@TheMrbollox oasis doesn't get played on the rock stations over here, when and if they get played they are played on the pop stations. their genre is listed as britpop so that should be your first clue. oasis is just your everyday ordinary pop rock band. their guitar tones sound just like every other pop bands guitar tone out there

They aren't just a pop band, and the reason they get played on pop stations is because they are contemporary. The rock channels tend to aim for music that USED to be played on POP stations. If you actually look into Noel and listen to oasis ull find that he is more influenced by Neil Young than he is to The Beatles.
