  • I rememebr this so well. When woke up that Sunday AM, my father said that Diana had died. I asked "Diana who." He told me and I felt so taken aback. I am not British. Never met her. Admired her and the work she did with people with AIDS and felt she was treated rather badly by the Windsors. When I wateched the funeral the following Saturday, I awoke at 3AM, as I did when she was married. I was so moved and continuie to be so as I watch, again, now.

  • I also think she was sort of a poster child or whatever for other divorced mothers. She arose from the ashes after her divorce, and I think a lot of other mothers did as well.

  • Diana's official title was "Diana, Princess of Wales", although she was no longer an HRH. Taking away her HRH was another Windsor family spite against Diana.

  • How poinient that her brother made it clear that Diana needed NO "Royal" title in order to continue her naturally beautiful brand of magic. That was the very best tribute of the entire service!

  • I understand Diana did not want Barbara Cartland, Raine Spencer's mother to attend her wedding.

  • rest in peace

  • Diana had made up with Raine before she died, but she was still estranged from her mother, Frances Shand Kydd.

  • Yes, apparently from the evidence at the Inquest, Diana had not spoken to her mother for four months when she died and had said she would never speak to her mother again. The reason was she opposed her relationship with Hasnat Kahn, the Pakistani heart surgeon she had a relationship with for two years. It is apparent from the evidence that no one apart from Mrs Shand Kydd opposed Diana having relationships with non-white men. It was another part of the overwhelming evidence she was not murdered.

  • i remmeber in the movie they made about her last days they focused on when she had lunch with a friend and she answered her phone and told the person on the other line enevr to call her again .... and they said it was her mother

  • it is important to remember her - whether she was liked or not

  • For the Queens death I Hope there wont be 10 people let alone 100 thousand... We All In UK Will Boycot Her Death As It Took Her 8 Days Too Raise The Royal Standard For A Royal Death........... England Wont Forget A Disloyal Queen.............

  • The Royal Standard was never risen for Diana's death. The Royal Standard is a symbol that says that The Queen is in residence. A Royal Standard is the Sovereign's own symbol, and can't be flying at half mast, because there is always a Sovereign! If a Monarch dies, his or her heir becomes immediately Sovereign, what explaines that there can't be a Royal Standard flying at half mast.

  • looks like your on your own there!

  • Sometimes a person can be brought low without saying a negative word. Did not the Queen and Royal Faimly end up having to BOW to Diana's courtage? Even in death, Diana brought them ALL to shame!! If they didn't feel that, they should have. Diana brought them to their knees through the shere reverence, honor, and respect from the British people! I'm American, and yet I felt so PROUD of ALL of You!!

  • R.I.P Diana, in our hearts (and minds) forever and ever. it's so sad.

  • the whole world will remember this woman.RIP Diana...we love u..forever remain in our hearts

  • i agree with you in that respect although i am not an avid supporter of the idea of a monarchy, without it, diana may not have become known for her good work..i know ''good work'' is a n understatement but there are no words to describe this woman greatly enough

  • how Amazing for all the thousands of people that were on the streets not much talk going on.. There will never be another like HRH Princess Diana!

  • Hear Hear!

Someone commented on one of the clips with the hearse in it that everyone went quiet when the hearse approached.

  • I don't think we will ever see anything like this again, except maybe for the queen but I even doubt that. Diana was so much the people's princess.

  • Diana wasn't a Princess or an HRH when she died. not disputing what you've said but I just thought i'd point that out.

  • Diana was in fact still Diana, Princess of Wales.

  • Diana retained the official title "Diana, Princess of Wales", although she was no longer an HRH.

  • u obviously don't know anything when she got divorced form prince charles she was stripped of the title her royal highness put was able to keep diana PRINCESS

  • No matter what kind of person she was to the world, when a person dies, we should give respect to the dead. So, plopahem, when you decide to make a statement like that, why don't you research your sources before you say something as ignorant as that! Princess Diana was one of the most compassionate person in our generation who gave so much of herself to the people of this nation! I wonder what you have done in your lifetime, so far!!!

  • A sad end to a woman who is perhaps, though through no fault of her own, an example of peoples desire to unnecessarily idolise the dead. She was not a paticualy great woman, she may have been kind but to be frank she was a foolish young girl who got herself into a situation she could not control and ultimatley was in a position of being on the cusp of bringing the royal family in to disgrace and disrepute.

  • I think the royal family was well on it's way to doing that on it's own with no help from Diana. Human's regardless of family or bloodline people are people.

  • hear! hear!

  • Sadly, her story was like a fairytale, except with a tragic ending! :'(

  • in response to that comment made by silverhorse141 you can never be overdue for something like this!! and yes she was a special lady and yes we all lose loved ones just like the princes lost her there mum but she was a princess of wales and she was a very speciak women, remarkable, known througout the world og her beauty and kindness.... do you knw any1 like that...??

    diana (god bless you) xx

  • all the little girls dreamed about diana like a fairytale

  • Very sad but really, why is this more special than anyone's else's loved one dying? It caught a mood, that was all. We English were overdue for something like this. If it hadn't have been this, it would have been something else

  • she is the most amazing lady that ever existed

  • It was a sad day for Britain and the British people.

  • We joined you in your sadness here in the United States. I remember standing in line at the British Consulate's office to sign a book of condolence for the Princess. She was your Princess but we sure loved her over here, too.

  • It was also a sad day for Canadians like me, I loved her so dearly, in fact I still do. Sweet Diana, may you shine forever like the brightest star you always were.

  • She was the peoples princess, not just for britain. She captured many nation's hearts.
