amazing story really ,,,,, Victor hugo was amazing he surpassed racine and corneille in real tragedy... it is the ugly but loving against the evil but powerful against the handsome but unfaithful .... Esmeralda is young and innocent she goes for the last she pay the price of her innocence.... the right way to do it was to go with the priest to avoid his evil and betray him with the pretty soldier and than take advantage as much as she can from quasimodo without giving him anything in return

Yeah, me too. Although, in the book - he is unfortunately quite seriously deformed. But with a soul like that with that much love and devotion, you'd either have to be blind or foolish to reject him. I wouldn't. :P

Exactly! I don't think there's a way you could seriously capture his deformity with stage makeup. It's too impossible. I'll admit they did a good job here, but Quasi's supposed to be uglier than this. But I don't care. I love his character no matter how ugly he is. He's such a sweetie! ^_^

Phoebus in the novel (I don't know about here, never seen the musical), is a lot like Gaston from Disney's Beauty and the beast- a chauvinistic lady's man. Esmeralda in the novel was shallow so all she cared about was his looks
