  • this guy would tool qbert, kentaro, a trak all in their prime the hardest would be mix master mike with some preparation

  • @alistilla2 kentaro maybe not kentaro is a lot cleaner but its a tricky one as a all round dj thou craze hands down cus he got every aspect locked down

  • nice hand

  • he is literally the best dj to ever walk this earth

  • @willothewispme grandmixer qbert man. craze is just a smidge behind

  • everyones right..the NO FADER routine uses dj swamp's skip proof blue vinyl..the last routine uses his own

  • @djhyr0 I'm not sure what you are alluding to. The debate was over if the record that craze was needle dropping to was or was not a scratch proof record not the bully breaks record that was being mixed in. The no fader part of the set "DID" use a skip proof vinyl.

  • simply the best

i have watched loads of djing videos of pros like craze sratch and backtrack but no 1 comes close to this set craze is the best at what he does and the video is proof of it

  • tune at 2.40 is ed rush and optical - watermelon on 33rpm speed

  • whats the track starting at 2:08?

  • This guy was a God amongst boys. Haven't seen what he's like these days. Honestly, I bet he got bored kicking everyone's ass back then.

  • I just came

  • whats the record at 2:10? i love those grimy sounds

  • @SmokeyLightSouldiers the tune@2:10 is a drum & bass track called Watermelon by Ed Rush & Optical

  • gods gift

  • whats the beat on 3:32 ? im trying to find it.

  • @hudihuds DJ Craze - Bully Breaks !!!!

  • @hudihuds Recognize - L.O.X.

  • What a routine, fucking killed it

  • its called a skip-proof record. its the same loop of samples over and over... hahaha u call urself a dj? stick ur cd decks rave queer.

  • Anyone know what the beat at 3:30 is where he killed the contest?

  • @jakelhildebrand its on his own battle record, bully breaks i think?

  • @djclixthebeatman i found it, thanks

  • He won this at the 3:45 mark.. "NO FADER"... Crazy.... How he picks up the needle and finds the same spot over and over.... Genius.

  • @djescobar it's a special vinyl pressed...ciao

  • @fefedj its one of dj swamp's records

  • @fefedj thought it was a swamp record hes cuttin with.

  • @fefedj try again. Old school needle drop. From the Grandwizard Theodore days. Do some homework.

  • @neilsix it's a special vinyl pressed

  • @fefedj he's needle dropping on a break record.

  • the record he used was his own break record, Bully Breaks 1 (confirmed w/ Craze on Twitter yesterday). The samples were all on the same vinyl, but he still had to needle drop the SAME BREAK. Otherwise, it wouldn't have been special.

  • @djescobar @fefedj stop saying special vinyl pressed...it's from dj craze bully breaks

  • @neilsix Do you get it the record he used is a special vinyl pressed meaning it didn't matter where he dropped the needle my friend.

  • @TheGameIsLost yes I do. It was his own break record, Bully Breaks (I confirmed it with Craze himself on Twitter). Find it on youtube if you don't believe me. That No Fader part did not use any skipless samples, as not many break records back then were skipless (skipless came in a year or two later during the gag seal era).

    So again, do your homework.

  • @neilsix do a youtube search and type in "DJ Craze - DMC 2000 Set" go to four seconds of the video and pause it. It says the scratch proof tool. Either you are lying or Craze is! Which one is it!

I can't cut and paste the direct link.

  • @neilsix You do some homework

go to the 2:15 second video on youtube entitled "DJ Craze - DMC 2000 Set"

Says scratch proof tool. Don't be passing around wrong info loser!

  • @djescobar its called needle dropping

    /watch?v=aRM4xHnzEPg&feature=mfu_in_order&list=UL

  • @djescobar he can drop it anywhere within a certain area of the record it will always say same shit. skipless record

  • @djescobar there are tracks on the record that are continuous loops of each sound, to allow for 'needle drops'

  • @djescobar skip- proof vinyl bro

  • @djescobar you know that's how they did it before the crossfader entered the game?

  • @djescobar He won it when walked onto the stage

  • @djescobar skip proof record dude there will be like a minet on the record with 3 samples repeated and laid out so they are in the same area of record thats how he did it still sic thou

  • Freestyle - its automatic

  • WoW!! I took a look at both this set and Dexta's - NO COMPARISON! DJ Craze took it to another level!

  • The faderless part was str8 money but man, I preferred Dexta's set over this one.

  • The no fader scratch segment was absolutely dope. Scratches weren't overly complex, just good ol funky shit

  • that was a pretty boring routine. how can you compare that to dj dexters clapped out craziness. felt like having a cup of tea watching this, just wanted to jump up and down and go nuts watching dexters. title went to the wrong guy!

  • Comment removed

  • That was the best routine i see him do... hands down

  • @jooniec his 1998 was the best one

  • Survival of the fittest; the one who can follow changes. I like how the hiphop DJ Noize video from same year have 100.000 views and this have 67.000....

  • good lord, the needle drops were so on point.

  • I send this video as a Battle cry to all those CD Dj's !

Craze will kill you with wax Everytime !

  • @MrShagnasty18 i agree... for scratching.. cdj's are the best hands down for mixing house/electro/trance/hardstyle/hardcore/dubstep

  • dont get any better than this

  • I have all the tunes he used in this sequence and I have to say Craze is my favourite scratch DJ.... Just for how he mixed the records with style and the way he changed between sections of this set... Even the check how calm he is as if he does this EVERYDAY!!!!

  • Genious! Incredible Title Defense! Great way to go out and complete the 3 peat! Craze was King! HIS 3 WINNING SETS ARE ALL TIME INNOVATIVE CLASSICS!

  • fav set of all time....watch his '98 set and see how much better he got in that short time!

  • good justice intro

  • 5:36 killed the contest

  • @khalik001

You kidding right? go to 3:40 of the set. that's where he killed the contest!

  • Craze, Klever, Kentaro, Q-Bert...all start with "k" sound...hmm...

  • o damn so much better then 99....brilliant like fuckserz said.

  • Damn he blended in with the turntables and the music. All became one entity.

  • What is the track playing at 3.34?

  • @iidjkg I've got that tune on mp3 it's part of a battle record, can't remember the name but you can have it

  • Where my subwoofer at for god's sake

  • dope dude. keep it real!

  • this routine blows my mind every damn time... from the ali sample all the way to the "yo last time i'ma tell these niggas, niggas can't fuck around..." my god brilliance in a 6 min set...

  • 1:40 melted my face into a cup then at 2:20 i drank it to stay alive

  • WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Damn that man is great at what he does!!! :)

  • anybody no the beats he used?

  • Watermelon itchies killed it

  • bes eva !"!!

  • Dexta was good but Goddammmmmnnn this is S I C K !!!

  • beat jugglin drum & bass craze got mad skillz!

  • technically craze is off the hook, the needle droppin' amazes me everytime I see how presice it is!

  • sickest shit ever!!!

  • Hotdamn, so great... that needle dropping is awesome!!!!

  • do i really need to say how fly that set was??

  • This routine is simply brilliant!

For innovation in the way of composing,

for the kind of sounds chosen (I think even that Craze was the first or at least one of the first to bring drum and bass sound into the competitions),

for the variety and the complexity of the techniques (10 years ago Craze was technically complex as those of today, expecially for the beatjugglin),

and for the transitions too, which are never sharp and make the whole set continuous and linear.

    Genius...

  • @fuckserz i agree 100%, and know exactly what you mean!

  • @fuckserz

Craze masters lots of aspects of turntablism.

Some (a lot) master scratching very well .. but juggle very poor or vice versa.

Craze masters ALL aspects briljantly, timing, sounds, juggle's trics, scratches, doing what sample's 'say' ( noo nnooo fader .. ah yeah .. WITH NO FADER)

    simply masterclass

  • @fuckserz this is by far one of my favorite routines of all time, and you are right in every aspect of what you posted. He inspires me to not underestimate the importance of transition and flow

  • 50,000 views! craze is a god

  • 2:43

sickness so pure its a 3 course gourmet meal

  • that routine is crazy stupid

  • You're a idiot. Craze was never the best juggler, scratcher or mixer but this routine is flawless.

Dexta had a good routine in 2000 and that routine easily beats other DMC world champ routines but not this one and not in this particular year.

The better DJ won. Don't forget, 2000 was not the only year Dexta came up short and for good reason!

    regards

  • agreed dexta's set was viscious

  • mooooom, can you buy me some of that skills?

haha...wish could be that easy. Craze-ass-talented-mof****.

I would give 9 stars to this. Damn

  • why 9 as opposed to 10 stars ? just curious

  • 3:16 killer dropin

  • Sick needle dropping, huge technique, perfect timing + one and only craze style :)

    perfection in action!

  • actually I wwould have given it to Rockid that year. Razor was the most technically proficent as well.

  • He at least sacked it up and risked losing. Most won't now days.

  • I was there! Its was DOPE!

  • real turntablism here

  • love this battle set. exellent timing & style.

  • I think this guy was asked nicely by DMC not to come back because he was too good and it was unfair on the other contestants. Six times DMC world champion if i'm not mistaken.....

  • three times only.

and i don't know if he would beat kentaro routine from 2002 ;)

  • Yeah? My mistake, and i did see the kentaro routine. excellent.....

  • I'd like to see Craze or Kentaro vs Fly

  • I get goosebumps watching this routine

  • Flawless set son...

  • the funny thing on this routine is that he won using his own signature carts

  • i remember being on the phone when he was doing this routine.

  • I remember buying this video and watching the knockouts.

Craze just blew it apart, especially using drummers. Classic.

  • The No Fader scratch is one of the sickest things ever in the history of DMC ... period

  • yo whats the beat/song at like 1:19 with all the kick drums?

  • perfect!!!

he changed it all from there on!

  • god that was beautiful

  • I love Craze but Dexta should win that year... :)

  • Dexta set was mean but juggle wise his juggles were standard patterns don't you think? Where is I reckon craze won on creativity ... every year he won he always had 1 thing that was different to the other djs

  • u muthafuckin right cuz!!!!!

  • when he does the faderless scratching / needle drops, is he using some sort of sealed record with the sample stretched over alot of the grooves or is he hitting the groove of the record every time perfectly?

  • I think i remember someone saying it was speacialized vinyl thats doesnt skip, not stretched samples

  • I meant ignorant retard by the way.

  • nah man he has to hit the actual groove ... alot of practise and i reckn alot of frustrations! haha that is sooooo percision to hit the correct groove

  • actually I have those records..the sound repeats at the same position on the vinyl many times so its easier than u think. but that doesnt take anything away from his skill, just wanted to make a point

  • nah man its a sealed record by dj swamp.. the allies use it for their team guitar routine at the ITF western hemisphere battle...the series is called the skip-proof scratch tool

  • i honestly think noize deserved to win this year dnt bite my head off just my opinion

  • I cant begin to think how he made this routine up :O

    GENIUS

  • he got stoned and turned some knobs and pushed a record back and forth. SO GENIUS OH MY GOD

  • Do you have any idea how technical it is to be a GOOD dj? Clearly you don't.

  • well then, care to come down from your pedestal and do better? no? didnt think so

  • go and listen to bon jovi then you fucking dunce. If you had any idea how hard this is you'd shut your mouth

  • ha ha...ok

  • yeah he's pretty much turning some knobs and moving some records just like a pianist bashes some black and white keys. what your saying is if a guitar player had any talent it would be his name on the guitar? not everyone gets into music to release songs on record... believe it or not.

  • i fucking love you for that comment.

  • Idiot !!!!!

  • if its that easy buy some tables, mash some buttons and spin some records and if your as good as the worst dj in DMC then you can talk as much shyt as you want till then shut up and go beat ur meat or somethn

  • lol why so i can impress a bunch of wanna be douchebags who cant make REAL music?

sorry i have better things to do. hah

  • Sorry to burst your bubble but if it weren't for dj's a lot of artists would have a terrible time being heard. Who do u think radio stations hire to play the music? Who do u think plays that music in clubs? And actually many dj's do make music. Dj clue questlove actually plays drums premier produces also. Red man was a dj before he started rapping. Manny fresh. Just to name a few djing opens doors to many opportunities so please leave ur simple minded douch bag comments inside ur head thnx

  • LOL did u hurt your feelings? You poor baby im ssssoooo sorry. Also, rap is NOT music. Its the same measure over and over with some guy talking about the hood. lolz here is a tissue, go cry me a river

  • Lol rap is not music? I will admit the shyt now a days is garbage and I never said rap. That my friend is hip hop there's a difference. Hip hop has emotion and feeling. Rap is mostly about the hood but so wut. Wuts rock? Ppl screamin for five mins and pointless ass solos. Djing happens to be one of the 4 elements of hip hop. If u didn't have ur head n ur ass maybe u could not listen and leave stupid comments for those of us that actually listen to this. Dnt bother replyin bak this is pointless

  • whats real music to you?

  • CRABCORE

  • oh god you can not be serious they start off as hard ass rockers then turn into lil pussy emos singing techno LOL LOL

  • Are you fucking stupid? It's not techno you idiot. It's freestyle. One of the many genres that can be mixed quite well. If you think other wise you're an idiot. Just look at Z Trip. Ingorant retard.

  • 3.42 to 4.25 is some of the illest shit mankind has ever seen

  • dj craze is simply one of the best djs in the world..i dont think on one can win the dmc 3times in a row like he did.this dude is awesome

  • idc what anybody says this dude is simply and purely awesome

  • he's a cool guy when i got the chance to hang out with him at the france festival.

he di8d grezat on this contest . good job yo

  • Anyone knows what song he plays on his left turntable at 2.44?

  • that whole segment is a juggle of ed rush & opticals "watermelon" what he's doing on the part you asked is turning the platter off and pulling the record back and as it goes forth every time (w/ the platter slowing down ) it produces what you see @ 2:44 hope that helps

  • the best turntablist is mixmaster mike,q-bert,and craze

  • and dj bminus. a**.

  • what song is betwen 4:58 - 5:00

  • Comment removed

  • Noize would have won if the needle didnt skip

  • NO FADER ON YAY!

    HAHAH

    GREAT SKILLS

  • "oh yeah"

  • craze is 2 sick

  • you fake ass ******

  • amazing :)

  • sic he's using loads of dnb records, always loved him for his love for dnb. that sounded redundant

  • i saw Craze at Club Laga in Pittsburgh in like 2003 and it was so fucking unbelievable...he was so in command and so far off in the zone i felt like i was staring up at Jimi Hendrix...like foreal it just seemed like he could do whatever he wanted with the records, ya know, like make any sound or play any beat he wanted

  • what's the name of the song or bea that plays on 2:00 I need to get my hands on it!!!

  • 2:10 is Watermelon - Ed Rush and Optical

  • thanks man real good horns on that beat

and that scratch documentary is real hard to find as well thanks for putting it on youtube I think the last time I saw it was on the documentary channel.

  • fuck i think he did out do klever on this one.

  • Huh? Did he do that on 1:20? Wow!

  • not his best set i liked the 1999 and 98 better than this one. 94 too

  • yeah i agree with you.

  • Vaya Crack!!!!

  • Painful to watch... Too much skill for my tiny brain to process.

  • know what the tune is at 3:33???

  • anybody know what the tune is at around 3:32 and carries on throughout till 4:37?!!

    i love it!!!

  • uhhh you do realize that Craze is the only true 3 time world cmampion right? 1998, 1999, and 2000. So how is roc raida better? Lay off the drugs homie!

  • roc raidas a one trick pony.

i can just see him at a holiday camp when hes 80 still doing his ninja scratch.

kentaro and qbert and mixmaster mike make him look stupid

  • What does Roc raida (not roc raidas) have to do with this particular video? And even kenataro, qbert and mixmaster mike for that matter?

Set the crack pipe down homie!

    skillz

  • ceaze won the 200 dmc right?
