Excuse me, but ALL political persuasion took to the new marketing scheme, including Communists and Marxists ("Eat the rich!") and the Environmentalists ("Save the Planet").
classic marxism....the ideas of the ruling class,..that is the ruling class ideas... are in every epoch" "the ruling ideas, are the class of ruling material forces in society. at the same time it's ruling intellectual force.......the class that has the means of material production at it's disposal, also in it control the means of mental production..... with this being said.......the ideas of those who lack the material productive forces in society are therefor subjected to them"
I understand that this can be a very informative documentary. but I think it is a bit over complecated. they brabble a lot. it is very difficult to follow, and sometimes also very difficult to undestand (people with very strong accents) I think this is a sort of documentary made for people who are really interested in the subject, and also know quite a lot about it. not only the language makes it hard to follow, but also the intro, and the quality of clips, doesnt crasp you into the concepts...
Hi. I think the concept of the docu is good. I watched it a second time, and then got the point better. (I had to write an essay on it for school). My opinion was just that it is probably a very documentary for people who are really interested in this, but for people who arent and dont know anything about this all. It can be sometimes a bit overcomplecated. it is not that I dont get it, but I had to do quite some effort, if I didnt had to watch it, i wouldnt bother.. thats my point..
I bought the trilogy a year ago and found it fascinating. Anyone who views it will see the core reasons for things such as this governments push for DNA databases, ID cards, and the curtailing of individual freedoms. These policies have their roots in cold-war philosophy/psychology from the fifties and sixties and are not a reaction to recent threats. Note: this is not a conspiracy documentary series - it merely traces the application of psychology throughout modern history.
I would argue that average people are viewed as "human" and they are some how "more than human". This has led to a number of actions against people, such as the consumer based society that was implemented as a way to take those people out of the role of active citizen.
I agree fully with that but would have ended up writing an entire page about it. In fact the recent developments in Wall Street seem to me to be a direct consequence of the seemier side of all this: and illustrates how much utter damage these unregulated "Masters of the Universe" can cause. Maybe this will serve as a wake up call to those who wish to privatise the NHS and the welfare state in this country. Maybe.
FANTASTIC series. Highly recommended to anyone with the slightest interest in psychology, history, politics and/or philosophy, or, for that matter, anyone ever exposed to advertising. One of the best documentaries I've ever seen. Too bad there are only very few people (relatively) who have seen it.
The Federal Reserve (Rockefellers and Rothschilds) own and control our system of government. Our "elected" officials serve the interests of their fascists masters instead of WE THE PEOPLE. Watch, "America: Freedom to Fascism" - "Terror Storm" and "9/11 Mysteries"...
We have all been conditioned into complacency by mainstream media (see: propaganda)... America is the new Nazi Germany and the majority of the people are totally unaware (by choice or by ignorance).
The all consuming elite. But false coin is not the real Macoy. No one wanted to fight in the first world war, only we were being pushed round following mad orders of the officers.
The description of this video reads, "origin of NeoCon mindset, fascism, capitolism(sic)." That wrong. Those things go back much further than Freud. And, really, what's in this video doesn't get at what's behind neo-conservativism. Look to Strauss and Schmidtt for that.
this is on google video as stated, they are talking about edward l bernays, i've read about him, propaganda/advertising/mind control for consumerism, you need to check this isht out
Astonishing. You can see manipulation if you look. Understanding how it works, how certain ways of speaking based on how it will effect the human mind, is key to understanding it and countering it. Adam Curtis has outdone even his high standards.
I got my copy from Google Video. I took the flv file and tried converting, but it just hated my converter.
But I've heard of some sites where you can snag video in different formats so perhaps either of us should try those. It's a ripping good video, and in-total it makes a LOT of good points.

Except fascists were completely opposed to capitalism. It arose as a variation of Bolshevism, not as a counter to it.

You dont know anything. Fascism is state centered feudalism where corporate power and the state are one.

If you're saying it's not for stupid people, you're right.
I'd be surprised by anyone not capable of grasping the concepts even attempting to watch it.

Excellent choice of essay topic, was it your choice?
Just take your time over things, don't expect to be obvious first time round. Keep it up.

Your synopsis of the trilogy is very accurate.
(it's not a conspiracy documentary)

The conquerers face inevitable demise.
The conquered who are born into the advanced ramifications of past deeds end up footing the bill of past luxury.
Conversely, past pains and sacrifice have throughout history positive ramifications.
That is the law. And neutrality, that is the lack of significant contrast of either conditions keeps existence volatile to the law.
It's inescapable.
Justice is the most overlooked concept I have ever observed.

There's a deterrence to the credibility of said "conspiracies" the psyche rejects on a fundamental level.
Because there is a flaw in the methods people use to expose such things.
To up the ante and qualify as watchable, many methods are biased towards the viewers.
Sadly, this flaw discredits much of what is true and impedes would-be initiative of the viewer.
Because the truth is though men can impose unscrupulously, it only works as a con...which is mutual. Both parties are at fault.

This is a great series. One of the few films made over the last twenty five years that can actually be called socially relevant. A masterpiece.

Look for other documentary works by the man who produced this one. They are all brilliant.
