  • This is so "glam-rock". Sounds like something The Sweet or Suzi Quatttro would have done.

  • Their show was a hoot! Not only that, they actually had musical talent!!

  • No thanks -- we're trying to cut down!

  • why hasn't this been released in digital? like on itunes, etc? they are crazy not to do this

  • "The Hudson Brothers Stars of Saturday Morning TV Shoe The Razzle Dazzle Comedy Hour singing Rondevous"

As Ed Sullivan would say, "We've got a really big shoe tonight"!

  • When I was a kid of 7-8 years old.. I remember watching their show on CBS Saturday mornings.

  • mother fucking morons

  • Bill, Mark, and Brett hit #26 in Billboard, 8-23-75. God bless ya, for postin' it. Thanx!

  • @DaveWollenberg I was 14 during the summer of '75 and I remember other artists on the charts then, such as "America", "KC and the Sunshine Band", "The Captain and Tennille", "Elton John" and the "Doobie Brothers". Do you have Joel Whitburn books?

  • @ovicello61 I sure do! That's where I got the peak position, and peak date from.

  • Hey Bill, come with me on a Rendezvous!

  • written by bruce johnston of the beach boys

  • @rouens AHA! SO, that explains the Beach Boy-esque alto harmonies. One part Beatles, one part Beach Boys, all Hudson Brothers. Too bad their Razzle Dazzle Show was such a bomb. It started out so great, but fell quickly into mediocrity. I blame their boss Fabulous Freddie. Cool van, though; rivaled the Scooby-Doo Mystery Machine for hippie art style. The one act that always made me howl with side-splitting laughter was Ron Hull & his Australian Emu. What a crack-up.

  • Great video for a great song.

  • Oh, wow, Hudson Bros.! I've met these guys - they were really fun! Before a concert once, I watched a pool game between the 3... Billy won.. and Brett had to pay up! Gosh, brings back so many memories...thanx for posting! :)

  • I remember this song from 1974, and also "So You Are A Star". At least one of those songs must be on those Rhino "Have A Nice Day" CDs. Their TV shows weren't bad either. I usually listened to Sabbath, Grand Funk or Zeppelin at that time, but I'm not ashamed to admit that I thought they were OK. I hope Brett is doing better; he's been battling health problems for a while now.

  • Mark Hudson molests little girls and gets the charges covered up as "Sexual Harassment"

  • @YVT2007 At least offer up some proof. If you're talking about the Danielle Brisebois thing. No civil or criminal charges of any kind relating to any of the allegations were ever filed against Hudson by any individual or company.

  • As one might have expected television ruined this extraordinary pop act. Go and pick up a copy of their CD "Best of the Hudson Brothers." You won't be disappointed. Echoes of Lennon, Macca, Emitt Rhodes, Gerry Rafferty, Brilliantly written and produced songs. This was not a glam-pop act; in fact, they were incredible rockers. Television ruins everything it touches.

  • @PrincetonDeluxe Not only that, but their musical pedigrees include Julliard, Eastman, Berklee, Royal Scottish Academy and Conservatoire National Supérieur. Billy was guest conductor for the Moscow Philharmonic, and Brett artist-in-residence at the London Symphony. Mark studied opera and has performed tenor in numerous Puccini roles throughout Europe. At one point, the three brothers considered purchasing the Metropolitan Opera and renaming it the Hudson Opera, in deference to the Hudson River.

  • Does anyone know where i can get copies of Bonkers! ... that show was hilarious :)

  • WTF Brett? I wanna Rendevous. I have a turn table & five albums but no needle on it (also plays * tracks). Werre your albums (vinyls) also on 8 track coz I collect them? A true Hudson brothers fan adn was their #1> ALLOTHERS ARE FALSE AND I CHALLENGE YOU TO A HB TRIVIA TOURNEY TO PROVE IT. SILLYHEART21 OR ME ON FB. I DARE ANY OF YOU TO PROVE THAT U R THE ALPHA FEMALE OF HB TRIVIA! BRETT LOVES ME MORE THAN YOU BUT IF YOU WANT HIM, I'LLTAKE MARK (WHEN MY HUSBAND DIES .NOT THAT I AM GONNA ..

  • Wtf? why can't I listen to Rendez vous. You know I wanted to take you on one. Shikes ill make up the lyrics. Rondez vous ooh ooh ohh Rendez vous. Ronde Ronde Ronde Vous. ya know I wanna take u on a ....

  • is it not supposed to say "rendezvous" like the actual word?

  • This sounds sooo much like the Beach Boys! I remember requesting this on radio in 1994 and was the first time my name was mentioned on the airwaves. ;)

  • @fatpizzaman I remember! I wondered who they were talking about when the announcer said, "Here's the Hudson Bros. for Fat Pizza Man".

  • Sorry, Dave, but they had an even bigger hit a year earlier with "So You Are A Star" It reached #21 on Billboard..

  • Kept 'em from bein' 1 hit wonders. HIt #26 in Billboard.

  • LOL.. I had such a thing for mark.. for years.. So you are a star was my theme song :) lol...very adorable song.

  • Still so fun hearing this song! I loved The Hudsons - met them several times - they were really good in concert! Oh, Brett!!!!!

  • The story on them making the cover of 16 magazine so much is that the editor at the time, Gloria Stavers, kind of had a thing for Bill Hudson. Soooo, he and his brothers got big coverage in her magazines 16 and 16 Spec.

  • I used to luv their show... Especially the cameo from the emu!

  • These guys reallllly made my tweens a great time. Met them...saw them in concert multiple times and enjoy the simple, joyous pop they played. Still think Mark is a FOX.

  • That should be "Rendezvous", not "Rondevous".

But however you spell it, it's a great song!

  • I loved the Hudson Brothers!!! - I still have this song on a 45!!! - I had a huge crush on Brett!!!

  • hey anyone got any clips of their summertime replacement variety show?

  • they didn't look like Hudsons...Hudson is a Dutch name...these guys looked more like italiano's

  • well maybe they are italianos born into a dutch family and were given the chinese name sum ting wong

  • the family name is actually salerno. it was angelisized to hudson.

  • Thanks for posting this.

I only recently heard this song for the first time, and I really love it!

  • Their last name is really Salerno, they are Italian.

  • Goldie really did anumber on Bill. She turned their kids against their dad - she is a real piece of work! Never liked Goldie and after she did that I really didn't. Oliver looks just like Bill too. Oliver is on the sitcom Rules of Engagement now.

Cindi was more human, and when they split Bill got custody of kids.

  • Now Brett is battling throat cancer. You can read his blog at his myspave page bretthudson1

  • Oh my gosh, Ive dated myself. What a trip that Kate Hudson won't even speak to her dad. Shame on her.

  • wOW they never bring that up. He was with Cindy? And with Goldie or vs. Don't know the scoop. It was a rendouvoue.

  • Nice summer song that the Beach Boys never wrote.

  • Love the Hudson Brothers! My favorite was always Mark. I always watched their show on Saturday morning (wasn't it right before American Bandstand?). My only small, almost- not-worth-mentioning critical remark...Isn't the title song word spelled R-E-N-D-E-Z-V-O-U-S?? Just curious. Thanks for the post!!!

  • OMG Brett! YOu make me sooo horny.

  • lol...Brett is sooo gorgeous....it takes me back to being 10....

  • And of course, when I saw him now. could not believe it. So bad but back then at 10 I could do many things with him. lol Just look at him. lol I would set him on my shelf for very good luck, take him to school and show all the girls. And give him a my first kiss. :)

  • they were on elton john's label- rocket records! i had all their stuff!!

  • I used to watch these guys back in the 70's. I thought they were absolutely gorgeous. By the way, it's spelled Rendezvous.

  • Ya Mother

  • They suck so bad-three hairy guys from Portland-they dont look like Hudson to me-more like Houdini's.

  • I'm a Hudson so please tell me what I'm suppose to look like???/

  • Hey, "hair" was chic back in the 70s, whether it be head or chest hair ... so sad youngn's these days don't understand how things were different other than what's "now" ...

  • wow.. I had every one of those pictures/magazines..

    what memories..

  • ...and here I am thinking I was the only one who adored these guys.

  • No way...at age 12-13, I was totally in love with Brett!!!

  • Dude! What program did you use for these great effects? Awesome! Congrats and thx for the memories!!!

  • I love their voices

  • Wow! This sure takes me back! I had most of those posters in my room!! Don't know what ever happened to them but thanks for the memories!! My sisters used to HATE this song - because I played the 45 over and over and over and...

  • Excellent video!! OMG, I haven't seen those pictures in sooooo long!! Thanks for bringing back such great memories of the Hudsons!!!!!!

  • Up until just a few years ago I had 95% of these photos. I was a NUT JOB when I was a teen for these guys. Saw them a few times in person, stayed at the same hotel and even met Mark. He was such a nice guy!! Bill was jerk. Their Uncle Cheech was a sweetheart.

  • Well, I guess it explains why his daughter never speaks of him. Mmm

  • Brett also had a crush on Cher's sister Georget La Pierre, and his favorite color was Mauve.. By the way Ba-FA means go to...

  • The correct spelling is "rendezvous"

  • The Hudson Brothers Razzle Dazzle Show will be released on dvd June 17th.

  • I remember when Brett Hudson said he had a crush on Marie Osmond...I wanted to kill that beeaayootch sooooo baaaaaaad!!

  • The Hudson Brothers Razzle Dazzle Show - The Complete Series is $29.98 SRP for 355 minutes' running time, and VSC will release this on June 3rd.

  • Varese' released a compilation years ago "So You Are a Star" which is long out of print. Has some of the great stuff from 1975's "Ba Fa" which is my personal fave. They were really great song writers!

  • super fanatastic where can i get their cd/s ?

  • I got all my albums on ebay. All in great shape.

  • I had EVERY LAST ONE of these pictures!!!! I STILL have my albums!ROFL!!

Met Mark a few times. What a great guy. Bill and Brett were pissy.

  • I saw the Hudson Brothers in "The Wizard of Oz" WAAAAAY back in 1975 at the St. Louis Municipal Opera--they played the Scarecrew, the Tin Woodsman and the Cowardly Lion. And you KNOW they just had to incorporate the line "No, thanks, I'm trying to cut down". 20,000 people in the audience fell apart...... LOL

  • UGH. This is torture.

  • I was a huge Saturday morning fan. The Hudsons are great.

  • Kate's dad is Bill Hudson.

  • What one is Kate's dad??????????

  • a poor mans three dog night.lol!

  • ROFL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Fun top 40 hit from 1975. Great Saturday morning TV show as well. Nice job on the video! Thanks for posting.

  • Hi daryl060761! -

I met them thru sheer perserverence! lol As much as Brett was my favorite, Mark was the real charmer & tons of fun! We used to shout "Ba-Fa" at each other, everytime we met(it was the name of one of their albums).Once, I met up with Bill & Goldie once;(Bill was a dream, Goldie was a drag!)

    "Ba-Fa"!

  • Goldie was a drag? Wha Tha Fa?? You must live in Los Angeles or something...to keep running into them! Well maximum respect to you for being a fan, and meeting up with what seems to be 3 great guys. I absolutely loved the Razzle Dazzle show, and played the heck out of my Rendezvous 45 (with a very cool Medley on the flip-side). Great posting...thanks!!! Ba-Fa!

  • hey thanks for the memories

  • I think they had more talent than they were given credit for. They lost their artistic credibility early on, what with their comedy show and their kid's show. They became teen idols, and nobody took them seriously anymore. It's hard to believe that John Lennon and Elton John and Cher used to be part of their social circle, and that Bill was once married to Goldie Hawn. I'll bet they haven't seen or spoken at any of those people in decades (John Lennon excepted, due to his untimely death).

  • Proper spelling is "rendezvous"

  • Oh my...I was like in the 8th grade and I would watch these guys and want to marry them....they were hot...HEY MarGOlis! lol those were the days..

  • I loved The Hudson Brothers in the 70's(Brett was my favorite)I saw them in concert several times & was lucky enuff to meet them on several occasions - they were wonderful to meet; very cute & funny - thanks for the great memories

  • Wow! How did you manage to meet them?

  • Back in those days you could just walk up to them and start talking to them or find out what hotel they were staying at for the concert.

Their Uncle Cheech (their 'escort')was a great guy! Their band members ROCKED! We even played "SPIT" (a card game) with them just about the whole night the night before a concert in Philly in the hallway of their hotel floor. (The band not the brothers)

  • Anybody know how old these guys would have been at the time of their biggest fame? It seems that 14 year old girls were oggling 3 25-ish brothers!

  • Are you lieing. ?

  • Love it Love it Love

Would love to see So You Are A Star. It's on my ipod. I never get tired of it.

  • Anybody know where to get a copy of their comedy routine "The Adventures Of Chucky Margolis"? It was on the same album as this and So You Are A Star.

  • Oh my God I loved Chucky Margolis-I can't even remember much of it-I was a wee kid but I remembered the name and that I loved it! That and the emu were my favorites. Thanks for the posting. BB in FL

  • It's on the "B" side last track of "Hollywood Situation"

The one with them in the White Leisure Suits on the cover ;)

  • It's on the "B" side last track of "Hollywood Situation"

The one with them in the White Leisure Suits on the cover ;)

  • I used to LOVE these guys! I wish their TV show (not the kiddie show, but the one that used to air at night) would be made available for purchase!

  • Bill Hudson was married to Goldie Hawn, briefly. Their daughter is actress Kate Hudson.

  • and oliver hudson is their son

  • I was sooo in love with Brett-I would have gladly has all of his babies!!!!

  • OMG-

What great memories this brings back. I was hopelessly in love with Brett and would have gladly had all of his babies!!!

  • Brett Hudson was my first big crush - I was about 10. I'd actually forgotten how adorable he was till watching this video! Great job. Thanks.

  • I had every single one of these pics from the teen magazines. I even had pics of me holding these pics. Even though Donny Osmond was my first big crush, Brett Hudson will forever remain THE crush for me. There has never been a cuter teen idol than Brett! He was ABSOLUTLEY ADORABLE!!!!

  • isn't that one fine looking man?

  • Back in the 70's I was a total moron for these guys. I even met them back in 1977. They were very friendly and lots of fun.

  • Cute video. I wish somebody would put up their song "So You Are A Star".

  • Thanks for the flashback! I have all of those posters and more in a scrapbook somewhere. Brought back a lot of good memories!
