nice....but im playing this right now and if you didnt notice right over measure 11 in the 2nd violins music it says "2x only" meaning the first violins have a solo and then 2nds come in after 1st while they go on.

Played the beginning wrong..

If you notice in your score.. Or even first and second violin parts.. When the firsts have Pizz. And the 2nds have arco.. It says above 2x only. It means that the seconds only play during the second time through.. Since you have to repeat it.

hey i think we hav the same arrangement as u. but u kno at the near begining when the first violin goes half notes and the other strings rest, like for the secong violin on our paper it says 2x time only i thot we only play that after the first violin play the half first time... lol confusing for me..

i play first clarinet in my jh school band and we're playing this for our christmas concert this year and we LOVE it (except we the clarinets and flutes kinda suck at the end with all the eighth notes...)

any way i just wanted to say that i am sooo jelous of your school, YOU HAVE STRINGED INSRAMENTS!!!!! we only have one stringed bass in our entire district!!! (unless you count guitar and bass for jazz band)

im playing this in 7th grade too and it sounds like alot bttr no offence but were the whole band (not orcestra) it sounds unblaenced on here too much violin over powering the bass and not a uniform slow down

You are right. Two things though. Our stage is treble heavy, which would explain how it sounds like the violins are over powering the basses. In reality they weren't, but because of our stage, it sounds like that. Also, that was a substitute conductor. We have a different teacher. So both of those factors could have contributed to our mistakes.

Our school orchestra played this 2 years ago and we're playing it again cuz I begged our director to let us I love it! we play it the same speed but at the retarando we slow down a little more so it's more dramatic and when it goes back to a tempo it's more of a change. I like it this way too though
