That's exactly what happened. They ejected so close to the ground that they were severely injured. Some day I'll follow up to see how it all turned out.

Awesome video. And a good lesson on the seriousness of bird strikes. What plane is this? The bird seemed to enter the left intake, so I'm assuming a T-38.

Both ejected but they were too close to the ground. The instructor pilot was severely injured and the student pilot sustained minor injuries.
