  • This technique is exactly the same way they do it for models, its been around for a long time, the book by scott spencer is fantastic... get it :)

  • genius!!

  • what do you do with these after you have completed them?

  • Amazin!!!! but this is maybe off topic. I'm pretty new at ZBrush and work on an Macbook Pro and the performance isn't good. May I ask you about your hardware and your pc's performance?

  • @bahijd With ZBrush RAM is the most important thing. If you can dd RAM it will definitely power up your ZBrush performance. Multiple processors come in second and video cards have almost no effect on ZBrush's performance.

  • @eindoppelganger I see, thanks a lot. Very helpful information!!

  • @eindoppelganger

zbrush is still 32 bit, so as long as you have 4 gigs, you're there. Fast quad core or better is very important as zbrush is multi-threaded. I saw a huge performance boost when I upgraded my cpu. I'm betting I'd even see higher gains if I had a 6 core or an 8 core (but I have very little lag with a phenom 945 as it is).

  • fake....

  • @tuomollaonkoivu sorry I don't understand, whats fake? Its not a real monster if thats what you mean :)

  • @eindoppelganger

    just trolling :P

  • @tuomollaonkoivu ah ok :)

  • GUYS i realy need help, i made a demon i made a good job with painting on him, in polypaint, Now i want to save it WITH THE collor on it and move it to 3dmax so i can do my animation how i do that is there a plugin or something?? i realy need help

  • @eleszar1 The easiest way is to use GoZ to transfer to 3D Studio max, its a free plugin already installed in ZBrush. Go to Tool>Texture Map and click New from Polypaint while at the highest res - then click the GoZ button under the tool menu to go to Max and render

  • @eindoppelganger thanks lad but the problem is if i save it as to its hightest res the model has many polygons :/ is there a way to save the model to low res and save the texture to hight res? or it wont fit on the model ?

  • @eleszar1 You create a texture map at the highres because thats where the detail is. To get all the detail of the color map you need to be at the top level. The UVs wll make sure the map applies back to the lowres. The geometry is then exported at the lowres. i cover this in the texture chapter of my book ZBrush Character Creation. Its a pretty simple process but the steps are illustrated.

  • What about ZBrush 4??? heh i have 4 XD

  • @TheMasamura112 Its the same painting process as before. The only differencei s now you can paint in HD and extract that data in a map.

  • creature looks a bit like john malkovich...

ohh and its totally freaking amazing.

  • @whydontyouremember LOL! Thanks :)

  • how does yours look so smooth?? do you need upgraded hardware?, ive just started using zbrush and everything looks pixaly to the point where its impossible to create detail like teeth etc, any advise, creat paintjob by the way!

  • @Rockysbeats Just make sure you subdivide the model a few times so you have the resolution to carry your details. A new system should have no problems : )

  • @eindoppelganger thanks! yer got it sorted, how do i colour in like in your video, and still be able to rotate it, thanks

  • @Rockysbeats You will need to use Polypaint :)

  • @eindoppelganger whats polypaint?, a seperate package? or is it in zbrush?,, im using zbrush 3.1, please could you explain the process, many thanks

  • @Rockysbeats Your ZBrush is out of deat - get 3.5 Polypaint is part of the program.

  • @Rockysbeats Your ZBrush is out of date - get 3.5 polypaint is part of the program.
