I wish another Republican would have won. I don't see what was wrong with this school's decision. I live in Florida and we were allowed to wear Rebel flags, and the only kids that really ever wore peace signs were the skater-types that nobody really cared about.
I mean, nobody ever made a big deal out of a few hippie kids, so the peace sign didn't get banned or anything, but SO many people would have been mad if the Rebel flag was banned, especially since there's ones flying all over town.

I live in rhode island and they wanted to change the formal name of RI which is RHode island providence plantations, or something like that, it was the same thing. not to mention all the building codes and monuments they would have to correct because of that.

The southern states believed that the federal government wasn't treating them fairly, and that they had too much power. The only reason that the war turned into one about slavery was because that was the only way to get France to NOT side with the south. So, no, the Confederate flag is not a symbol of slavery.
