OMG, talk about memories! I remember this commercial from my mid-teens. I actually ordered this set! It was the first music I ever ordered. (well, my mom ordered for me) I think I still might have 1 cassette & or case floating around somewhere, but I haven't see it in many years.
When I was a kid and they would say, "save COD charges" on these types of commercials, I didn't know what they meant. I thought they were saying, "Save SeOdi charges".
I thought this commercial was somewhat cool back when I first seen it in the mid 80s. I never thought I'd see it again, especially here on YouTube. Thanks retrorebirth for sharing it with everybody!
I loved this commercial when I was a kid, it totally coincided with the fact I was rejecting all the pop crap I was hearing kids listen to and diving straight into the rock of the '60s and '70s with complete abandon. It's funny seeing this after so many years, I now find a few of the songs listed quite questionable for this collection, like "Love Train" by The 0'Jays? Seals and Crofts? Not exactly the kind of music hippies were grooving to mind you.
Hey man, I thought this was, like, fake, then some others said they actually bought this. It's a damn good collection of music, if you did get pulled in by these pseudo-hippie salesman! Groovy, Peace & Love!
