I like it when I walk just about on a corner and the freak out and do a dance at me, Then realise I am the one who puts out their seed so they follow me home.
Got a family of these guys visiting my yard once or twice a week, just hanging out..scaring the crap out of me by calling right next to my door (which is next to my computer)..
cute guys...and will let me get pretty close. (close enough to almost snatch a dorito out of my hand anyhow, but that came after a long time of slow trust buildup)
i see these fuckers every single day!!!! well not those two in perticular but u know what i mean. dont mess with them when they with their young!!! i have been chased hence i work at a golf course here in FL lol. they nice birds but when they with their young they are the opposite lol
I have posted a couple of videos I've taken of the Sandhill Cranes in Viera Florida and in the Wetlands, you may enjoy watching! silkscreen01 on youtube
We have 2 in our HUGE yard and whenever my mom goes out to refill the corn in their "feeder," they extend their wings, sidestep, and squawk VERY VERY loudly.
I have a pair of these that lives around my house, that sound is absolutely normal for them to make; and they make it at just about every chance they can get. They make it to stay within communication of each other (I'm assuming these two here are a mated pair) and the hopping and flailing you see is a 'dance' that they preform before mating.
That ain't no dance. Those are two males having a territorial dispute. The squawking has nothing to do with the human filming and everything to do with the other bird.
I absolutely adore these birds. We used to have a pair at my stables, but the female moved on after the male was shot. A shame, really. Beautiful creatures!
I love the way they sound, it's awesome. I can actually somewhat make that sound. But anyways, my point is they are super tasty birds. Better then ducks and geese I'd say.
Beautiful :)

It's hard to hear them fully on here. They are amazingly loud.

they usually make this noise when there is another animal around. the dancing is a mating thing.

I love it when they dance - they do this little bowing thing with their head and stick their beaks in the air...
It's so beautiful!
