At first yes, with it's wing design and load it had a really high landing speed causing alot of pilots to stall. It had a bunch of nice nick names like "The Widow Maker" or "Baltimore Whore". But with proper training that "crashing" ended quickly. After all you don't make 5300 of them if they all crash all the time.

What's with all the posers seething with hatred just because somebody else can upload a video, and they cant? I get the same thing with my Socom and Ace Combat videos.

HOTP was a pretty awesome PC game. Not sure how well it played on the consoles, but it was definitely better than Secret Weapons over Normandy. Wish it was that popular.

So does the PS2 version have online at all?

Also, is there any splitscreen mode?

Yeah, I just ignore them. Both PS2 and Xbox has online and split screen. HOTP has a segual Heroes over Europe for PC/360/PS3. Comes out in sept, I'll post more vidss then.

Awesome. Thanks for the heads up, I didn't realize they were going to make the sequel. I hear Heroes of the Pacific is also coming to the PSP. It can work really well on the PSP. Aces of War is a Japanese/UK game that is really close to it, though you play as Axis forces :( . PSP version may have online to boot. That's be something. Even Ace Combat couldn't get off it's ass to do that on the PSP.

To be honest I have AC6 for 360 and the online blows.....your stock missles couldn't hit the broad side of a c130 and if you aren't using the quick manuvering missles you won't hit crap. What worse is it's a missle spam fest....no tactics...just a bunch of 12 year olds hanging at the endge of the map lobbing missles. I was really disapointed. Atleast with HOTP their were tactics and manuvers.

Yeah, I knew that was going to happen. That's why I wanted the Ace series to have realistic payloads, and rely on team commands for enemy takedowns. To be able to command all the allies that appear during a battle, even tanks, and give them attack preferences and coordinate the strike. WWII ain't had any magic missiles, so they're bound to boil down to dogfighting/bombing skill. Oh, you should check out Over-G on the 360. Taito's Energy Airforce series was an excellent SIM for the PS2, now 360.

Actually I'm trying to pick that one up; one of my clan mates from HOTP has it and loves it. Says the graphics are OK but the physics are out of this world.

Yeah, the gameplay is the focal point of the series, not so much the graphics. They look good, but not Namco, though Namco's completely ass backwards on that subject - graphics over substance. Same with a lot of big developers these days, which never should have happened. How could big companies like Capcom and Konami start doing that? They used to be the best. It's insane. If you've already got a buddy to fly with on Over-G, I recommend it once more. :P It's that kind of game.
