It was still a tiny bit too fast for me, I agree with Len saying it was too hectic.

I wish this routine had a really strong slow section at least to it.

The music does still make a MASSIVE difference, what the producers were thinking, I dont know...

Um, I'd like everybody to bear in mind that this isn't exactly tango music; Piazzolla was influenced about equally strongly by jazz and classical music as he was by tango, and his music, while it is well-regarded, is definitely outside the main stream of conventional tango music. Also, while the dancers are weirdly fascinating, they're not doing steps which would be regarded as being from any of the Argentine styles of tango (neither salon nor milonguero nor nuevo).

The performance was really good and I wish they have chosen a traditional tango song for this routine like Libertango that you used in this video. In my opinion, it really matters on the choice of music. I think it enhances the technique of the dance, therefore they would have had more passion.

you are right, this is ballroom tango, and they did a great job. BUT this is not original TANGO!!!!!! and i`m not a dancer i`m from Argentina. If you want to see real tango being danced, come here, you will see it in the streets.

BIG YES !!! Boy, did I miss authentic tango mysic when they originally performed this number. I think the one judge missed it too and didn't give them high scores (that they deserved) because of the music choice. The song "Jessie's Girl" was too contemporary and distracted from the preformance. Thank you for substituting this tango soundtrack.

Personally I like the fact that the show didn't choose a classic Tango song for the dance. I think using something different makes it more modern, and appealing. Watching this, I felt like extremely bored. And I even like the song Libertango...but it doesn't suit Apolo and Julianne's character.

My understanding the producers give the dancers a choice between two or three songs. We don't know what songs they turned down! LOL If they picked the same songs to dance to over and over the audience would revolt out of boredom. The show picked out Jessie's Girl as one of the choices and so they should not get punished for dancing to it. Watch Tango from Brazil on this site and you will see this tango was magnificent.

You can so see the difference that they did have drama with these songs, not with that song, which was completely wrongfull for this choice of dance. Sometimes they make good choices, like when Mario Lopez Danced with Karina Smirnoff to Gwen's What you waiting for. But, this time i'm disapointed.

Thanks for doing this. It certainly seems to be completely in time with the music and makes the dance look much better than dancing to the crazy music that the show selected for them. I agree with KJ4774 that they should give them the choice of a couple of songs. But, who knows, maybe they do and Jessie's Girl was the better choice...heaven forbid!
