still life is my favorite album of all time. i adore their acoustic side as much as the next guy, but the growling in the album seems completely appropriate concidering the situation the main character is placed in and also how it is accompagnied by an incredibly moving melody. i simply cannot describe the feeling i get from listening to that album.

My band's acoustic songs are based on the acoustic stylings of Opeth. They just manage to nail it every single song. Their acoustic songs take you out of your world and put you in a completely new one. My band will never be able to do it the way Opeth does, and I'm glad we wont be able to, because then it makes Opeth one of a kind.
