To answer the question, yes there are. I did deliberately record some 'bad' sticks with Larry just to show yirdaki aficionados what to avoid when choosing an instrument for purchase. Will put them up at some stage. A good player can do wonders to a good stick, but a bad stick sounds terrible whoever plays it :-(
Is there any stick Larry cant make sound amazing???? Larry and Ididj thanks once again for the clip. They are always great to watch and an inspiration for us mere mortals!!!

is this not a didgeridoo i dont know the spelling or is it a different instrument
cublinka 3 years ago
YOu now didgeridoo is a tree you put on ants an then you have your didgeridoo, so you can take a big tree and have a big didgeridoo :D
Yakishamy 3 years ago
you don't put it on ants, the "ants" are actually termites they call them white ants and they eat the wood from the inside out...
DO SOME RESEARCH PEOPLE!!!!

whats with the tapping of the stick? To me the tapping just ruins it
96JUSTIN 3 years ago
He is just tapping out the rhythm to help keep time...
ididjaustralia 3 years ago
Tapping actually makes it better in my opinion
sonofthedestroyer 2 years ago

Is it me or did this guy blow continuously for the entire clip..? Where did he take a breath?
Bluemahoedon 3 years ago 3
circular breathing: use the tongue and cheeks to blow out the mouth while simultaneously breathing in through the nose to replenish the lungs.
drunkpoet69 3 years ago
@Bluemahoedon He's using circular breathing, man.

Perfect description Guan. It sounds exactly like the engine on a sports car.

I love the yidaki. The didj just sounds great. Yes, it's one continuous note, but you can do so much with just a C#

Oh yes, so much. 8-)

Frigging awesome! I'm not familiar with that totem. Great didge and of course, Larry is a stellar yidaki puller!
