  • bad ass Indians...bless ya

  • Love One anouther,no matter what!GOD BLESS!!!

  • From the swamps along the Mississippi Gulf Coast, we love good swamp rock. THIS IS WICKED!!!

  • Thank you, Brother............................

  • @MrApache56 You're welcome, MoFo!

Injun MoFos they're not! They're Mexican wetbacks.

  • It was always my understanding that the word "Redbone" was Cajun for mixed-race, + in any case (unless it's an untrue stereotype) the abundance of facial hair would indicate the other (Mexican) part of their heritage? The song still sounds as good as it ever did... Anyone come across the French version? I've seen it on here before, but can't find it anywhere now....

  • A KOKane Quadraphonic Video ... .. 2:47... is that from the 70's or is that from now a days.

  • What an excellent track even after all this years. I first hear way back in 1972 or so as ayoung in Algiers!! Whatever happened to the band???

  • She damn sure will do it.

  • Look at those classic Fender guitars,,,, yes!

  • Dear Lord, why all of the arguing and pissing about whether these guys are full-blood Native American or not...or if it's red+white, red+brown, red+black, or even red+yellow. People don't have anything better to do than to argue and insult each other over this? Bottom line, these guys had an awesome band going on back in the day. I saw them in concert in '72 and they brought the house down with this tune. FOCUS ON THE GOOD STUFF PEOPLE AND STOP YOUR LAME ASS QUIBBLING!!

  • @SilverHamer Dear Lord, why all of the arguing and pissing about whether these guys are full-blood Native American or not...or if it's red+white, red+brown, red+black, or even red+yellow

Because they either have Mexican/Spanish or Italian surnames, their last name was Vasquez/Bellamy you dumb fuck.

They were born in East Los Angeles, CA. and - you dumb fuck.

Last time I checked East Los Angeles, CA was full of Chicanos, you dumb fuck.

East L.A. is not an injun reservation - dumb fuck.

  • @SkidRowJosephine Dude, I don't know where you get off showing everyone on youtube just how ignorant you are with your incessant name-calling, not to mention the fact that I did not get locked-up in the argument over their cultural heritage...READ MY POST! All I said was that it was stupid to have such arguments because the band was awesome regardless. I don't give two shits WHERE they were born, or what their last names are. It is YOU who cannot process what you are reading...YOU DUMB FUCK!

  • @SilverHamer Go fuck yourself shithamer. You're probably a dumbfuck mexicans trying to get welfare masquerading as an unemployed injun too.

    Go home, dumbfuck wetback!

  • @SkidRowJosephine LOL ok...see you have such anger management issues that you don't know what the heck you're talking about...and I'm very happy that I am not as poor of a judge of character as you are. You've completely struck out with your characterization of me. I do hope you woke up the next morning feeling better because you were surely on one heck of a bender when you wrote that comment.

  • Good music, grew up with this and it's always good to hear any time. As for the a-hole comments, the great spirit will deal with them soon enough.

  • I appoint Sacheen Littlefeather to post my comments and accept y'all's gracious approval and greetings. How!

  • fucken assholes can't enjoy a fuckin video without adding thier bullshit facts

.....RED-BLACK-WHITE-ORANGE WHAT EVER THE FUK EVER ...REDBONE ROCKT!!

  • The founding two brothers (lolly and Pat) were Mexican and Indian. I cannot say about Ralph Bellamy but, he is dark and beautiful as are all members of this remarkable group. The remaing member you know as PeteDepoe is the son of an Indian Chief. His actual name is Last Walking Bear. They are all beautiful as were their songs. They told truths others may not be comfortable with. People who are Inian or also redbone appreciate the way they represented the people this land was stolen from.

  • Listen to the interview . . 1989. Redbone is half-breed, not necesarily red & white by their own statement in that interview. It could also be Red & Black or Red & Yellow --

It is some percent of Native blood. Read about the Dawes (Final) Rolls. You people

really need to understand the history of this country.

  • Redbone means red and white mixed. It says that on their 2nd album.

  • hey, check out the made-for-TV movie Dreamkeeper - about a grandfather (Navajo?) whose grandson is growing away from the people as he matures, getting into trouble - the grandfather asks for a ride to a ceremonial gathering, the gransdons reluctantly accepts, and the grandfather tells him the old tales and myths as they go - these are depicted - very interesting, lots of heart, good story, happy ending -

  • what a frightning song..from the lyrics to the music in the background..this reminds me of a movie call Race with the Devil..the entire Region..several towns..all Devil Worshipers and if they Found out you wasent one of them..they tracked you down and Killed you..this song always scared me..although I like it..but its one spooky tune.

  • A wiich never dies said my mommy

  • To all yall

  • Hey, Bro's, I am Chicano-Chiricahua Apache. These bro's were probably mixed blood. Unless a person grew up on a rez and never left the rez chances are the person is mixed blood native-american. A Full-blooded native is slowly disapperaring. Native-Americans are marrying outside the tribal traditions. I am an example of this and probably were the brothers from" REDBONE". You want to learn more about the Native-Americans consider checking-out powwow's. Everyone welcomed! Miguel , Mendota,CA.

  • @MrApache56 Viva La Raza and AIM.

  • @MrApache56 -id like to check that out, been to one a long time ago, dont remember much, too little

    have to go again

  • @MrApache56 Thanks for the info MrApache. My complete respect and humble honour I send in your direction through our shared blood and belief in the Great Creator. I have Mohawk and Huron blood running through my veins. It grounds me to my roots and gives me the deep feeling of of peace in pride. Mike from Northern Ontario Canada

  • Marie, Marie, da voodoo veau, she´ll put a spell on you

  • There is a group called Indigenous that is a Native Blues Band. They are incredible!

  • These guys were Mexicans from LA. The only guy who was a Native American from a reservation is the drummer, who was at one time a pow-wow drummer.

  • @gregputman Correct. They sure as fuck ain't injuns!

  • OMG! I totally love this! Redbone rocks!

  • @1958boomergirl you should, since you used to blow all three members of Redbone until your tonsils popped out.

  • American indians? Say what?!

    Cripsakes they're Mexicans!

  • Takes me back to my school days ... aaaah lovely memories x

  • I was 12/13yrs when i first heard this, luv it //(-_-)\\

  • this is a jam! Love Redbone

would you happen to have "message from a drum"

  • This group was my first concert I attended, at St. Marks high School back in 1971.

  • i will love this track forever!

  • I wen to see this group back in 1972, it was also my first date to a daughter of a cop; he came to the door wearing his service pistol on one side and the other side bore a German shepard. I felt like saying "tell Patti I was here"

  • This song is funked-back! and hard as hell to play and sing if you're a guitar player. That lick feels so right and the raised 9 sounds so out there. Sorry if non-musicians don't get it. Otherwise this song has perfect lyrics, perfect guitar rifts, that haunting background howling thing (looks like Lolly Vega is using some kind of drumstick across the high E string or something). Anyhow, go Redbone. Ya ta he!!! Johnny Pal of MangoDaville

  • Red Bone Oh,Yeah! RedPower.

  • Alberta??????

  • Yeah!

  • Voodoo is very real. black magic direct contact with satan a little too scary for me. but I love this song. Its so spooky. No 1 Halloween song forever!

  • No other song comes to mine than this one on Halloween..whoa to those who venture in to deep dark woods stopping at a little huts and shacks hidden in deep brush. not just in new orleans lol..in any dark woods. i have heard of voodoo being practiced in south carolina as well. a woman hired a voodoo woman to put a spell on a fellow running opponent.the check she wrote bounced so the voodoo woman turned the lady in. fact is if the check had not bounced.she would have Casted the Spell.

  • GREAT!!!!

  • Happy Birthday Lolly Vegas 69 today

  • only top

  • sssssssoooooooooooooooooo 70's!!! love it(^-^)

  • great song,performance somewhat lacking ?

  • can anyone help me.....i need the lyrics to this song...the witch queen of new orleans.....

  • la brujas de new orleans saludos en youtube...la honorable sociedad

  • Redbone is NOT all American Indian. as the saying goes,They are mixed, but they are KOOLL.

  • I remember this song also sung by (RED BONE).Oh so many years ago.I still love it.She'll put a spell on you,She's a witch queen of New Orleans. Thanks smile Peace

  • Love it! A witch queen never dies.

  • Hauntingly...cool.

  • my dad met my mum to this tune. he used to call her the witch queen. good tune

  • Greatest beat in a rock song ever...one of the greatest guitar performances too, rates up there with Long Cool Woman (Hollies, also '72 diddy), One of These Nights (Eagles '75), et. al.

  • Feed back helpful, the Vegas Bros. Pat and Lolly are Vasquez. Then there are the Gurrero Brothers. All of the origional Redbone...Right?

  • Wrong Luna...

  • Agree!

  • Marie-Marie LeVoodooVeau (Sept. 10, 1801 -- June 16, 1881) 80 yrs.

    Edgar Allan Poe (Jan.19, 1809 -- Oct. 7, 1849) 40 yrs. SOUL MATES!

  • To understand the music of Redbone, enlighten yourself on the concept of "Manifest Destiny" (Wikipedia). . Mexicans are Mayan/Aztec Indians. They share the same DNA of all the original people, natural born heirs, of North, Central and South America.

  • You have NO idea what your talking about. Not a clue.

  • I still play this group because their songs rock to this day! Can't beat this Indian rock/soul/funky group! So proud I have all their vinyls!

  • Redbone Forever!! I love this song and all their songs. Timeless!! Thanks for posting.

  • I haven't heard this song in over 20 years! A friend played it on a 45 and I was mesmerized! Thanks for posting!

  • good news, there's an album realesed from Leo Bennink & Beehive feat.Eric Tagg with 19 songs incl.Hoang Ho,on the iTUNES store .

  • Hi I love this band

  • wow, this is cool. where are they now?

  • wish I hadn't checked...Lolly, whose name and stunningness would've been perfect for me(Polly and Lolly Vegas...Pa=Lease!) had a stroke in '97...reports they're in the Netherlands for years now, because Europe embraced them more than US....dumbasses US! I just got RE-turned on 2 them...would appreceiate any info and if anyone can find videos to post...would give right arm for Maggie,Wovoka, or One More Time

    I got the lighter ready.....

Tom Jones blows Redbone is the real shit!
