Hey I just Built one like that from parkjets .com. I put the CG where they say (60mm back from front edge) but it pitches up and down alot when I put my fingers on the CG. Can you help me?
I'm not very familiar with that one but generally speaking Hydroplane are a little weird when it comes to balancing it given to the weight of the engine well above the center line, the weight of the floats below the center line and the weight of your electronics sitting on the center line this is the reason why pitches up and down alot when you put your fingers on the CG.
a quick and easy way to see if your CG is corect is holding the plane from theCGon the top of the fuselage up to your head level and let it fall, you will easily notice that the nose goes down first if is nose heavy or tail first if is tail heavy . be careful with your throttle control because of the position of the engine this plane will go into dive if you suddenly accelerate I'm sure that in the plans they recommend to mount the engine with a few degrees up to help reduce this problem
I'm sorry man but I did not make PDF for this plane
this was just a quick put together project because the next day the family was going to a lake and they wanted to see if I could design a flying boat, what you just whatch was the maiden flight
Hi dan , would you have a link to pdf plans for your hydro plane?
