  • I know many of you aren't old enough to have played the originals, but let me tell ya. We never turned our NES off, lol. The game was notorious for losing battery life and erasing all save files. When it was time to sleep, we paused the game and turned the TV off. Sometimes, we left the home theatre speakers on low to fall asleep to this.

  • @Kaisarfire there were many occasions where I left my NES on over night. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles was one of them, and Super Mario Brothers 3 for sure another!

  • Nice, but the original sounded much more somber, whereas this is slow and mellow.

  • I don't care about new games, I just play them for kill some time. But if I want a challenge I play old games. Now I'm playing Super Metroid because I've never played a metroid game, and now I realize what I was missing

Oh!, and take a look at this:

    cracked(dot)com/blog/the-6-most-ominous-trends-in-video-games/

  • um wtf

  • That was set up.

  • I love this game...

  • Wow that's pretty damn good!!

  • man u dont know good effort this is awsom he took a lot of effort to make this one

  • sorry but it really doesn't sound like the original ... i suppose 989 dislike ff or smth like that ... =x

  • @Mogoudai Of course it doesn't sound like the original, it would be impossible to make any Mario Paint piece to sound like an original. Mario Paint allows people to make songs that sound vaguely similar to songs. Tom Bob just happens to be the best at the original Mario Paint.

  • Not perfect but I cold never do that. I think its all the notes that get annoying.

  • Secret of Mana is the best game ever!

  • guys i like this songs OMG

  • @BonnieAndClyde23 however this is neither sad nor depressing ._.

  • Although the latest Final Fantasy i know is the fourth, this theme sounds somewhat familiar to me. Maybe its because im into 8bit-tracks even as one of the younger generations :X

  • you need to speed it up slightly mate!

  • Talk about your all time nostalgia. Wow, this song takes me back. I think I still have it kicking around here somewhere.

Me = biggest Final Fantasy nerd ever!

  • My age generation is Halo, Call of Duty (Early teen). But I refuse. I'd pick a 2D Final Fantasy game over a 3D mass effect graphic game any day!

  • @ianh97 Agreed.

  • i top you all.... i still play pong and enjoy it...

  • Sounds like an ending theme. it kinda reminds me of FF mystic quest

  • Thumbs up if you have this for your NES and Wii virtual console

  • watchin these old game songs played on an old game i used to have loads of fun playin is the best

  • yayy love it!

  • ahhh the classics

  • this makes me rememember the good old fashioned final fantasy

  • @ggiell21 its mixed options dude

  • I guess I'm a 16 bit guy... I love FF6.

But that doesnt mean i dont like FF1!!!

    Its just... i like story...

    PLEEASE DONT FLAME ME! XO

  • Hey can u make a song :The price if freedom

  • Wow...the memmories come flooding back. Final fantasy 1&2.....first turn based rpg's i ever played... I hate being one of the few young classic gamers. 16, playin wizards and warriors 2 on my nes...

  • @xxcl0n3xx I think i found my long lost brother T_T 13 playing ff and double dragon :3

  • @lordlorenzo Oh yeah. My friends come over, see my nes, snes, and gb original and wanna know what they are. so sad...

  • This was when Final Fantasy was good.

When it had no true characters, complete customization, horrid graphics, and a kind of where-the-fuck-do-I-go-feel.

And I'm being serious. It was awesome.

  • Final Fantasy X was criminally underrated. Sure, people liked it, but they were to busy loving FFVII to enjoy it. Don't get me wrong, VII was good, but seriously, there wer SIX games after it. Play something else.

  • @thetuckman1 The story was so horrible that i just couldn't play it. The gameplay (except the blitzball) was fun but man the plot was crap and the main character is ANNOYING!!!!! If the main guy was Orin instead then I would have saved the story since he is an absolute badass

  • @boxofrox619 Not true, the story was one of the best things I've ever seen.

  • @thetuckman1 Are you sure we are talking about the same game?

  • @boxofrox619 Yes, entirely sure.

  • @thetuckman1 Can you please elaborate on why because I surely don't see why and I have good reason to believe that the story sucks along with the main character. Although I will say the gameplay was fun and the cutscenes and music are wonderful (as is the standard of every final fantasy game)

  • @boxofrox619 Well, the characters were all varied, yet felt classic at the same time, the story was truly original (a water polo player gets sent to the future to kill a giant whale o_O) and highly involving, Seymour was the most sadistic (and frankly, amazing) enemy ever created, and the plot twists were all pretty surprising. Theres that "elaboration" you wanted.

  • i think it was good. and i LOVE Final Fantasies. Though I haven't played them all.

  • @joltypikachu dont wanna pick sides, but go fuck yourself you commie.

  • @joltypikachu Please get off youtube... you can't even troll very well.

  • @Skope111 im not trolling im giving my opinion

  • @joltypikachu Oh, may bad...let me rephrase: Please get off youtube... your opinions aren't worth shit to anyone.

  • @joltypikachu #FAIL s at trolling

  • @joltypikachu Stupid canadian

  • @joltypikachu you idiot get off youtube naow and never come back stupid noob who doesn't love Final Fantasy o ya i forgot only faggots like you.

    What? It's my opinion. =p

  • @joltypikachu How ironic, those words perfectly describe your post.

  • i promoting classic nes game to my friend, but they always look down on it...

they more like play with GRAPHIC only

  • is it possible to do the prelude?

  • NOSTALGIA +1

  • FF7 is obliviously the 7th final fantasy. This is the original final fantasy

  • FF7 isnt technihly the 7th one your forgetting all of the other consoles that got theyre own games before ff1 even came out

  • @gamesharmu wtf does that mean? o.O

  • @canoshizrocks theres more than 13 games lets just say that ok

  • this is the final fantasy I town theme

  • ha - i love the bass notes that have to jump up an octave XD

  • first final fantasy is the best!

  • And so are you. Maybe you are a bit less dumb than the others, and for that you should be proud.

(This dosen't mean I'm any better by the way.)

  • I have no idea what you just said.

  • LIES!

    Final Fantasy was always good!

... Although I did never play the original 2, 3, and 5. Or the recent ones for that matter...

  • I have to disagree 10-13 are garbage, probably 14 too.

  • @shemhead Agreed. Of course I'm the kind of person who thinks FFVII was merely above average as far as FF games go. lol So what do I know?

  • nice :)

  • AWESOME!!!!!! FF FTW!!!

  • Holy crap, i mentioned this to my friends and they didn't even know what mario paint was. I feel old now... and Keikoutaraichi, I just turned mine on to play it again. That game takes a while to beat

  • My friend didn't know what a goomba was, I said it was from Super Mario, he didn't know what that was either..

  • You feel old? Remember Battle Toads? most people I talk too have no clue what that is...that is when I realize I am old

  • @degillin Battle Toads ROCKED! How can you forget Zits, Rash, and Pimple?

  • Me and my brother kept pissing each others off in battletoad...ahh memories

  • @degillin I remember Battletoads. |3

  • @degillin Absolutely loved battle toads, battle toads double dragon and all the other (S)NES classics.

  • @degillin The AVGN review was awesome.

STOP HITTING ME WHAT THE HELL WHAT THE EFFFFFFF

  • @degillin

i'm 14 and know what it is.

and its a pretty cool fighting game.

  • @DryYoshii read it in nintendo power? or just looked it up after reading my comment?

  • @degillin

we dont have nintendo power in Holland and my friend actually plays final fantasy alot and i knew of it before that so...

  • @degillin

we dont have nintendo power in Holland and i know of it for a long time...

  • @degillin - Shiiit! I got Battletoads + Double Dragon in 1991!

  • @degillin Battletoads FTW

  • @degillin I LOVED THAT GAME!!! in fact i still have it! fucking talking bird mayor... wanted to kick his arse.

  • @degillin I remember when I could walk into an arcade, say "I beat battletoads", and get next-in-line at SF2...

There are some people who know exactly what this means, and I'm proud to be one of them.

    Despite my age, I am a gamer~

  • @degillin no they only think it is some joke game to harass game store employees with but dont realize it is GOOD and HARD unlike games today

  • @degillin Oh yes, do I remember Battle Toads...I sucked so bad I could never make it past the third stage alone when I was little.

  • Most people are playing the new "flashy" games but us real gamers will always remember the originals.

  • YAY

  • and just imagine, some day the new flashy games will be considered the original's. I sure do hope I don't die before they finish the final fantasy games for good.

  • That'd be the day the entire world is controled by communist Russia.

  • I remember when my mom got final Fantasy VII for me, I was only but 11 years old, I thought It was going to suck but instead it blew me away..

  • You gotta get with the times, pong isn't coming back.

  • @RoflolmaoProductions Lots of old games have been remade on newer systems such as Chrono Trigger, Super Mario World, etc. Theres nothing wrong with liking originals. Sometimes the remakes receive edits and bonus content like with Chrono Triggers remake.

  • Oh wait I didn't know super mario world was an original, yeh in that case I agree with you.

  • @RoflolmaoProductions

There actually was a pong remake on the playstation. It was very sad... Much like the frogger remakes

  • @TheZombiesAreComing

we aren't real gamers becuase of that? just because you played the "real" games doesn't mean we aren't gamers. not our fault we was borned to late. >:(

  • @madapocket It has nothing to do with when you were born, anyone can enjoy the classics. Lots of people who calls themselves gamers these days though are mostly obsessive fans that limit themselves to 1 company and diss the others. They don't care about the originals, only whats next. Those kind of people are a disgrace to gamers. (continued on next post)

  • Sure its nice to see technology move forward but games are not all about graphics, their about the plot and a game with a great plot and fun game play can be enjoyed regardless of graphics.

  • @TheZombiesAreComing

yeah, I know, I like to play OoT and a lot of other old-school games.

Sorry, I kind of misunderstood the comment...

  • @TheZombiesAreComing

I know what your talking about. I have someone like that on my friggin' SCHOOL BUS.

  • @TheZombiesAreComing How is buying new games a disgrace? Original games are good, but its pretty boring playing mario and pokemon and beating them for the marzillionth time, so stfu.

  • Comment removed

  • @TheZombiesAreComing ^This, and although I played final fantasy 7 first, I seem to prefer Final Fantasy, more so the remake though due to the NES versions difficulty o^o incidentally when I heard this song, it reminded me of Final Fantasy 7's town song due to high similarity in the start

  • @TheZombiesAreComing I was born too late for those classics. But I still found a way to get my hands on them. While my friends are all playing the latest games, I'm playing Super Mario World and Zelda games and Final Fantasy. They think I'm crazy.

  • @JackChaseStudios They don't understand. That's a Shame.

Dates and graphical power mean next to nothing unless they are paired. That is, I only say a game is bad if its properties are poor for the time period. It's really obvious; I don't understand what people don't get about it.

  • @TheZombiesAreComing I consider myself a gamer even though I haven't played the originals (except on emulators, but it probably isn't the same). Sure, most 'gamers' side with one company, but I think true gamers are those who play games because they're fun, not because they're a trend.

  • @PS3TNA157 You'd be surprised how many of these "trends" have been going on which is what lead to my comments as for the feel its not quite the same, emulators cannot compare to playing on the actual console but its fun to be able to play the game anyways. I used to play my Super Nes all the time but ever since it got stolen I've had to resort to an emulator.

  • @TheZombiesAreComing Someone stole your SNES? Ouch. Feel sorry for you. Then again, I've never owned a SNES :'(

  • @TheZombiesAreComing i see what you mean

  • @TheZombiesAreComing Imo, a "real" gamer will remember the past, but also play the future.

  • @TheZombiesAreComing so true i still play ff 3

  • @TheZombiesAreComing Back when 10% of the games normal people owned were completed and 99% of the games of actual gamers were completed. Now it's if you're 10 years old you can complete it, and play online rather well (also annoying everyone with your stupid Justin Bieber Voice)

  • @phaphachboy Thats the thing I've been playing games since I was 7 I never played games because everyone else was playing them or because they were new I played them because they were fun. it wasn't till a couple years later when I started getting good when observing my friend play and learning from him. Now days however, most people who call themselves gamers are actually obsessive fanboys/fangirls that stick to one system and dis the rest.

  • @TheZombiesAreComing The main reason I hate many of today's games are because they are too competitive and everyone you play with has to do all this crap to say that they're pro. Mass competition ruined games. I prefer story, rpg, and sandbox games with a good shooter where everyone is not too serious such as tf2. RIP true games

  • @TheZombiesAreComing its maybe abit hard to say but in 10 to 20 years the games that just came out now will be classic then ><

  • @TheZombiesAreComing Damn straight.

  • @TheZombiesAreComing More evidence that you don't need brilliant graphics, hour long cutscenes and character development to have a great game. Just look at The Legend of Zelda, Final Fantasy I, Super Mario Bros and Donkey Kong, tiny plots but massive fun!

  • @TheZombiesAreComing Man, the originals are so good, once I find out about them, I drop the new games for them. :D

  • @TheZombiesAreComing The originals are always better :D

  • @TheZombiesAreComing Just my opinion, but I never liked final fantasy 1. It is WAY to hard. Just saying.

  • @TheZombiesAreComing i'm from that "dishonoring gamer erra",and i totally agree with you.i still have both of my neses,i still play tetriz and all that stuff.if i had the money for it,i'dd also be playing chrono trigger.aaaand you know?

i don't get why everyone goes on black ops.its totally dumb.why not just going to real war?

if you just wanna be able to respawn, why thaT?

killing ourselves would be better than liking that game (in my opinion)

  • Loved the game, love this video even more! <3 I was humming along with it. Excellent job! *runs off to dust off her NES*

  • Lol i did download it, and put it like so i got an 1 hour long song of it :p i just love it :P Make me.. Happy :)))

  • Ohh, coming out of a dungeon with half the party dead, this song is so good to hear.

  • OMG :D PERFECT gives me memories of playing the game

  • *gasp* cornelia!!!

  • O.O;;; WHOO!

  • 1 word: NOSTALGIA

  • wow...you got talent to even do that :D

  • Oh wow, the generic village/town/castle music from the original final fantasy, Great job Tom!!

Also, what he does i believe is listens and writes it on paper, making sure the pitches of the notes are right, then plays with different sounds to recreate these classic songs.

  • nope all of u are wrong. it takes like 3-6 hours for a good one

  • man how long does it take you to make these things. i cant even make jingle bells

  • Oh, It probably takes them months, but, as you can clearly see, its all worth it in the end...

  • i think theres' something that they do like copy and paste... or something.

  • lul, original mario paint 0.o nice job =p

  • GREAT JOB i wish i was talented at more shit than Legend Of Zelda to do something creative like that

  • wow u went over the limitations of Mario paint and did it anyway. THAT WAS IMPRESSIVE!
