If you can't find one from a normal American record shop (since you apparently are American), you could always check if you'd find it in ebay or Amazon.

Arctic Monkeys are not a strokes rip off, listen to their new album. NOTHING like the strokes.

Not to mention some 90s and 80's acts like Blur and Suede (back again XD), Morrissey, and Jarvis Cocker (sadly no Pulp reform =[ )

The Libertines ended because of drugs, but so have so many other bands. And you seem to be very into 90s music, so its unsurprising that you don't like them, because they took most of there influences from the late 60s and 70s.

A lot of people actually do their best to stand out from the big masses. From America I always get the sense that people are one big crowd who want to be similar - also in their music. The US charts usually give me a heartattack (sorry), but there's people like you out there to even the scores a bit ;)
