Really who cares? I think we should support dance in general. The BellyDance community should be more embracing when it comes to other genres of dance. Not everything now is traditional. I think the performances are very entertaining and unique. It would be boring to see the same routines over and over again. And the video was never titled "Zoe & Friends Belly Dancing". Total dance snobs.

I love Zoe, but this choreography is not belly dance. It is more reminiscent of Burlesque (another thing I love). I really enjoyed it and it incorporated a lot of old school dance moves, just not belly dance moves. For that reason, my opinion is this specific choreography isn't belly dance. Though I still enjoyed watching.

I dont mind the masks, i dont mind the costumes, or the chairs...BUT DONT MIX THIS WITH TRIBAL. It has roots in belly dance and etno costumes with specific jewlery. Zoe disapointed me :(

oh yeah say anything u want for Zoes coreos and music, but i dont here any complaints with unmata, i say thats no bellydance at all, atleast Zoe makes it fun and with a catchy beat...

dont care if u flag me, i still love Zoe and the indigo and other great tribal fusion bellydancers!!!

@shermieliz Unmata can be a little out there, but they still have belly dance in their performance. Though if you found one that doesn't have any belly dance in it. I would like to see it. Since tone cannot always be conveyed through text I would like to inform you this is not meant to be argumentative, just curious discussion. ^_^

@onnishoujo.oh no i dont wanna go argumentative... its just that lately havent seen them do a lot of techinques on their choreo...maybe i need to put more attention to them...cus i know they (unmata) re relly good on their style....im sorry i must retract to what i say before about Unmata....lately i've been opening my mind more to what each style has their unique bellydance...:) but Zoe omg....even her choreos dosnt show a lot of bellydance they still very entertaining and mezmerizing...:)

@shermieliz I agree with you that they haven't done that much technique recently. I also agree that Zoe's choreography is highly entertaining. Although I don't consider this specific piece belly dancing, I was kept entertained. Unmata, although I love them, when I watched a lot of their new performances to find one that doesn't have belly dance in it, they all had some belly dance in it, though I was bored out of my mind watching most of it. So I think I understand your frustration. ^_^

I'm not sure about this performance, but I did enjoy it. Zoe - you are an artist and I think it's wicked you're trying different stuff out. If some people don't like it then so be it. Don't stand still x

I basically came to Tribalfeset to see her.

I think her tribal fusion style bellydancing is amazing.

Burlesque has its place (and I know she was trying something new), but her solo was very short, so I was let down.

There was more modern dance than bellydance at Tribalfest this year
