i love you all, but thats bullshit we cant touch each other on the net because its just not right, well mr reid might have something to say about that listen to your post on this site. you have wash over terrys music, it breaks my heart. that you dont hear the obvious....
He ain't lost yet. He still plays every week, maybe not to our audience of the 60's and 70's but his music lives. My 24 year old daughter loves his music, so there it is.
@gwilkes0416 thanks for the information. i wonder what connection they have to Mr. Reid. maybe they were bigger in the usa than the uk? anyway, Mayfly is one of the greatest works of music ever recorded. It's up there with the late Ustad Vilayat Khan's Jhinjhoti. Mr. Reid is an under-appreciated genius. it's nice that he's getting more exposure now and continues to perform regularly. wish he would come to Japan.
@SuperMcabral could that be Badfinger? A great tragedy. Casualties of the music industry. They were quite big in the early 70s. There's a photo of them in wikipedia. The fellow with the top hat is not in the wiki photo. Mike Gibbons, on the left, is easily identifiable from the wiki photo. The blond-haired fellow on the right looks like Pete Ham who, committed suicide in 1975, age 27. Tom Evans, second from left, killed himself in 1983, age 36. I don't think Mr. Reid is in the photo.
a timeless tune from the one of the greatest musical artists of the 20th and 21st centuries. he still delivers with more soul than one could fit in all the cathredrals, synagogues, mosques, shrines, and temples in the world.
It's funny that there is a picture of the Replacements :P I just finished a book in which the Mats recommend this song to the reader. I fuckin love this music. I fuckin love The Replacements
I play a little guitar and this is certainly a beautiful song to play around with. Like the lilting piano runs, too. Terry definitely comes up with some unique stuff, but it's addicting.
Again, I listened to this song on Terry Reid in 1969 which I still own. He is such a gifted singer and guitar singer. Drugs and alcohol played a toll on him. I'm still in love with you, Terry. See you in Paradise.

By the way, the 2nd to last photo is Savoy Brown, not Badfinger. Don't know who the last picture is. Mayfly will always make me cry.

I love this song more as I get older and it's more personal than when I was young and in lust all the time.

What is the story?

In a nutshell - he made the Replacements cry. Or at least two of them. Just by singing this song. I'll try to find the exact quote and post it.
BTW it's Terry's 60th birthday today...

Great song. Thanks for uploading, but... you got the lyrics wrong. Or somewhat right. He doesn't articulate well, that's well known.
