@soneill75 I have found that the chest harness moves the camera too much. Arm swing causes a lot of left right left motion on the video. I have found that the head strap with a visor is the most comfortable. Plus it gets noticed and people really like to be filmed.
@genova24 what did you do about battery life? carry an extra battery? turn it off from time to time? i am told I only have 2-2.25 hrs available. thanks.
@soneill75 Yes I did carry a second battery and used a 16gb SD card. GoPro just came out with a new battery backpack that gives you 4 hours of battery life.
@genova24 would you mind sending me a photo to soneill75@hotmail.com of what it looks like to wear the head strap and a visor ... do you attach them somehow? i would have thought the opposite, that the device would be a little heavy to wear on my head. thx
@genova24 would you mind sending a photo of what the head strap with visor looks like? i would have thought all that weight up there would be a hindrance to wearing it ... maybe not. did you attach the two together somehow? my email is soneill75@hotmail.com ... thx ... it seems, though, that wearing a chest strap will give me lots of views of peoples backs!
@genova24 can you send a photo to soneill75@hotmail.com of what the headstrap with visor looks like? i would have assumed that would be too much weight on my head. though wearing a chest harness, not sure i want 3 hrs of video of someone elses back! thx again
im running it bandit this year for first time, my plan is to fetch a 3:20 or better but well see what mon brings week and half left! o and for the folks who have sh#! to say about running bandit, i can safely say i could run a sub 3 hour marathon so qualifying is a no prob for me, just missed my baystate marathon last year because of family issues. i watch this to get primed up for running so thanks for sharing with us!
When I run this marathon, i get caught up in the race, and sometimes forget to look around. I see the people in front, I high-five the kids, but I somehow do not see the landscape and points of interest. I enjoyed this video, and I loved the music. I plan to watch this several times as we get closer to April 18, 2011....
With tears in our eyes my husband and I watched your video. We should have been there! After months of hard exercise we were ready for the Boston marathon. And then, on our day of departure from Holland to Boston, there was this vulcano in Iceland...... But: next year, we will be there!!! Your video certainly inspires us to start our marathon schedule again next January.
I enjoyed your vid a lot. I'm guessing you used a micro cam on a headset. I've done Boston 4 times myself but never experienced it's rich flavor like this (or had such perfect weather, either). For me it's always been about hitting my splits and the pain required to re-qualify right there. I've never been fortunate enough to see my wife on the sidelines, either. In many ways I think you had the richer experience. Congratulations, you've run the Boston marathon.
I saw myself in this video, I think. Around 1 minute 8 seconds. Cool video
! It sure brings back good memories.

My husband is going to run the Boston Marathon this year.
We live in Texas and have never been to Boston before.
I will be at the finish and would not have seen the sites along the way.
( I loved when you saw "My Girls" !
