Sorry folks, I don't like this song, it wouldn't fill me with any passion going into a game, remember back to the six nations game against England in Croke Park it was our National Anthem and not this drivel that raised the hairs!! I'm also totally against the removal of our national anthem for the World Cup this year, I found it a disgrace. People may say that we have to introduce Ireland Call for the players from NI but what about the players from ROI, should they not get to hear their Anthem!

@TheEmmetG First of all, our national anthem is never played outside the Republic for rugby matches. So if you only discovered this during the world cup then ya must be living under a rock.

Second thing, the Irish rugby team represents two seperate nations. The Republic and Northern Ireland. If we have to play 'Amhrán na bhFiann' for the guys in the south then we should play 'god save the queen' for the northern lads.

I'm gonna wager you'd like that a lot less than playing 'Irelands call'!

Love the Song. For Trimble, Court and Ross we need to play 32 county song. Brilliant match. Lovely singer but this version is so unbelievably wishy washy and operatic and so very unsuited to a rugby match. Ditch the operatics and either let the crowd carry it or else get a cantor to GIVE IT SOCKS. Was a disappointing wash out in Plymouth last week also. See other versions played at Lansdowne Road/Croke Park - no comparison.

@DrrnTW No, not for me. I'm not embarrassed. I love my National Anthem, but it is not appropriate for our Rugby Team as God Save The Queen Is the National Anthem of most of the Ulster lads. Ireland's Call is an Island of Ireland Anthem for an Island of Ireland team.
