  • what does it run in the 1/4mile and times?

  • I agree i changed my 4 speed for a g50/50 2 years ago in my 1985 "930" and let me tell before i did any work too it she felt faster because of the close gear ratio's....secondly lets be nice cause i have a 68 Turbo Bug and she is fast but definately not in the same class as my 930....A 930 is a real mans car

  • Shes a beaut....! Porsche there is no substitute...

  • Ok, first the car has a G5050 5 speed transmission and it has if memory serves me around 657 LBS ft of torque.

  • you think you can run with my '10 zr1

  • alot of HP. to be sure, but why only 450 or so tq...cant be the turbo...my 94 turbo puts out 606hp...and 577tq. do u like the high end speed more??? anyway AWSOME CAR

  • what will this car do in the quarter mile run time? lol

  • Great car !

  • I'm guessing duanedragon doesn't know zuh fürst sing about zuh German engineering... hence his love hayte relationship mit zuh Käfer...

  • KICKS A LOT OF ASS PERIOD!

  • @malibuyou It is not the fastest out there but it does KICK ASS PERIOD

  • @911turbo733 having just driven a stock (282?hp) 930 and feeling how fast that was, I am pretty sure your 700+ hp is one of the faster cars out there :) Thanks for sharing!

  • @malibuyou It is not the fastest out there but it does KICK ASS PERIOD

  • nice i love the sound of a charged flat six!

  • nice i love the sound of a charged flat six!

  • thats a sik porsche!

    733hp is amazing in a small 89!

  • beautiful car

  • Is that sound at 2:45 the blow off valve?

  • Hmmmmmm, fudging the drivetrain losses by braking on the rundown.

    Quality.

  • That approximately 840hp at the crank. . . those are very very good numbers. Nice job

  • Nice ride! What are the specs (cam, fueling, heads, etc) on your build? 733 RWHP is a BIIIIIIG number!

  • You never parked this car at Infinion raceway during a Nascar race like 10 years ago did you? I have a picture of a purple GT2 replica 911 on similar wheels. I'm wondering if this is the same car I saw when I was a kid!

  • Nice video. Sweet car. How much boost? Oh, and you should be careful if you come to CA. There's another black, '89 Turbo Coupe - factory slant - with big power running around. ;-)

  • Germany had a very strong showing today . also the motor pulls very hard in forth . i must say a very solid showing Germany

  • @duanedragon2 First of all not sure why I would even bother to reply to this post but are you calling me an idiot because I said mod instead of modified? Second I am probably way older than you are, what do you call yourself duanedragon2 LOL probably all of 14. The 4 speed is no where near the the trany oh ya transmission that the G5050 5 speed is and when your old enough to afford a car like this maybe your daddy will buy you one! Stick with your VW I think it suits you.

  • @911turbo733

I don't get it. Yah you're right about the 4speed not being comparable to the G50 but he never said G50. In this year the only 5 speed would have been the 915. The four speed turbo transmission is a stronger version of the 915 so he is right to say that the 5 speed would not have survived the power output of the 930. ?? As for the "mod" comment he made. yah you're probably right about that one.

  • RH Weels - AL CUP 3pc. 24lbs each at 18/11 look almost identical to the Kinesis Supercup

  • yummy

  • Kinesis Supercups and I'm quite sure they were three piece wheels. This body style is my favorite 84-89 and the 993 which was made from 95-98. Especially the 98 twin turbo, the baddest air-cooled tubo of them all.

  • can anyone please tell me what the wheels are on the car???? cheers

  • Kinesis Supercups 18x11.5 rear 18x9 front they are no longer made.

  • @MrEMoney01 Speedlines for Porsche ... very rare ... not stock in '89. Came stock on the 964 3.6L Turbo (965 model designation, I believe)

  • quel son!!! rien a dire de plus!!

  • 930 was the most perfect body, porsche has ever made

  • So was 959. Boston Museum of Fine Arts had it on display .

  • Totally agree!

  • No wonder Blackbird is hard to defeat...

  • that intercooler air supply pipe is Awesome

  • all 930's are turbo right? So what generation can they attributed to? 964?

    thanks

  • not all 930's are turbo. 73 was the last year for 901 74 began the 930 and they didn't get turbochargers until 75, and not all of them had boost.

  • Eh?.. SCs ("Super Carreras") had the same 930 part numbers for certain pieces, but that doesn't make them 930s - is that what you're on about? (Some 930s have 901 numbers for certain parts, so I really shouldn't read too much into that.)

    'Mk1' 1974 3.0 930 had one turbocharger, no intercooler, 4-speed 'box and 265bhp (in non-US countries).

  • 77-89 I believe

    1990-1991 I think are the 3.3's still and 1992+ to current use a 3.6.

There are differences in each each generation motor...99+ is water cooled for starters:)

    930 till 89

    Incorrectly and popularly called a 965 1990-1994

    1995-1998 993

    1999-2005 996

    2006+997

  • Porsche ran some false "last chance to buy" marketing campaign in 1989 for the turbo, saying that they wouldn't be making another 911 turbo; fast forward to 1991 and the 964 turbo (aka 'C2Turbo') was produced.

Essentially it had exactly the same 3.3 engine as the 930, apart from 964 cams, a KKK-K27 turbocharger, and a slightly bigger intercooler.

964 Carreras have EFI; 930 engines had CIS (Bosch Continuous Injection System). 911 turbos didn't get proper EFI until the 993 twin-turbo model.

  • Beautiful 930 turbo!!!! Suchs sweet cars! Natural born fire breathers! Like the 934 we have at my work!! MONSTERS! Great build man!

  • WHAT EXHAUST IS ON THIS BEAST

  • That car must be incredibly scary to drive at max boost! Any attempts at road racing would no doubt be better at perhaps 400 RWHP or so and slicks!

  • Wow, Im over my 944 turbo dreams, Im going to have to sell it and buy a 930!

  • dont do that :)

  • Im not, I have dumped way to much into my 944's :)

    I had my 1987 944 NA supercharged-222rwhp

    I had my 1985.5 944 NA engine built to 250rwhp now its a 3.0 4cyl

my 1988 951 is still my project, I installed the Lindsey racing 300rwhp kit, now Im caming it and adding the 340 kit

  • hello.. I got a stock 87 slantnose 930 turbo here in Manila.. Is it possible to squeeze out 900-1200HP out of this sucker without any engine blow-out? If so what engine mod applications would you advise me to consider? Just need your expert advise thnx!!

  • Anything is possible but my car with the listed mods is about all you can get without sacrificing reliability and drive ability. If you had a 3.6 993 engine with the better heads and increased it to a 3.8 yes those numbers have been achieved. Just curious, why do you want that kind of power? My car can not put that power down with large barely legal street tires. 900 to 1200hp can only be fully used on a drag strip with drag radials.

  • Can you tell us how hard is it to drive fast?

I mean the the 930 with its stock power of 260-350 was a beast to drive. It must have been the reason for them putting a 4 speed trans so that you stay in one gear when going around corners.

  • U.S. emissions regulations meant that U.S. cars were rather less powerful than their RoW (Rest Of the World) counterparts.

First 911 in 1964 had 5-speed transmission. But 4-speed was used (instead of the 915) because Porsche couldn't create a 5-speed gearbox (in the space available) which was strong enough to take the 305+FtLbs of Torque; the 5-speed hydraulically operated 'box was introduced in 1989.

  • This car set up with the correct components pulls straight and will light the tires at 60mph when coming on boost but remains straight. This car is pulling very hard at 140mph and continues to pull very hard in 5th gear to red line (205mph) It is easy to drive in a straight line but a handful on the track. I drive it on a regular bases and it always gets a full boost blast.

  • It seems to me that a 6 speed tranny would have allowed the driver to keep it in boost more easily, and therefore not have to worry about boost enduced snap oversteer.

  • Then Again he would have to shift more frequently and that means more power "Surges" witch would make it skittish.

  • Very very impressive numbers on a 3.4 930!!! My 930 is also a 3.4L and makes 600whp at 1.25bar and Im hoping to get it to 700whp+ with more mods. To get there Im going to need more aggressive cams (I run GT2 cams) and additional headwork along with Carillo/Pauter rods to hold the engine together above 7000 revs. Your motor has all the right stuff :)

  • Shit the bed that thing's got some power. The last pull was strong as hell. Gotta be a fricken deathtrap in the wet when it comes on boost...!!! Fair play mate that's cool.

  • I have to say it,the 930 turbos are far far more sexy than the 997,the 996,and the 993,i really mean it,the way this sounds, the style and its power over grows more and becomes more stronger, this is a Porsche.

  • gorgeous offset wheels.. great sound.. amazing car!

  • Complete Engine Rebuild (Essa Tech) Heads ported & flowed (Dave Jarvis) Custom Garrett Turbo ball Bearing Pauter Rods Twin Plug Heads 3.2 Carrera Manifold Aeromotive fuel pump, larger fuel lines Custom Equal length Headers Engine Management Tec3r Full Sequential 95 lb Injectors Racing Valve Springs 3.4 Cylinders & Pistons Custom Intake Intercooler (4"x20"x14") Custom grind Cams Tilton 7.25" carbon, carbon 3 plate racing clutch 1450 lb-ft Quaife Differential
  • Wow! I'd estimate that 733RWHP would give your car a top speed of about 230mph - just a little bit quicker than my old, 313RWHP 930! ;o)

Do you go on any of the 911 turbo forums / Rennlist, etc?

  • Niiiiiice.

Tell us a bit about the fuel system, the turbocharger, and ignition.

And I thought my 438 RWHP on CIS was good ;-)

  • ahh! the turbo spooling up sounds fantastic.. and the wheels are gorgeous.. nice setup! best of luck with it!

  • beautiful.

    (I have a '77 930, ...but it's not this fast)

  • 89 and above was the better car to have, because they put the better trany in them. Would take more horse power. ;)

  • Not hard to put a 89 tranny in an older model :)

  • just listening to that made me get a woodie. I know, i know im a sick puppy . . . nope just a motorhead.

  • sweet setup! plus it idles very nice!

  • I have an older 930 too. A '76 bored to 3.2L, the engine build was a hair over $10,000. Its pushin over 420rwhp @ 1.0 BAR. I turn it up to 1.2 occasionally, it rips! But nothing like this haha. Check out my vids if u get the chance:)

  • Joe Essa Essa Tech Ft Lauderdale. I would start with a 993 platform if I had it to do over, better suspension starting with 3.6 better heads ect. Joe has 993 Porsche's that are street driven with 950rwhp one is for sale.

  • nice - protomotive? prototech? or powerhaus? who built it? I'd like to build one up

  • modified from 3.3 to 3.4

  • there was never a 3.4 in a porsche 930 was there?

  • Punishing power on that Porsche, hey what size turbo is on this car?
