BlasterMaster and daflory, that's kinda what I thought too. I recently read on a British fox rescue website that the disease toxoplasmosis can sometimes "fry" the fox's brain and cause this sort of extreme passiveness--so the fox can no longer survive in the wild.
Toxoplasmosis is a protozoan disease, carried by domestic cats (primary host) and passed in their poop. People can get it too, but it usually doesn't damage our brains. However if a pregnant woman gets it, it can be very bad for baby.
