  • I wish he said something about Charles Barkley, they are such good friends.

But I liked that he acknowledged Scottie Pippen right in the beginning of his speech (part 1/3).

  • LOL Shaq's speech is going to be funny as shit

  • nice video mate, but leborn james aint no the real king....

lebron james is just OVERRATED period

  • I love this speech gives a great insight into a great man

  • yeah2 it wasnt the prfect speech,it just showed us j the other side, not the corporate media made man...i would hve prefer he made a pippen kind of speech but well its sone i enjoyed it tho it drew a lot of crticisms, over priced tickets,huge2 coverage...

as for me watching, oculdnt hate the guy for saying those, what cn i do?he said ut there, not the place to say it,hes mj,did it again.

  • Not sure why I've heard so many people calling Jordan out for this speech, He picked a few people out but he was never out of line.

That being said, it wasn't an awesome speech by any means.

Shaquille's speech is going to be amazing. I look forward to that day.

  • the greatest ever

  • This was actually a fairly solid speech. Jordan certainly showed a good deal of arrogance, but hey, the guy was the greatest player ever; he didn't get that way by being modest. He came off as bitter a few times. Still, he was completely sincere and deserves credit for that. I don't think that the speech tarnishes him. He's a legend no matter what.

  • the best of all time

  • He's the greatest. Everybody knows it, except those who haven't seen Jordan career, or even at his prime. They usually haven't a clue about him.

MJ is just simply honest. Why speaking with a false modesty?

  • people here that hate jordan's speech .. wants to see him be dishonest and just thank people.

personally i like the speech the fact that its honest, speaking your mind without a rough insult to others.. grow up KIDS! those arent insults those are words that can replace thank you.

i wont tell a lie or be humble just to keep my IMAGE boy! he isnt scared if you think of him that way... why should he its the truth

  • 1:26 that guy from the audience yells, "You're the greatest ever Michael!".

  • He knows his place in history, simply put.

  • Michael Jordan's speech to everyone: Eat it.

    I say: Bravo.

  • David Robinson was the greatest on this night.

  • @ StoneThrowingDevil

No Kidding!!! David Robinson is the epitome of a "Stand up guy". His speech nearly put tears in my eyes when he spoke of his family. He's a great speaker. I grew up in San Antonio, had the luck of meeting him a few times even, and he is all he was in his induction speech. He continues to be a great asset to San Antonio. I bet if he ran for Mayor he'd be a shoo-in! Ha, but really, he is that well respected there.

MJ, on the other hand, lost some of my respect however.

  • Wow, he really loves himself.

  • Rapper "Chamillionaire" has a very interesting tale about Mike too. Youtube it.

  • Jordan was no doubt the greatest to ever play the sport of basketball, what he did with the ball was just amazing and noone in the near future will top that

  • kobe is a piece of shit he will never touch jordan

  • what did the guy at 1:26 scream?

    "the greatest ... "?

  • "your the greatest ever micheal!!"

  • "You give the greatest handjobs, Michael!", I could be wrong though.

  • What a horrible, self-serving speech.

    Ego beyond belief.

I know that great players/people have to have ultra-confidence, but this guy can't even pretend to hide it.

I had heard that he is a prick but I had no idea he was so classless.

His attempts at humour were embarrassing to watch.

    Woo is me Michael.

    Woo is me.

  • are u serious mate? i mean, u really think that?

  • Ya, I really do think that.

And I've always cut athletes a lot of slack because I feel that the media is out to embarrass them.

Mr. Jordan did this to himself.

Differing opinion. No harm in that.

  • Comment removed

  • U dun have to say "Thank you" to thank someone.

I tot he was sincere in his speech and the ppl he singled out probably din think of it THAT way whatsoever.

It's just the media creating hype at his expense.

when he said "i wun wanna be u guys" to his kids, it wasn't something negative at all. Come on man.

Loved the way he put it "Scottie Pippen was there with me in every Championship.."

  • Folks forever hating on Mike. Goto bed. The man gave Thanks to folks who driven him to be better. AND HE IS THE GREATEST. CHECK THE RINGS, STATS,.

  • Mistanderson, you are saying MJ is the greatest cause he has rings? Well, Russell has 11. That means he is the greatest when using our logic

  • No I'm not saying just because he has rings. I did said check the stats too. READ man read. What Jordan did in his career was GREATNESS. If he wouldve stay in the NBA the first time and Jerry wouldn't got rid of everybody Jordan and Pippen wouldve had more rings than Russell

  • I see nothing wrong with this speech. All I see written is EGO.. EGO..jerk..This is a man telling a story about his life ,about why he was so competitive and the people who were responsble for that. I like how he told a story behind everyone he called out..and they all laughed..these are "memories" he didn't disrespect anybody.. in fact he thank them as key people in his career... jeez people need to get a life..

  • I was waiting for something to make my jaw drop...... i didnt see it.... Mike is as competitive of a person as there ever has been... y should that change now? He respects everyone he "called out" and they respect him right back

  • stockton's face lmao he's like "omg what an egotistical jerk"

  • If you knew anything about Micheal Jordan or his career You would know that his high school teammate Leroy Smith said it himself that he did know why he made the team over Micheal because he know that Michael had more talent than he did, I said that he made the team because he was 6'7" and a Micheal was 5"10 at that time.

  • Don't know why people were trippin about the speech, it wasn't vindictive and petty like alot of the media said

  • If you don't think that Jordan flying his high school teammate out there to basically say to him, "I was better than you and should have started ahead of you" WASN'T a punk move, then you are blind. What Mike did to his old teammate was classless and self serving and he should be ashamed of himself.

  • as a rockets fan, I must say that I really don't mind that he jokes about the jazz. lol

But I really did not see much wrong with. it was a little bit iffy, but I think he was trying to be funny. at least I hope so.

  • Great player, no class.

  • I really don't see anything wrong with his speech. He was simply talking about all the things that motivated him and made him as great as he was. That was the thanks that he owed to other people.

  • there was no disrespect by Michael it was all about what drove him through his life and basketball. I have watched Jordan since I was a little kid and as always he is the best and will always be the best and a class act that is always honest and respectful. I miss watching him play but I will always have memories of watching him. I want to thank him for ever thing he has done and wish him the best with ever thing he does. and Jhon Stocktan's reaction was priceless. Thanks MJ for ever thing 23=#1

  • This speech was great.

  • The people who hate on this speech haven't seen the whole thing. Michael Jordan may not be as great an orator as he is a basketball player - but I think it was clear that everyone he mentioned, he thanked!

He thanked them for DRIVING him to be the best he could be. He thanked them for giving him the fire to be the best - a mission he's been on for all his life. It's all there in his words.

Most humble guy on earth? No. But take that fire from him and he wouldn't be Michael Jordan.

  • hahaha...dude...stockton totally doesnt think its funny...you're right.

  • I didn't hear or see what all the fuss was about. I'm not a Jordan fan. Never was. I'm a Laker. But the Associative Press and ESPN blew this way out of proportion. I saw or heard nothing wrong with this speech. They call him out for having an ego? Well, they were the one's pumping out stories on how he was the greatest. Deal with it.

  • stockton dont think its funny ...

  • Really good speech, I am glad he spoke from his true feelings, and not sugar coat it. As a competitor you wan to win at all costs, and if you hurt people's feelings along way, it happens, people that are sensitive about what he said, the speech wasn't for you but those of us willling to be just as competitive to get ahead in life, he was a tenacious person on the basketball person and I am willing to be he has taught his kids the same way. Very appropriate speech for MJ, he spoke the truth.

  • Michael Jordan is a class act. Articulate, funny, braggish and direct. I loved his speech. He was saying "bring it on, brother!" and it was very cool. For those who are looking for something bad to say, well those people are just having a bad day.

  • I really think the media wrote all that stuff to make us read their article. Politics

  • i don't think it was a great speech, but classless and inappropriate? people are way too sensitive.

  • i think it WAS a great speech... it was candid, funny, emotional and interesting--all qualities of a great speech.

  • After hearing this speech after all the crap I read about it, It was a great speech that had no dishing of anyone. Where was all this bad mouthing of everyone I read about. All I heard was a man explaning all the people who guided him, fueled him, loved him, and hated him to do better at his craft. A man is allowed to say whatever is on his mind. I felt nothing but a recognition of all who paved the way to his success. I am not a Jordon fan, but this speech was awesome. GO LAKERS.

  • I agree!!! Great speech!

  • What does that guy say at around 1:26?

  • You're the greatest ever, Michael

  • jordan is a class act. a true competitor. the man had a desire to win and be the best. that was his main focus. he wanted to proove to the greats how great he was.

  • It wasn't. that bad. People's vaginas just bruise too easily.

  • i didn't think it was has bad as people as that yahoo author was saying

  • totally inappropriate and classless speech.

  • This is not an acceptance speech.

Did somebody tell him this was Comedy Centrals roast of Michael Jordan? What the fuck is he doing?

  • This speech was awesome. Maybe only competitive people like myself and other others can understand his great message about using adversity to motivate you to greater things. I think the speech was great. He used great humor interwoven with lessons. It sure beats a plastic speech written by speech writers or something. I like it because it was real and inspiring.

  • Yeah you're right, "competitive" people are just better human beings than the rest of us, and this has nothing to do with putting people down or shoving things in their face. Sheesh, he even hates Jeff Van Gundy.

  • He's earned his right to do whatever, and his forward nature helped him succeed. But if it were me I would've been more humble.

  • scottie pippen dosent look to happy

  • that was MJ. whatever he said on that stage that's he sees himself as... a competitor, a winner. his career was a success because he wanted it to. that was his passion and nobody's gonna take it away from him. whatever he said up there, it's also called bragging rights. what have you haters got?

  • So many bruised vaginas both on youtube and in the media. Get the fuck over yourselves ...

  • yahoo's review on MJ's speech is bullSH^T....... nothin rong with the speech.. each person has different personality. MJ is MJ for what he is... he is a bully of the BULLS and that is what made him great...

    yahoo = shit

  • damn, i love to see michael goin back to the nba. does n't matter to if he's old. i love to see him coaching while playing in a team =))

  • Are you sure? Did you see him with the Wizards?

  • To all the people here saying that MJ was being cocky, a jackass, a jerk, he was speaking about all the challenges he faced and how all the competition motivated him to become where he is now. He wanted to become the best and he DID become the best because of all the people that he faced and all the people that brought him up. Those events and people motivated him and strengthened him and NOW he is where he is. But I'm dissapointed he didn't acknowledge God, considering he is catholic/christian

  • Screw all you guys that actually have something bad to say about Jordan, his speech was awesome, he is the best basketball player ever, no doubt, he has inspired millions of people to work hard at what they want to do. I know Michael will never read this but he is my hero and alot of other peoples'. His remarks towards the other people that seem "jerky" to you are not that at all so shut the hell up.

  • Jerry Sloan's facial reaction at 0:22 is priceless :)

  • Great speech. I didn't hear anything super foul or offensive... I dont know where people are getting this shit from.

  • I had no idea MJ was such a jackass. What a jerk. He who exalts himself will be humbled. Somebody help him get that chip off his shoulder.

  • the review of this speech on yahoo was way too harsh. Sure it wasn't the humble beautiful speech critics would've wanted... but it's his story. It's how he really felt and thought during those times.

  • Michael. I don't know if you going to read this lines. Probably not. But I just wanna to say thank you. For inspiring me, for make me believe in myself and in my dreams. You are the greatest man. Inside and outside the court. Thank you.

  • what u see here is called individuality and the conformist within the establishment hate that Michael Jordan promoting towards being self reliable and strong and so they keep trying to attack him to break him and thus never win against Jordan as he repeatedly states, he just takes that and makes it into something great

GO JORDAN! UR WISDOM AND STRENGTH SHOWED THROUGH WHERE IT MATTERS!

  • why will it not let me post

  • Mr. Michael Jordan,

Your speech is very inspiring. You touched all of us with your "air jordan" dunks, consistency night after night, determination to win, respect for your team mates, and burning competitive spirit. You always played with your "A' game, no matter what, and you definitely took the play of basketball to a higher level. "Limits, like fears are just an illusion". Well said, bro. Thank You

  • god didn't play the game for him, smarten up.

  • Jordan has EVERY right to diss every single person he dissed because if it wasnt for them, the Jordan we know wouldve never been possible...it happens all the time with talented people that are undermined by those who think they know all about whatever it is they do... Way to rub it in their faces Jordan!!!!!!

  • Common men, you gotta give thanks to God somewhere in your speech for giving your the breath all this while in your life. You gave all this speech and you couldn't even thank the big man upstairs in just a sentence? Hmmmmmmmmmmmm

  • dude, its his opinion whether he wants to believe in the world biggest illusion. if you wanna believe in it, be another fool, but don't judge a logical person who doesn't buy into the world biggest crock of bs

  • Don't you think there is a chance that Mike might not buy into all of that religious bullshit? And secondly, assuming there is a God, do you really think that he would be disappointed if he wasn't mentioned. It sounds like you picture God as an insecure egomaniac. I realize u are just trying to say that God gave Mike his and Mike should be grateful, but doesn't the idea of God choosing certain people to be extremely talented seem un God-like? A God worth worshipping shouldn't play favorites.

  • It's his opinion...and he has a right to it. He isn't on here insulting you for your metaphysical position.

  • thats what i thought man and ima big micheal jordan fan but like u said he ant even thank the big man thats where the gift comes from.. i was wondering who else caught that

  • maybe he sold his soul to the devil...Nah but seriously we can't judge him on that. That's between him and God.

  • "never say never.. because limits like fears are often just an illusion" greatest line ever!

  • The best of all.
