In the original trailer for the movie (which I don't have only the remastered version) Victor Caroli asks "Does Prime die?" "Then who will lead the Autobots?" "And what is the secret of the monster planet?".
That's odd they gave away a major plot detail like that. I'm surprised I didn't remember something like that, though I didn't see it till it was on VHS.

I can imagine how all the kids felt when they thought he was gonna' live, cause usually they don't die when they say does the main hero die?

The script for Prime's resurrection was already done before the movie was released. It was a sham death. Hahaha.
