  • I've listened to this song for 20 years, now I see it in a totally new way. Thanks for posting this remix!

  • I like it. Nice work.

  • Fucking Awesome kickasses!!!!!!!!!!!!!1111

  • Still fucken cracken BLACKENED!!!!!!!!!!

  • K just heard this first time today. Wow. Wow. That sounds incredibly interesting. Not sure I can say I like it better. But not really sure yet. This is gonna take quite a few more listens. Ha. Wow. This sounds cool as sit (shit in the good sense).

  • the bass a bit too loud for me haha, it's interesting to hear what it actually sounds like lol but if it were my choice I'd have the bass a tiny bit quieter than the guitar

  • This sounds so much heavy it sounds a lot better, without the vocals it has an Exodus feel to it.

  • Strange thing is that Metallica keep commiting the same mistakes over and over again. I mean , you can't really hear the bass clearly in any Metallica album after AJFA. Maybe Load/Reload but that isnt the enough imo.

  • @MrPLANI Seriously? I think you can't hear it in any album BEFORE AJFA. What the hell, even if Death magnetic is mixed like shit, you can CLEARLY hear the bass pumpin'.

  • @nicolhaidi Maybe , but still not enough imo.

  • Brilliant !!!!! f*** Brilliant !!!

  • I love Megadeths crackin bass sound.

  • @spector1991 This is Metallica, dude lol

  • @MetalSystem91 and....

  • @MetalSystem91 I was replying to ajpiesanos comment and no shit it's metallica... wtf

  • you went from not a enough bass, to too much !

  • yeah

  • Fucking Amazing!!!!!!!!!!

  • just wish the album version sounded like this!!

  • after listening to soft songs like Adele for a few seconds..... I discovered I prefer this.

  • Jason helped write this song, consequently it has the most unique and original bass of any track on the album. It must have hurt so bad to hear the first song, his song, with the bass absolutely buried in the mix.

Metallica needs to quit dicking around and remix/master this album and release it properly.

  • sick, one of my fave metallica jams with some xtra meat

  • It's to loud & it's overflowing the guitars.

  • arrgghhhhhh.... can't fight this feeling...... this is soooooooo metalllll mann...

  • I think one of the reasons some people like Megadeth's sound better than Metallica's is because you can clearly hear the bass on their albums.Jmo

  • @ajpiesano Yeah well you can't really hear the bass on several Metallica album, but this album is extreme.

  • @ajpiesano agreed.that's why I love megadeth's dawn patrol.I don't even miss guitars on that track.the same applies to holier than thou,in the part where jason and lars are jammin without guitars or vocals.

  • ... if only the drums could be remixed too

  • @prinznevsky imo Lars did a pretty good job on this album. The kick drum is audible, and some of the fills are quite tasty although he could be a little more precise.

  • It took a fuckload of practise, but I can finally play this bassline with fingers. So damn savage, and I love it :D

  • Turn volume up to max at 0:56 will result in a mind blowing concussion worth getting. Bass fuck yeah /,,/

  • I think jason is better than cliff =S

  • @BBassGuy You're out of your mind if you think that, because Burton made a before and an after in Trash metal bass...

  • @gesdeath132 Sorry but i dont think burton is the best just because of his solos and he is dead i think jason bass lines are best and i dont think cliff should be considered the best bassist people like jason john entwistle geezer john paul jones should be more overrated (sorry for my bad english)

  • @BBassGuy Are you sure that Newsted have better solos than Burton??? HAVE YOU EVER LISTEN TO CALL OF KTULU OR ORION??? BURTON KICKS ASS THERE!!! lml

  • @gesdeath132 Yes i think that lots of bassists are better than cliff

  • @BBassGuy Your not alone man. I love Cliffs style and what he did for Metallica but to say he's the greatest is a little of an overdraw. I think people maybe embellish him because of his untimely and unfortunate death but there are much better players than he was. He will always be one of my personal favorites but things need to be kept in perspective.

  • @BBassGuy You are right, all those are good, but I think you forgot to mention Steve Harris from Iron Maiden. As far as rock and metal, he surely has got to be classed as one of the most experienced bassists. Cliff is good; really good and deserves to be remebered, not just because of his 50th birthday but all time; however I think it was wrong for metallica to turn Jason Newsted's bass down for And Justice for all. Don't worry about bad English; not as bad as the kids in my block of flats lol

  • @MrARB1975 I used to like Jason in Metallica; he put a considerable amount of effort into their live performances and was very much a part of the Metallica family and will always be noted for that.

  • @MrARB1975 uou sorry for not remember steve harris he is one of my favorites too

  • @BBassGuy

    No! D:

  • With a little lower bass volume, it would be the ideal mix!

  • Anyone have the whole album like this in 320kbps?

  • SO much better than the original. Not that the original wasn't great already.

  • @coasterking1991 although this sounds better the original seems to give out a message that metallica were putting jason to the test

  • Cliff & Jason BEST BASS PLAYER EVER

  • @alminbass You forget John Myung -.-

  • True. Sometimes comparing Newsted with Burton is annoying to me as they are different human beings and different bass players as well. But why the bass does not sound properly on this album? maybe we'll never know. Sounds cool though, but this is the real shit. Cool video, really nice one.

  • Colour our world blackened! BLACKENED!

  • Metallica should remaster this album NOW, and use this example

  • @WankenZeFurious Yeah, right!

  • Savage tune and band. Love it.

  • god im having an eargasm i bought this album when it first came out and its my favorite metallica album blackened is my favorite song but this version just knocks it out.

  • Dammit Metallica, re-mix and re-release this album!!!

  • I NEVER HAD ASS ORGSMS IN MY EAR

  • It sounds so much fuller and better! Thanks!

  • Finally Justice for Jason!

The whole album is a masterpiece as it is, I shiver thinking how it SHOULD sound like....

  • The really impressive part of this song starts at 4:06. That really makes a big difference with the bass made audible.

  • Wow, this sounds fucking fantastic.

  • Now all it needs is proper bassdrum sound

  • This is how it should have been!

  • Does anybody else notice that around 5:41 it feels like the rhythm changes or something like that... not sure what it is but it's always fucked with my head... like if he was playing on the downbeat before and then switched to the upbeat at that time

  • @nevets0910 It´s because is a 7/8 time signature.

  • Man im real sorry for Jason leaving he is real good basse player.

  • Listening to the album is not the same anymore. This has absolutely spoiled me!!

  • ONE OF THE BEST ALBUM COVERS

  • james's voice @ it's peak

  • is it really and justice for jason.lol :D

  • aweseme heavy bass

  • the 30 seconds of that intro made my dick hard, I'm buying an ibanez just to learn it

    fucking best ever !!!

  • I think it sounds better.

  • Just when it does get any heavier...it just got heavier

  • I definitely prefer the bass to be approximately this loud in the mix. The song becomes a completely new beast.

  • even though the bass in mixed way too loud (intentionally I know), it sounds 10 times better than the regular album. it finally has some balls.... that sterile, empty mix just sucks the life out of the album. AJFA is one album that should be RE-MIXED, (not re-mastered.)

  • @Coldacre i agree men, the problem was that AJFA was produced by james and lars, they even talk about how they on porpuse pute the bass the lowest possible wich was a huge mistake.

  • fucking hell. sex on a metallica record.

  • There is enough metal in this video to rebuild The Eiffel Tower.

  • @BayAtKafasi Under rated comment lol

  • @BayAtKafasi There are enough comments like this on you tube to annoy people

  • @villadavid4ever fuuuuuck you dickhead!

  • @BayAtKafasi WE HAVE THE TECHNOLOGY

  • @BayAtKafasi it would even cause a fatal crash with Magneto

  • @BayAtKafasi There is enough metal to build another Death Star.

  • Oh my fucking god - that shit Jason does from 4:07 to 4:31 -- I never knew he was doing that!!! This is trippy.

  • @MrDoggerDog That part is badass!

  • "And Justice For JASON." Lmao. Epic

  • fucking amazing the bass sounds really awesome!

  • drums on 1:56 sound really weak lol but i understand, the bass is what is being focused on in this track :D

  • 'This mix was not meant to be a proper mix of how loud the bass guitar SHOULD be on the album.'

Lies this is exactly the mix that should have been. :p

  • @patorr69 LOL! Agreed! It sounds so brutal!!!

  • What's wrong with this enhanced videos? I mean, AJFA really needs bass, and Jason made a great job, but the bass here is ridiculously loud, it overpowers the sound. What about a good mixing, with the bass at the right volume, not just screaming in front of every other instrument? It's really bad, sorry.

  • @TheFuckingVicious i have to agree, but that's not why we're listening to the version.

  • GO ON TO WACKEN!!! WACKEN!!!

  • the first drum snares in this song are soooo off haha

  • Jason Newstead isn't Cliff Burton by any means, but I say he's a helluva lot better than Trujillo. Finally some deserved justice for the whipping post of Metallica.

  • this really sounds HEAVY... at 1.54 you can hear the weakness of the sound without the bass, again: and justice for Jason

  • "Metallica blackened enhanced bass" is the thing i type the fastest.

  • Good job, sounds better than the original. Lame band, though.

  • fav riff at 4:05

  • JUST EPIC \m/

  • looooooooooooooool And Justice For Jason lml xD

  • ...AND JUSTICE FOR JASON

    /,,/

  • This intro .. is the best i ever heard !

  • Oh My!!! Absolutely unbelivable! So heavy, so better than the original... And justice for Jason really!

  • No wonder he left the band. This is incredible. James and Lars could write and shit, but they seem to sure suck at mixing. This sounds way fuckin' better.

  • @greasefart35 i think he left for 2 reasons..1 he was given an altumatum by james about jasons side project (echoebrain),its metallica or echoebrain.so he chose echoebrain (also commenting that they both sound absolutely NOTHING like each other.and they dont dude.).and i think lars and james purposly dimmed the bass, for the criticism they may have recieved for the cliff replacement.im 95% sure thats what the go was.either way,its good to hear it with real bass eh mate!

  • Nice job dude. Thanks. Now I'm gonna go get some blackened chicken and eet the fuck out of it! METAL UP YOUR ASS! WAY UP YOUR ASS!!!

  • A blacker blackened color.

  • FULL FUCKING VOLUME!

  • ...And justice for Jason lol....XD

  • 43 idiotas nao gostam

  • I always complained about the quality of the bass in this album, you've made a clean and great job.

  • metallica es el rey

  • Comment removed

  • this will never get old, thubs up if you think the same

  • @quevole thumbs down for bad spelling.

  • I`ve been listening to this son since i was like seven years old, that was 12 years ago and this song stiils being one of the greatest songs i`ve ever heard in my lefi

  • @quevole yeah man, same here. I've been listening to this badass song since i was like 5, It NEVER gets old!!!

  • hey man thanks for this video, it really shows what jason was...

  • it's nice to finally hear the bass void filled, sounds so much more gutsy. lars and james were unhappy with the mix because THEY chose to leave him low in the mix. Idiots.

  • 0:00 you approach the gates of Heavy Metal Heaven

0:35 you open the gates and notice the size of it's Mosh pits

0:55 you do what a Metalhead does best :D

  • for me,this sounds tons of better..

  • i can actually hear the bass :)

  • There is no actual bass track on this album. Thank you!

  • If they released this album with the bass this loud I would buy it in a heartbeat

  • Jason deserves that!

  • And Justice For Jason... Epic Album

  • they should release this version with the bass too loud just to make up for an album never having loud enough bass for 24 years

  • why this album have the bests intros?

  • hahaha, Justice for Jason!

  • Yup, this version is much better, but asking Metallica to re-release their old albums with better production is asking the impossible, becouse clearly they're an extremely underground band who never got any money with their music.

  • lol i love that ....and justice for jason at the buttom

  • well i think its better with bass, but you made it to loud here :/

  • @w0mbatina His version of Dyers Eve was done PERFECTLY!

  • this is awesome! Thanks for your video

  • its great but the bass trac is too loud, no matter thanks for doin this!

  • Maybe it's because I'm used to the originals so much, but listening to And Justice with "enhanced" bass, they just sound... wrong

  • Oh my god, using fingers for bass to this song is RIDICULOUS. I'm dead after a minute. And yet, I'm compelled to keep playing...it's just so good <3

  • @adimifus This mix was not meant to be a proper mix of how loud the bass guitar SHOULD be on the album because Lars Ulrich and James Hetfield were drunk during the making of this song. The intent of this video was to show why bass sounds much better louder than the album video, that we all have heard before.Since every hates the bass in this album, I thought it would be something people would LOVE hearing.

  • This is Metallica's best album

  • The way it should have been, Infact the whole met, Catalogue could do with more Bass

  • 43 people Blackened by the touch of Death

  • Great way to congratulate a great bassist. Good work!

  • Me: "Blasting Metallica so loud!"

Girlfriend: WTF is that shit sound!!!

...Shes single now, nah just joking......... shes dead

  • this is my favourite album...i am of the age when this album was just before their notority-i still love all the previous ones and am ok with the albums after the black album (metallica metallica!) but metallica were a huge part of my life! i still think this albums arrangement was a masterpiece :)

  • 5:02-5:11... that bass part was wicked!!

  • omg this sounds even better

  • This album of Metallica is so fantastic, and the lyrics is like the world is to day and the way it`s going and they path we are walking.

  • This song gave me a Fiery Boner, Metallica kicks fuckin' ass

  • the best intro!

  • imo? what the hell does that mean? It sounds fucking retarded.

  • @jeppewie1206 in my opinion

  • So that's what it sounds like with bass, awesome!

  • This has become the definitive version of this song for me. I listen to it almost everyday. Thank you.

  • DAT INTRO

  • The heaviest album of my childhood just got heavier. Bravo to Jason!!!

  • Sounds so much better with BASS.

  • this album was the abuse of cranking down the bass, hell, they should have showed the power of their music leveling the awesome bassists they had!!

  • I love "top posts".. reconciling nothing from themselves. In layman's terms; I'm a nothing and deserve nothing. In retard form; jfgavskjfudsulidhf. So that's what I read.

  • This is how audible bass should be in ALL heavy music. In every band I've ever been in, I've always wanted the bass VERY audible. None of the instruments should overpower the other. Leads or solos should have a bit of extra volume (since it's one instrument on a unique line versus 3 instruments on a unified theme), but otherwise the bass should be VERY clear in the mix. Otherwise, it's just a waste of a very precious musical resource.
