  • How can i get your DVD?

  • looks like the place from the "kickboxer" great movie btw

  • I like your videos

Do you have an instructional DVD?

  • THIS IS REALLY VERY GREAT PLACE FOR TRAINING

  • do you work out in the forest?

  • Thanks great video :)

  • sometimes when i'm bored i cover myself in grease , sit on my stove and pretend to be a chicken wing

  • lol I do mma and I boxed first...I went back into my basic/original boxing stance and I felt so much more comfortable and I was also noticing my punches and kicks came off more fluidly. Thanks for the vid. Glad it popped up for me.

  • Excellent work - thanks! I'll be bookmarking all of your videos and putting the tips to work in the gym.

  • any1 who really boxes the way these vids instruct will surely lose a fight

  • sick. best instructor on youtube. oh yeah i like your accent too not in a gay way.

  • @sunnybash1 u sound like braveheart i swear down

  • Everyday i go to the library. get on the youtube and take your lessons to heart. Some guys saw me watchin ur videos and they laughed at me and asked me if i was a boxer. I really want to answer that question with action so i'll keep studying and practicing your videos. and if theres anyway i can send u cash in exchange for ur book u let me know. i dont have a credit card.

  • very pro, many people would pay good money to be taught by you, great teacher

  • I've got a question, In boxing, are you restricted to Jab,Hook and Uppercut?

It's the only things I've seen boxers do, but I've never heard anything of you not being allowed to do, let's say "Down-cut" which then would be a strike down to the top of the opponents head? Anyone know?

  • Hey good and informative videos for beginners and good reminders for the more advanced. Should put up videos about diet and maybe how you keep in shape.

  • You're awesome. Thanks.

  • You, sir, are awesome. A good teacher too. Thank you!

  • I just watched the 8 videos... They are great!

Liked the one about the left hook.

Wish I could find a boxing club with that kind of coach.

    Thank you!

  • GRACIAS AMEGO!!

  • @bonvibant el problema es que no sabria como hacerlo, intentare hayar una forma :D

  • THIS...IS...SPARTA!!!

  • I have been looking for a well made informative video on how to box for a long time now and this is by far the best i have seen. everything else i have tried has felt weird/unnatural but the way you teach it makes it feel comfortable smooth and perfect, thank you very much! I hope ill be kicking some serious ass soon :D

  • @zoomingpoop good luck on kicking some serious ass. I am glad that I can be of assistance. Please keep posted we have some real cool and some quite controversial videos coming soon. You know you can really get in my mind in my ebook Fighting Your Demons. I wrote the book just after returning from 5 years in Iraq. That my friend is very powerful information on being a real warrior and understanding courage, fear, determination, intimidation and really, really kicking ass.

  • fightingyourdemons. com will get you right there

  • @Dennythetrainer Dude im so gona watch all of your videos now!!! i wish you could come to Norway and start a gym near Bergen! xD

  • o shit i always knew i was a natural fighter lol

  • A scottish khnight with a punch bag...great info !

  • I might be mistaken but isn't it southpaw and orthodox? please can someone set me straight?

  • good ole irish accent. atleast i think its irish

  • @michiganfan51 Isn't he Australian?

  • @michiganfan51

    Scottish, Glasgow area.

  • I dont get it :L so If im right handed I have my left foot forward? That FEELS normal but ive been told otherwise

  • @xPowerofwillx you were tought wrong, man.

  • @TwistedKidProduction haha well I defied what I had heard and went with what felt natural... and it was right :D

  • @xPowerofwillx good choice lol

  • great lesson

  • RELAX ! ;)

  • I understand the logic and initial comfort of it but you have to remember not only do you need to develop a left straight with power but also accuracy

  • Now I have a question . The conventional wisdom says right handed guys should fight "natural" left foot foward . Why ? There are a ton of "Southpaws" these days who are top level boxers and are right handed . 70% of your shots are thrown with the lead hand , why not lead with the stronger hand ? Winky Wright did this , De la Hoya is a lefty but fights "natural" . What are your thoughts ?

  • @MindofaJedi Because regardless of how strong you are, you're probably not going to knock out someone with a jab, even if it's your stronger hand. Your hooks would be deadly, but your straight wouldn't be. Check out some Sonny Liston fights, the guy was a beast, I think he was a natural south paw, but fought orthodox, his jab is amazing and long. He was built like a tank though. It's pretty much what works for you.

  • I'm sold I had to sub

  • @majoradamsredback come on now its just a name thers alredy a million videos called ''training' or ''tecniques'' wat evz myan

  • tHANKS YOU REally helped me in my kickboxing training... :)

  • man vs. wild

  • THIS GUY REMIND ME OF WILLIE FROM THE SIMPSONS!

  • @adix4 lol.....

  • @adix4 lol xD

  • thnx for ur tips...but i'm right handed and i'm more comfortable with right foot infront...how is that?

  • @Codsrock Not optimal. If you're right handed your right hand would be your "strong" punch correct. You will pack a stiff jab but not much else. Your "weak" hand is your jab hand. A fly swatter. Keeps your opponent at bay and doesnt require power to be effective. With your right hand back you can twist your upper body and hips for a full power straight punch following the jab.

  • @deano791 Oh i see, by that it gives my "strong" hand more power in its execution. Thnx for the details man it helps a lot. But i was thinking if you put your right infront, it's much closer to your opponent and you can do an easy right hook while maintaining your left hand defense.

  • @Codsrock yea that is true but with a bit of practice your quick left hook out in front will be just as effective. Try this : left in front ok, swing a quick left hook followed by a right hook swaying ur hips right to left with each swing. You see your left hook will allow you to put more momentum into what will be your stronger knockout hook

  • @deano791 Think about this though , How many punches do you throw with your back hand ? Probably like a third or less . I like throwing a hard jab and a mean short hook with my stronger hand . Then I only need to develop a straight left with power , even if it is only 85% of the power of a straight with my right , 70% of the shots I land are harder than they would be fighting orthodox . I am not a pro though . I watch Andre Ward switch up mid round sometimes , but he is very skilled .

  • Yeah, I train left handed but I'm really right, my opponents surprised when I switch it up

  • yeah thats the to the boxing stands guy!!!!

  • at 1:17 R2D2 disagrees

  • Comment removed

  • yea im right handed but i feel more relaxed n gudd n da south paw stance all da tyme i would try 2 shadow box i star off witt orthodox but i will always go bak 2 south paw y is datt? n i am also a new begginer

  • @albertdakid123 Same here bro!

  • great video's mate always wanted to learn to box propperly but due to ill have health been unable to train asking your expert advice of course best way i found to help get physically fit is cardio running, swimming and circuits and so on but is also worth having a weight training routine to help build muscle mass i found that training gave me a whole new out look on life and made me feel physically and mentally better about myself and want to get back into it badly cheers

  • Is it bad that i box with my left foot in front and im left handed?

  • @RememberYourRootsMus Im righthanded and stay normally with my right foot in front.

Its very unorthodox to take your strong arm as a jab, but you can use this to your advantage, as most enemies will be surprised.

Its not "bad", its just what you make out of it :)

  • inspired !

  • why is he training in the woods like a hobo. you can see him scratching his mosquito bites at the beginning.

  • @rumvodkaf1

Why are you training in a gym like a bitch?

  • @pschodog3 no if you were training in the gym youd be the bitch ! lol

  • now i learned how to dance..first dance fast than throw rocket punches like M. ALi used to do with cleveland williams

  • it's ok if i leave my right hand next to my abs instead isn't it? It's just another style right?

  • Leonidas?? OMG!!! But This is not Sparta!

  • LOVE seeing ALL of your videos...really GREAT! I think, it's EXCELLENT instruction. So glad to have discovered them, just now, today. Keep 'em coming... ;-)

  • wow sooo detailed it helped me a lot.

  • realy great video, nice advices , really helpful. thank you so much.

  • great vid

  • hey heyy!!! whats that song in the ending???!!! you should have put credits too! :O

  • To tell our enemies, that they may take our lives! BUT THEY WILL NEVER TAKE OUR FREEEDDDDOOOOOMMMM!!!!!!!!

  • @AuturgyFilms THIS IS SPARTAAAA!!! wait is that the same movie? XD

  • as a girl, i have been in confrontational scenes a couple of times, not daring to speak up because i dont have the backing of something like this, something strong. i intend to follow your video's and hope this is going to provide me some strenght for future confrontations. I hope they dont come but you can never know in these mean streets! Thank you so much!

  • Iám going to be honest now.. I really belive this guy and what he´s teaching

  • Thank you very much for your vids!

  • @BoyzvithBlueyez didn't really see him strike now did we... people like you who underestimate their opponents get seriously hurt.

  • is he right handed?

  • A boxing bag in the woods now thats legit

  • Wonderful explanation for a starter like me! Thank you!!!! How come I didn't come across your video earlier.... I will also add you on FB. : ))

  • are you a profisinal boxer?

    so not what then?

  • realy boxing is now boring with stars like prince naseem hamed

  • Hey Denny, these are some great videos man. Thanks for putting them up. I have a question about boxing stance. What if you're right handed but feel equally comfortable in a southpaw stance? Should I just practice orthodox stance? Thanks again for the great videos.

  • @JimminytheCricket

You'll naturally feel comfortable in the southpaw stance if you're right handed, I did when I first started.

Now I can't stand southpaw at all without feeling off balance.

  • now thats legit, i want my punching bag in the woods.

  • I need some personal help I dont know how to work the stance at all.

And I need to know how to make a good punch someone help me?

  • Real good stuff!

  • very informative indeed.. so many punks dont deserve your instruction, equally many of us cant get enough..

    thank you

  • I like you Denny

  • Wow... I think I'm gonna start using your videos.. .but did you make all of them on the same day??? If so ... you got stamina boy!!!

  • @403766 ahhaa good one . but seriously i still want to know how to box (:

  • Thanks vor the video's. I show them to my son, and they reinforce what I learned years ago. You are poised and obviously competent.

  • ok QUESTION!! Where can iget boxing lessons for girls ? im black btw

  • thanks Denny :)

  • you are a warrior of the great and mighty

  • wat if im right handed but like using the south paw stance?

  • Denny, these are great tutorials! well done. i wonder if you have any advice on switching ring boxing techniques (both offence and defence) to bare knuckle (for self protection) i'd just like to know your opinion from a boxing perspective.

  • good tips m8 keep it up!!dont worry about the internet trolls they only h8 coz they aint shit themselves!!!

  • for the video

  • thanks

  • Just to inform you the boxing stance for right handers, left hand leading as the jab is orthodox

  • great video, really like it

ps. i would like to train in a place like this, so calm

    thanks

  • iv been following your basic boxing lessons and putting them into practice...and my workouts have improved vastly..instead of plugging away at the punchbag as hard as i can i now pace myself keep on my toes, got the jab lookin good and pick the best time to unload the hard punches...your lesson are good for first timers like me who have never boxed before..and more importantly i now look forward to going outside and woking out...cheers fi the mad mental bar-ox edinburgh scotland

  • I have to say that you clearly know what your talking about and you give good demonstrations and impressive that you've had a career lasting over 18 years only question is what would you say is the best way of getting a career into combat sports such as boxing or mma?

  • what way shoul ur hand s be

  • Sorry, I am Brazilian and I do not understand much English, and I am left, and I do not know if the same thing you do on video or I reverse side.

  • @danielfreitaspires If your left handed you would stand exactly opposite to the man inthe video. You are a southpaw, your weaker hand (right hand) will be your leading hand to jab etc.

  • Denny i have being training with your videos for some time, i love boxing, it is difficult for me to travel, there are no clubs or such things around here, unless i drive for 4 hrs, my goal is to join a club when i move for college but i'm concern that it might be too late for me to actually start boxing as a sport.

I know it's never to late, i am very athletic, my question is if it is to difficult to begin at an older age, i am 17 now and will turn 18 very soon, i live in Colorado USA,

  • relax......

  • i thought when you lead with your left it was called orthodox? maybe im wrong?

  • @MrLeebo123 no were did u get that from im the youngster champion of england im 15 years of age and ive never heard of that before

  • Your videos have been really helpful to me. I have a little experience in martial arts, but I'm looking to take up boxing next month. Would it be good for me to practice these basics before my class starts, or do I run the risk of picking up bad habits without an instructor?

  • great job mate and for all you haters saying boxing is crap to mma, ive done mma and if you ask any pro they will tell you boxing and muay thai are used as a basic and important part of training no matter what fighting style majority of fighters train in both. and this is because they are both very elite stand up styles of fighting.

  • I put the comments on here as a subjective observation, to be honest if I did my own video it would be within my own amateur boxing club and not within a forest, but hey each to their own.

  • THX THATS WAHT I M SEARCHING FOR

  • Great video. When you throw the jab though, your fist isn't in line with your arm, it's tilted upwards. You don't want to connect like that unless you want a wrist injury.

  • youtube.com/watch?v=grvRoV3rppU

  • i love your vids. two thumbs up

  • Boxing and combat are not the same ! Boxing is a skill in itself, im sick of none boxers teaching the skill after no experience !

    1. Its called Orthodox not othodox

    2. Left handed are not southpaw as a rule, its whatever they feel comfortable with

    3. Like most MMA type fighters your weight is too far over your front knee (60/40 on your back knee but not a set rule)

    4. Your stance is too narrow, if your stance is too narrow its like walking a tight rope therefore balance and base is reduced

  • @winsford2007 i think you just solidified yourself as a "know it all dumbass" none of your points make any sense. did you just google all of that to be a dick? lol people like you are funny as hell, stupid as fuck and are just a waste of poeples time. get a life dumbass

  • @PRUHVYD1 Peoples

  • Lol, play with it in the mirror :-D Anyway, great vids. I'm getting into mma and parts of these vids really help with the boxing side of it. I was a wrestler so i'm fairly new to standup.

  • @aidanpoole12

    This is madness!! :))

    Great vid by the way!

  • Love what you are doing, I started watching the skipping vid, makes loads of sense, good job!

  • @dreidl19380 Kinda what I was doing once I realized that's what I was dealing with. Thanks for the post.

  • Really like your video, will be watching the others. I lift heavy weights and would like to speed my self up a little with some boxing... Will keep up with your videos and will post back throughout watching them. Cheers mate.

  • nice man, whats the song called at the end?

  • THIS IS SPARTA !!!

  • @007700ification Rampage Jackson trains in a freezer lol. You see it all.

  • Thinking about getting into boxing, I bounce now for a bar and Im just big so i think this could help greatly

  • @ShotCallz Punching patrons will fuck up your hands and get the bar sued for damages. Learn some jiu-jitsu instead. Being able to clinch, control and get the guy outside is much better legally, strategically, and business-wise. Most of all, learn to defuse situations verbally and with body language. Being big is a good start but learn to make the most of it.

  • @MrMZaccone Thanks for the suggestion Ill look it up. Thanks Man.

  • @MrMZaccone yea totally cause trying to do an armbar while his buddie is stomping your face in, is really productive in a street fight.

wait, what? lmfao what mma has done to peoples perceptions of street fights is hilarious.

  • @thecrazyoftheinsane About as productive as busting your hands on his skull while his buddy busts in your head with a bottle or a chair. Bringing up the multiple attacker thing PROVES you don't know shit about streetfights or good Jiu-Jitsu. It also proves you don't know a strawman argument when it comes out of your mouth. I'm not talking about MMA, and I'm not talking about sport bullshit Jiu-Jitsu. I'm talking about things that will actually work. Try reading the post again.

  • @MrMZaccone lmao and how would that be prevented by doing jujitsu? you obviously dont know anything when it comes to street fighting, as its pretty easy to see that you have never been in a fight before. Im not saying jujitsu is completely useless, im just saying in a fight you want to end the guy as fast and as painfully as possible and thats pretty hard to do when your wrestling the guy.

  • @thecrazyoftheinsane How that would be prevented would be obvious if you knew anything about fights in bars, which is the subject, not streetfighting. What you've presented is called a "strawman argument" but then, you wouldn't know what that means. Go troll somewhere else.

  • @MrMZaccone lol i didnt mis interpret what you were saying you dumb fuck. Either on the street or in a bar it doesnt really matter, its hilarious that you think having a wrestling match with one guy while his buddie stomps your face in is really going to help you not get robbed. Maybe when your old enough to get into a bar, get in a fight, and tell me how that goes for you hahahaha retard.

  • @thecrazyoftheinsane I've taught bar security for the last twenty years dipshit and I've put guys like you out the door and laughed as the cops put the cuffs on them and hauled them away. Now, give mommy back the keyboard and go troll somewhere else.

  • @MrMZaccone hahahaha its hilarious when people try and make claims like this over the internet, makes me laugh every time. I know your trying really hard to impress me with your fake job and the fact that you try so hard with your grammar to make sure everything is perfect, but seriously no one believes you so just shut the fuck up. haha

  • @thecrazyoftheinsane Troll, troll, troll. Have fun with that.

  • i feel like an utter goon trying to get into my boxing stance, would it feel more natural the more i practice it?

  • Studied a few videos ......so far dennys channel is the best !

  • hi i was wonderin if somone could help coz im right handed but the stance that feels most comftable is the southpaw stance so should i force myself into natural or am i a southpaw

  • @RandyNumNutz .......i too am stronger with my right but ........i fight better as a south paw .............bruce though being a martial artist also preferred his right side forward . I know its different to what we are taught ......but when my trainer showed me how to counter an orthodox fighter as hes jabbing i was a a natural south paw even though i am right handed . what i did do was build the strength in my left side abdonminals and , left leg and also my lower left side back ........

  • @dannyisk thank you for your advice :]

  • @dannyisk This is pretty interesting. I was trained orthodox, and to me, to fight left feels like forgetting my wallet, or not wearing a seat belt. However, while playing around at home, I found that my wife and son(both right handed) assumed a southpaw stance. I quickly gave up on the wife, but was able to turn my son. Maybe I should let him go how he feels natural, but then I wouldn't know how to teach him traditional techniques. Any ideas? Thanks

  • @wrobinson7 well look it took about 3 weeks of adjustments but i recently had a fight and i owned as a south paw............here one idea double jab the othodox s jab move to your right and then let the left cross or hook rip - or single jab the orthodoxes jab, slipp right then right hand body with right lead followed by right lead hook and then let the left go to the head .

  • @RandyNumNutz Suprise everybody and learn it both ways.

  • THIS IS MADNESS

  • @meteoramarc MADNESS!? THIS IS SPARTAA! >:)

  • hai fatto un grandissimo lavoro!!! grazie tante

  • good video.....

  • i enjoy learning how to shadow box in his vidoes god instructer.

  • This is BOXING!!

  • Hey Denny

You have a good way of getting your point across. I'd argue that your weight's 'leaning' over your front leg a little too much, this can cause balance problems. I'd also say that your jab explanation overlooks the importance of the lower body when throwing the shot. It takes all styles I suppose and if the shot lands, its a good shot!

    Cheers Denny

    Fran

  • Awesome videos, i love them. I want to become a boxer. At the moment i'm 15 and i'm about to graduate, going to join the marine corps and start boxing over there. I hope they see something in me :D, anyways, you're awesome, i've watched every video of yours ^^. KEEP IT UP!. Hooray for Denny :D

  • Man kinda boring... But you know what you're talking about though.

maybe you should post some videos that explain different styles, not only the traditional style.

  • Just ignore the comments, good videos.

  • Great videos, great message. Don't feed the trolls. Pity them.

  • Hey @BruceLeeCaanTFight - don't be a little girl and head over to my profile and comment where no one can see...bring it here where everyone can see.

This way all my guys in facebook and twitter can read your comments.

"haha thats why you're australian. Bruce cant fight, you look like some kind of soldier. If you have ever ben in action. Did you use BRuce lees fighting style! Dumbass no you didnt otherwise you'd be dead"

  • What can I say to that you little insignificant little person?

I am Scottish - I though the accent would have gave that away. But of course, you are wise and the people should listen to what you say - right?

I am some kind soldier, the kind you wouldn't want to bump into day or night. I have had my fair share of action in five conflicts spanning over a career of 18 years.

I teach close combat and do actually agree with you that most martial arts are shit. However...

  • ....I have to say - Bruce Lee COULD fight when he was alive and I have to say that I have learned loads from him. He teaches ways how to feel the energy flow through your body which creates force which snaps out at the end of a movement whether that be in attack or defensive.

I think little angry fools like you are great. I only answer to you from time to time because you are good entertainment for my clients and fans.

To all my facebook and twitter fans...you got to love these guys!

    Denny

  • @Dennythetrainer

How do you feel the energy flow through your body to create force?

  • @Dennythetrainer can you add me on facebook? ghanisht nagpal thanx from india!
