Actually, I don't see anything critical about changing his appearance if it made him feel good,as long as he was not hating his race, which I DO NOT believe he did. However, he knew that he would be judged, which is why he told untruths. Just like he obviously did about his nose jobs & his kid's blood line.

However in show biz, your physical image is part of the publicity package, along with avoidable scandals in the press that welcome public assaults. If you are an entertainer & you lose sight of this, you can loose in the court of public opinion. In MJ's case: American industries & Hollywood presses. He was naive & paid for it. Thank God for die hard fans & the legacy of music & magic he left behind.
