You know what I notcied between the old and new version? In the old version, you can hear the bass more clearly. In the new release, you hear the guitar more. Also the vocals for this 1996 release sounds waay better than the new, in my opinion :)

It's actually embarassing to say that a few Dimmu albums are some of my favorite black metal and just metal albums of all time. And the reason for this is because of what we know of what they have released in the past 7+ years. They are now just a band for angsty teenagers.

I never got the point of these kind of lyrics to be honest. Sure, you can scare a lot of people who aren't emotionally together. But it's just so overdone. They did a remake of the whole album to clean the Stian Aarstad plagiarism in Alt Lys Er Svunnet Hen (Magnum - One Sacred Hour) and Sorgens Kammer (Agony, video game).

By the way, 'Jeg er ondskapelsen' is a change they did in the remake. It is a word-joke:

Ondskap = Evil

Skapelse = Creation

'Og voldta' (And rape) became 'Og lemlest' (a special word in Norwegian for physically destroy someone), and they changed some more things in the lyrics.

They were with Cacophonous Records and Century Media for a record label in 1996. Nuclear Blast probably knows that Dimmu Borgir is the greatest band there ever was, so they wanted to re-record all their stuff and make as much money as possible.

In case any English speakers are curious and actually cares about the proper spelling of what roughly translates to "Storm Blown," to type the Norwegian letter Å on an American computer, just hold alt and press 143 for Å or 134 for å. It just bucgs me when people spell it "Stormblast."

I'm inclined to disagree. Sorry, man, but the new one just kind of lost the edgy feeling of bleak darkness. It sounded almost... upbeat. And I personally think Shagrath's voice is more overbearingly powerful here. His voice is too good to be ruined with all those synthesized vocal effects.
