposed this and who are the congressmen that supported it... what a waste of time and money... there are more important issues like global warming and the recession than worrying bout dog attacks... if they attack its cuz stupid ppl were negligent or somebody tried to do something that made the dog feel threatened.. shame on whoever supports this stupid proposal

I have a pit and she's the sweetest thing ever. She will lay there and love it while my 18 month old crawls over her and plays with her lips and gives her big kisses, all she's ever done is give her kisses back and wag her tail retardedly while my daughter is trying to pull her tail. My dog loves the attention

I used to have 2 pitbulls but my one Slim died on the 25 of July this year : ( But we still have my last one Rocky. Hes very loving.

For those of us who are blessed to be Proud Pittie Parents (my Stafforshire Bull Terrier is my service dog) we need to continue to fight BSL. Most who agree with BSL, do so out of ignorance. When anyone is hurt or killed by "man's best friend" it is horrifying and people want revenge so they don't stop to realize that the revenge must be against those who create the problem - the money hungry 2-legged monsters. Ppl need to get facts straight before you condemn pits - they are excellent family dogs. Check American Temperament Testing site. Problem comes when 2-legged monsters abuse, torture, and drug them to make them aggresive - then horrible things happen. Until then, these are GREAT family dogs, wonderful, the best with children! Check your facts! No locking jaws, no inherent, inbred madness - come on! DNA modification? Owner greed & evil is the truth. When raised right - they are BEST!

its no t just pit bulls on that list...3 of my 4 dogs are on that list and 4 of my dogs who have passed own are on that list and future dogs of mine will be on that list...but none were pits....my best friend is a rott...and the best dog i ever had was a wolf hybrid i had for 15 years...this law is sooooo wrong...i would die if someone took away my Bruno (my rott)

Yes, but if I hit you in the head (or any other dog) with a hammer over and over you will let go, not bite down harder, lock your jaw and fight until you are dead. Pit-bulls have a switch in there brain that puts them in to kill mode. That's what they where bread to do. Is got nothing to do with up bringing its all instinct. The males display this behavior more that the females but it is still evident in both sexes. Are you not tired of hearing about some little kid getting face eaten off?

1st, total myth that pits have lock jaw. That "switch" is called adrenaline. They're headstrong. 3rd, pits were originally bred to take down large game like bears. 4th, girls are more territorial than boys. 5th, I hate hearing about the kids that get hurt.. but I hate that the media only focuses on the stories with the pits, that usually aren't pits anyway. That pisses me off too because out of the MANY dogs I've had, pits have been the best breed I've had to work with.

Fine then have the owners of the dogs that do attack be brought up on murder charges. Unlike the slap on the wrist that they get now. Your dog hurts or kills some kid you go to jail for 15 to 20 years. Does that sound fair?

I'd GLADLY serve time if it meant my dog would be safe. Either way, its not fair. But fortunate enough for me, I KNOW how to raise my dogs; proper socialization. One of my pits is a THERAPY DOG. Out of the five pits I've ever had, only one has EVER bit someone and she was defending ME when someone broke into my house and had a knife to my throat. & she STILL was put down! Sorry, didn't know it was a BAD thing to protect your owner. And yes, bears. All terriers were bred for hunting.

I agree with this. I even believe that MOST pits are good MOST of the time. But once one is in killing mode, it will not let go. Scary. And I don't give a toss whose fault it is, the dogs or the owners. neither will the victim. I think a pit bull debate is like a gun debate, really. Course it's the gun holder that is the problem. They should ban the owners! I've been "babysitting" a amstaff/pitbull cross and she always listens to me when i tell her to "come here, let go, sit with more" and she's only 1 year old. (i'm swedish, correct my "listens" if you want)
